  1. I think I originally said golden age in the first post. I know in my mind I had like a 1948 cut-off Post 1948 could be an entire thread unto itself.
  2. Like this one: Nine copies in the census. Timely Wolverton
  3. thanks! i know this thread will have me looking at a bunch of comics i haven't looked at in a while.
  4. Not my intent. I just wanted to pose the question, see other posters' books, and discuss them. While we don't know how many copies of a book exist if ten (or fewer) are listed in the census, if there are fifty (or whatever number) listed we know for sure there's at least that many.
  5. All of mine will be raw. I had to pick a cut off number, and browsing the CGC census was what gave me the idea. It is funny, but we all know there's more books in the wild than are reflected in the census.
  6. Love all those Weird Comics! Fascinated at how few there are.
  7. If people aren't posting their 5 keepers, I'll figure out an "honorable mention" group of 5 from my collection!
  8. Eight copies on the census. 3.0, 3 copies at 3.5, 4.5, 5.0, 6.5, and 8.5.
  9. Very cool! Maybe we'll get some surprises as we're looking up our books that there are ten or less copies and we didn't even know it.
  10. GA With Less Than Ten Copies in the CGC Census Many of us are fans of super-rare funny books. Sometimes when I'm bored I like to browse the CGC census and see how many copies of certain books have been submitted. Let's post pictures of the books we own that have ten or less unrestored copies currently in the census, and discuss, discuss, discuss. When you post the pictures of your books, also post how many of them are on the census, and in what grade. Why did I pick ten? I don't know. I was going to go with five, but that seemed too low for some reason. (If there is already a thread like this out there, I didn't see it!)
  11. i love that black detective comics church copy!
  12. waiting and debating isn't making it any easier (and the choices keep changing), so this is this evening's top five:
  13. If I had to guess I'd have said I sold it 2005, 2006, but it may have been earlier.
  14. yeah, someone owed me money and didn't have any cash, but they had some credit with CGC, so I slabbed a handful of books to try it out. i sold several books (on ebay i think) that didn't fit into what I was collecting at the time shortly after. can't recall how many years ago that was.
