  1. Any conventions coming up that they will be attending around the release date? Ill have to ask them, Gonna be in dirty joisy for the superbowl EDIT - duh, the book comes out on feb 25 I forgot.. Just spoke to the store and they said that they are trying to get Hughes for the signing on the release date.. Keep you updated I'm just asking because of their last exclusive, ASM 4, and the SDCC debacle. what was that about I forgot
  2. That was to be expected.. My bet was 350, but Im not surprised.. Great! On a side note, i betcha that if the attention hadnt shifted to the Hot Topic variant he wouldve closed even higher!
  3. I agree with every word EXCEPT for the part highlighted. I can give you a list of comic dealers on ebay that do that on a regular basis. Do they stop doing it because of negative fb? no. Will buyers keep buying from them? of course. If youre a power seller/top rated seller on ebay, and you move more than 300 transactions a month, youre practically immune to negative fbs. So whats actually happening here is this; a big comic book dealer that gets the same treatment as the little guy will end up STAYING in business and do the same"bad practices" the little guy did, and the buyer (us) will end up staying with less shopping choices. Sounds like democracy isnt practiced here after all. Not because of how it should be practiced, but mainly because - the system in which these rules are set is defunct
  4. I just resort to leaving a negative feedback when there's a bad experience with a seller which is NOT common with retail/sales practices. It seems like you do to (thumbs u Lets just agree that we both see this particular case in different views
  5. Think of it more as outlining the guy's business practice for future buyers. That is the purpose of feedback. I'd hate to be the buyer of the next hot item, have the guy pull the same trick, and then find out that he'd done it before but no one had spoken up about it. Again, comic book dealers do it all the time, its common practice to them, no way of changing that, no matter how many bad feedbacks you leave. They get HUNDREDS of negative feedbacks and most for that reason alone.. Im not taking sides here, but unfortunately, thats just how it is Do you leave positive feedback? If so, why? Are you insinuating that leaving a positive feedback has the same weigh as leaving a negative? How many negatives have YOU left?

  7. Damnnnn, who knew this will become such a hot topic (on pun intended) This happens ALL THE TIME and especially with big sellers, I dont wanna name names, but we know who they are.. I dont know what a bad negative will do in this case other than mess up the sellers reputation, is it appropriate? maybe, will it get you the comic? no! In my book leaving a neg is just bad karma, unless the seller was rude to you after he was on the bad, there is no sense in seeking "retribution". JMO

  9. Conquest comics just announced of ANOTHER Hughes variant for Spider Gwen #1 Dont know if to or to
  10. So supposedly Conquest Comics are going to release a DIFFERENT Hughes variant for Spider-Gwen #1 which was announced today, it will have 3 different versions: color, B&W and Hybrid, limited print runs and she will be in costume.. With slippers!
  11. Interesting, I wonder if the suspected 500,000 print run on this may eventfully catch up to the demand ? I would sell em now if you got em.. dollar bins everywhere will be emptied . Not to suggest that theres shortage, but its original print run of over 20 years ago is no longer relevant.. Actually I bet that because this was such a cheap book, most copies have been dumped long long time ago
  12. The 4 issues together barely sell for above cover, go figure. It's all about the Skottie cover I had no problem getting $40 for a set. Well over cover. https://comicbookscalping.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/1421882063.jpg Everyone's going to go out and get themselves a 9.8 slabbed copy of Incredible Hulk #1 now. Now where did I put all of those? , except that's not the first true Grey Hulk. Its on like donkey kong
  13. I still dont understand why its recalled? because of the Hulk action figure or because of some movie announcement which is leaked in the book.. so confused
  14. Hot topic said they are releasing them this Sunday not recalling.. heard that from 3 stores today.. Major potential on this one I agree.. At least until Sunday
  15. What do you think happened to the books they had as kids? They probably still have them. Most of the people who don't still have the comics they had as kids in the 80s and 90s probably no longer care about comics. That's a broad and generalized statement and therefor incorrect. People move, go to college, etc...if they can't store them at their parents place they probably sold them online or at a garage sale. Now they want some of them back. That's me. I sold most of my comics to buy a car in high school keeping only my favorites (mostly Byrne X-Men & NNT). when I started collecting again a few years ago, first thing I did was purchase the books I had as a kid AND the books I WISH I had as a kid (eg X-men 94, GSX1 etc.). Nostalgia is a powerful thing. My friend, you win the award for the most powerful and accurate statement in this thread If you dont know what it feels like reuniting with a NM copy of a memorable book, a book that your mom bought you as a little kid which you read cover to cover hundreds of times - NOT EVEN A KEY - a book which turned to shreds in the past 30 years, or one that you lost in the process of moving - You don't understand the concept of collectibles. That book is priceless end of story
  16. I don't know if you are referring to me or not, so I will reiterate. The market has spoken. 181 is the book everyone wants. I am just tired of it being called Wolverine's first appearance - and when I say that, I am not necessarily talking about CGC slabs. I see it on eBay, and even here occasionaly. There was even a post in the Water Cooler, in the thread everyone talks about the stock market in, where someone said that buying IH181s would be a good investment due to it being Wolverine's 1st app. That's my only point. -slym When and if IH180 becomes THE grail Ill just feel bad for this guy...
