  1. Agree, go with the number from the published work. Easier to find at a later date.
  2. MegaCon Orlando Friday - Post Holiday OA Con Report Due to kids sporting events taking place on the weekend, I only had 1 day to get the most out of my MegaCon experience. Going in I was able to set up 3 pre-con pieces for pick-up, all involved my "Iron" Throne theme. One from Eddy Barrows, one from Mike Perkins and one from Daniel Govar. I left the house at about 7:30 AM to make the hour long drive over to Orlando from the East Coast. Figured I'd allow myself a few minutes extra time, just in case Orlando traffic reared it's ugly head. Surprisingly, the trip was a breeze, no traffic issues and slower traffic kept to the right. Made it to the Orange County Convention Center in exactly an hour's time. Hello MegaCon! As I was walking up, the small line was already starting to move along. After the event in Phoenix on Thursday, I expected tighter security, but the only check that took place was to look at the various props that cosplayers were lugging in. No bag check at all (security at cons really needs to improve, my ). I located the two friends I had planned to meet up with and we waited in the inner line for the doors to open. Originally scheduled to open at 10 AM, they opened doors early and we were on our way shortly after 9:30 AM. Going into the con, I had just a few objectives, other than picking up the pieces I had prearranged. I brought two brand new sketch books, a smaller book and a larger book, to get started at the con and I wanted to get them started with a bang, especially the larger of the two. My first stop was to see if I could drop off my larger book with Nick Bradshaw (one of the nicest guys in the industry, if not the world). I'm really enjoying the new Super Sons book, it's just a fun book and I can read it along with my two boys, 10 & 8. Figuring he'd probably already drawn Damian before, I asked Nick if he had drawn the new Superboy yet, and he told me he hadn't really, but if he was going to draw him he had to include Robin, too, at no extra cost. I certainly wasn't going to argue with that. So right away, my con was off to a good start. It took Nick most of the day since he was doing free sketches for kids and catching up with friends, but I was there for the duration, so I didn't mind and just checked back with him throughout the day. Here is Nick with the finished piece: After dropping off my book with Nick, I head up the alley and around the corner to see Mike Perkins. I introduced myself to Mike and he said "I hope you don't mind, I got a little carried away with your piece." Absolutely not. I can't think of one time I've been disappointed to hear those words come out of an artist's mouth. What was originally requested as a pencil piece, turned into a fully inked gem, with no up charge for the inks. Mike explained his process of using his inks to really tighten up his work after penciling a piece and felt that after completing my request, he just didn't think pencils alone did it justice. So here is Iron Fist claiming the "Iron" Throne: I couldn't ask for much more out of my MegaCon experience, and I wasn't even through the first hour yet. Heading along the alley a bit further, I was able to locate my friend and fellow collector @Fred Chamberlain, who was there helping out José Luis García-López and Eddy Barrows. Eddy was able to squeeze me on to an amazing list of pre-con pieces and after saying our hellos, Eddy pulled this wonderful take on the Winter Soldier claiming the "Iron" Throne out and presented it to me: It was really fun getting to see José and Eddy work, and they took interest in every piece that my friend Hector and I picked up throughout the day. A true art highlight, though, was getting to take a look at "The Monster and the Madman" or more commonly known as "Batman vs the Incredible Hulk" pages that Fred has been putting together in his collection by José. Breathtaking and classic art! As an aside, if Katie Cook is doing $10 mini water colors, you have to get one. Baby Groot claims the "Iron" Throne! : After skirting around the outside of Artist's Alley, it was time to dive in and see if I could locate Daniel Govar and stop in and say hi to fellow board member @Par2ch who was with artist and colorist Steve Lydic. There are so many talented artists out there! We finally bumped into Daniel, who was finishing up my piece. A truly stunning take on Archangel claiming the "Iron" Throne: While checking in on Nick, I checked with his better half Danica Brine to see if she might be free to add a sketch to my smaller sketch book. My daughter (5) loves the DC Super Hero Girls, so I asked Danica for that version of Super Girl, which she was kind enough to sketch for free since it was for my little girl. I popped back over and had Steve Lydic add colors to it before the con closed for the day. It turned out really well and my daughter loved it: I didn't take many pictures of Cosplayers, just not my thing, but this was definitely one of the most creative ones I saw as I walked the con floor: These aren't the droids you're looking for, move along . . move along: The fun part of cons are of course the little things that pop up that weren't initially quite on your radar. Early on in my art collecting days I acquired what looked to be a jam piece started by someone. It had a great take on Logan/Wolverine by Jack Herbert, another full figure Wolverine, layout and a layout for a bust of the Hulk. With the two Wolverines already in place, I decided to forego the Hulk and asked Eddy Barrows to sketch over it by adding Weapon X to the piece. Eddy was absolutely the best choice and he really delivered! Another fun surprise was that after Hector and I returned to shoot the breeze with Daniel Govar, I started browsing through his portfolio and found this cool Wall-E sketch that he originally completed back in 2015. We were all surprised it was still there. Daniel said everyone tends to love it, but it never gets picked up. Well, I couldn't help myself, my youngest son loves Wall-E. I have to say that the most humbling part of my day came after MegaCon. We were able to attend an after hours meet & greet to benefit the Victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting & Equality Florida. I grew up in Orlando and graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF), so being able to give back in a small way, only felt right. We received a variant edition of the "Love is Love" book signed by several artists and George Perez made a special appearance (his only con appearance this year, due to his health). Inside the book is a beautiful painting by David Mack of Amanda Alvear, 25, who was one of the victims at Pulse. Fred called me over and introduced me to Amanda's mother, who not only lost her daughter less than a year ago, but had also lost her son previously to cancer at age 11. The strength of this woman is beyond measure and to see her smiling and warm demeanor in the face of this tragedy was truly inspiring. Here is the picture of Amanda from the book: Thanks for letting me share.
  3. Not only, Stark and Iron Man, but Happy Hogan, too? I don't think Happy/Favreau even made it onto any of the Iron Man movie posters.
  4. Ron's pages are from the current "Future Quest" series published by DC.
  5. Then you aren't doing it right, Sean!
  6. Is it just me, or is the International Trailer better?
  7. @Kevin Boyd, one more question if you don't mind. Is there someplace to see the floor plan online? I've got the mobile app on my phone, but the floor plan doesn't scale, so you can't read it when trying to zoom in and see table numbers. Having the floor plan on the app is a great thought, but since it doesn't scale, it's not very helpful. I've attached a pic to show you.
  8. @Kevin Boyd Where can I find the table numbers for the Comic Featured Guests and Comic Special Guests? Thanks!
  9. You just need to convince Fox to get Omega Red in a movie Scott! It's the one piece of the puzzle that's holding your X-Men #4 back!
  10. Adam Hughes: $1753 Joseph Michael Linser: $776 Paolo Rivera: $1421 Dale Keown - $882 Walt Simonson : $801
  11. Ooops, you kept on posting and now owe NinjaSealed some art!
  12. Hey, there's someone selling two pages in the OA Marketplace! Wait . . . . it's you! Why all the pretense if you were just fishing for pricing info for pages you clearly already had? https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/415267-sal-buscema-skull-the-slayer-original-art/ You could have just asked for an opinion. As you can see, members here were glad to offer them. For a new member of the boards, this doesn't lend credence to you as a seller.
  13. In the past, when they've done these auctions on eBay, there was an option to have them sent in for CGC SS, so I would think if you inquire with the HERO Initiative, the option will still be out there.
  14. Stunning painting. I've never heard of this film, but will definitely be checking it out now.
  15. This has been discussed in detail here: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/411445-joshua-middleton-nyx-3-covernext-ha-auction/#comment-9675515 If you click on the magnifying glass/search button in the top right corner of the website, you can look for topics before you duplicate a post. WTTB.
  16. I think they're probably being a bit short-sighted and you'd probably be better off selling them yourself if that's the case, @Michael Browning (Whenever you decide to do so). Judging by the responses here, there's definitely a market for them. While the 90's was filled with gimmicks and bloated numbers of books, the art itself is still one of a kind and definitely holds a nostalgia spot for many of us.
  17. Are they guarded by a dragon that will only allow a "dealer" to get access to them? In all seriousness, if you know that there's a market for these pages, why not attempt to sell them? Or encourage the owner to do so? Why does a dealer have to be involved?
