  1. X Men 4 sure is drek but it was a $10-20 book for me at times for a few years now. Others it was $2-5
  2. I guess this belongs here too, even though its not really pointing atcha
  3. I wanna go if only just so I could tell my friends I've been at a place called Batavia
  4. What is this, a "comics that are cooling off" reunion?
  5. Yup I totally agree. Shoot first ask questions later well done ????
  6. Yup I'll add to that Dave Stevens with Rocketeer.. I was touching up on that a little on the modern section. When a Rocketeer book came out it was a HUGE deal, same as it was with back then Art Adams announced for a book or annual.. The fans were there for the art
  7. A few years ago I wrote about this here as my prediction of things we should worry about as pertaining to our hobby in a topic someone started ... It appears that DC comics is now prohibiting Amazon sellers from selling most of their modern line of comics and books without getting approval from them directly. This happens on almost every book or comic an Amazon seller is trying to list, or add on to an existing listing (which was not created by DC, btw) So far this limitation only happens if an Amazon seller is trying to list a "used" copy. New copies are still allowed to sell/add by Amazon sellers without the limitation. Here is the notice you get when asked to sell a DC book/comic on Amazon:
  8. I looooved Brit-Pop growing up. I always thought I was weird in that sense (well.. and other ways too) I used to collect No #1 & Bravo magazines and my room was full of posters from those magazines. ABC, Talk-Talk, Scritti Politti, Madness, Fun Boy Three, Ultravox, Thompson Twins, Malcolm McLaren, The Specials, FGTH, Depeche.... Ahhhh so many others ok I better stop hijacking Marwood's thread again ?
  9. Absolutely. He was aware of him through "Never Ending Story" I think
  10. Now I know where all those high grade DS covers are hiding https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords="dave+stevens"&rh=n%3A283155%2Ck%3A"dave+stevens" Actually alot of people do. He's just more known among art collectors than comic fan-boys.
  11. I remember seeing the ad for this record in comic books growing up and always wondering what it sounded like. But then again, back then I was into Spandau Ballet and Kajagoogoo
  12. Absolutely agree. A great cover by a great artist doesnt translate to big bucks. Look at Dave Stevens. Probably the biggest cheescake/girlie modern (copper) cover artist ever. None of his books or covers are worth a fraction of what those he inspired are worth. That doesnt mean that they are less sought after, or that he is a bad artist
  13. I saw the John romita front cover and was like ... But then flipped the record over and was like...
