  1. nice and big one here Ummm... I originally wanted to put this in my other thread "worst moderns" but I guess it does have a gun pointing atcha
  2. Book value has nothing to do with key value. Its the book’s significant value in relation to storyline/character/genre and sometimes art that make it key. in those regards a book like Eternals 1 has far less significance than a book like MSE15 in key terms
  3. How is MSE15, an established Marvel key, which spawned a series that ran consecutively for almost a decade, producing some amazing art and storylines, considered junk?
  4. Yup exactly my findings. I see a lot of gimmicks still as to be expected from the modern variant market, I don’t think that will ever change, but no organic price climbs from cover price moderns (ala marvel comics presents 6) or back issue surprises
  5. Seems to me like there’s less enthusiasm with moderns/movie hyped books of late. I wanna say, approximately 6 months now. im doing great with sales but I can’t point to any feeding frenzy books
  6. Timing the market is everything, with everything. you can never get it 100% but you’ll get it 60-80% of the time if you have basic economy knowledge, knowledge of the product you buy, patience, and confidence
  7. The kinda good - book u can’t find in the wild and DONT WANNA find in the wild - GOOD
  8. Please tell me you then sold the check on eBay for double the amount
  9. Thank you. And yes, I've won a few books that would have made great additions to my collection that were cancelled, one seller went even as far as sending me a replacement random comic as a form of apology. I knew they were coming from a good place yet clueless about the hobby. But still, winning a Spidey #1 treasury signed and numbered by Stan & Johnny for under $10 DID hurt when it was cancelled.
  10. I’m afraid to say that the case with sellers canceling is ever increasing the reason for most of those occurrences is multi-platform listing, mainly Facebook. Ive had 3-4 sellers who I bought BINS/auctions from and they all said that they’re sorry they had to cancel because they listed the same book on fb and got a better deal there (minus eBay fees of course) Of course you can neg the heck out of them but most of those sellers do not take they’re business seriously to begin with so any act of retribution is not gonna get you the book back
  11. So people are spending top $$$ for a mainly reprint/compilation book bcs it has a limited print run amazing investing insight!
  12. I sold 30k worth of books and spent 10k my existing collection raise to about $125k
  13. Actually the only question that comes to mind is... just WHO THE HELL is the writer of this book???!
  14. The 2nd person typed 175BIN which means “ILL TAKE IT”
  15. Usually a seller on fb will post pics of big big big books and prepare everyone for a sale. Once everyone’s tuned in they list the books one by one with offers. usually. USUALLY.. you get high end books at overpriced>reasonable prices and a whole bunch of drek that flies at 1-2$ a pop. But sometimes you get clueless sellers too. Just like any other platform (ahem, eBay)
  16. I always thought placing a digital code of the comic (if available) on the label would be a cool way to enjoy a slab while being able to read the book. Maybe that something CGC can work out with the big two?
