Bay is a piece of work. Know a guy who worked on his student film while Bay was at Pasadena Art Center. Rich kid. Could hire the best on his "student" film, with the exception of my friend who tied into his mom's house's breaker box and blew a fuse and caught the house on fire.

He's consistently abusive and unkind to the people below him. What else do you need to know about a person? F.. this guy.

Besides, his logic here is flawed like the Bossy Bottom running a train behind a dumpster at a truck stop outside of Barstow that he is: A Mocking Bird imitates and thereby creates its own art. Duh! And on and on...

I’m not for sure I understand everything written here but I get the gist. I never said that he was a nice guy to everyone, just that I agree with his statement that AI doesn’t create, it imitates (so far).

I stand by my statement that he is one of the hardest working directors I have ever seen.  He is always looking for a unique angle or technique and never slows down or stops moving. Does that make him the best? No, of course not. Bayhem is a name used for a reason.

Knowing nothing about how SAG and Hollywood works, if nothing is settled, could the studios make movies/TV shows with non-SAG actors?  Is that even a thing or is it an impossibility because of how things are written up and what not?

It's complicated.  In short, no, major productions with a few exceptions granted by SAG would be prohibited.  That would mean you have no star power and no experienced crew. In theory you could make the movies outside the country but places like Canada and UK will usually support the agreements of SAG since they have tied in roles and interests.  I guess you could go make a movie in Korea, but again, you would have no stars and it is doubtful that you would get a return on your investment.  If an actor violates the SAG strike, they could be fined, or kicked out of the union. They would very likely be turned down for roles in the future. In the long run that would be far worse for them than the temporary money they may make.

  3. Not releasing the video is not really a sign of guilt to me. As others have said, most companies will not hand over a video without a police or attorney legal request.

I have shipped an item packaged like this before for either the gift exchange or raffle. The bottom layer looked so much like the bottom packaging layer that I wrote a note that said, “open this” so they wouldn’t miss it.

The magazine may be gone forever but I think they will make an effort to make it right if the video shows this possibility. It may even start a new unpacking policy.

Yeah, the stealing Halloween stuff is terrible.  But don't lose faith in Humanity.  There are terrible people and there are great people too.

    Thank you for posting this.

These stealing videos have been horrible. There was some fat :censored: in my town on video telling his kid to take the whole bowl and then told him to run. Sad that a parent would teach their kid that. Props to the parents in this video.

I actually don't dislike those as much as I used to, but people change out the orange lamps for clear ones these days and the early 2000 models start to look a lot more like later models.

I just can't get into those later models.

I grew up on 911s and 930s from the 80s and 90s and those things were raucous.

    ps. That's not a 911.

I only drive cars that come in Male.

I know, it’s a Boxster. Seemed appropriate for a Hippie with girl’s hair!

A meeting between Dave and I wouldn't be a meeting if we didn't share our love of Porsches.

I've been a lifelong fan since about 1985 and even worked for them at one time.

Unfortunately, I'm not longer a fan of the new models.

After the mid 2000's the models began to gain weight, look bloated and get more luxirious. Something I am not interested in.

I'm more interested in a rough, bucking bronco that is loud, obnoxious and difficult to drive, making it all the more rewarding.

This is the first appearance of the Porsche Model 901, later renamed the 911 because Peugeot had the rights to cars numbered with a zero in the middle. lol

That car was the start of a 6 decade dynasty. :cloud9:

In the automotive world, this was the auto equivalent of Led Zeppelin's 1st album or Wolverine's 1st appearance!

I’m guessing the one with the fried egg lights is your favorite.

Do I understand this correctly? You're saying you don't like my posts, can't ignore me as much as you'd like to but came into my thread to make a post ANYWAY? doh!

I'm getting messages from random boardies asking me what's going on and they've commented unsolicited on how every time you appear, moderation appears and then threads get moved to the Watercooler. It's not just me. Everyone sees it.

For gosh's sake, you've even OPENLY STATED IN GENERAL THAT MY POSTS ARE OFF TOPIC AND THAT THE THREAD SHOULD BE MOVED TO THE WC. :D

If you don't enjoy participating, why do you?

This is a great thread and people are obviously loving it. Can we not get it locked?

    Thanks.

The Water Cooler is your kryptonite!

My bestie @davidpg made a great point.

A poor system may even work for a while but it will nEVER work indefinitely in much the same way, you can be a stern, authoritarian parent but as soon as your kids are old enough to escape your rule, you've lost them.

Many people can't understand that, but that point is unassailable.

Are you typing this stuff in only your underwear again?

Coming in late but since I'm an author who has two projects in pre-production, I can share how this affected my recent contract.

The first offer stipulated that I'd be paid roughly 20% of a reasonable buy price and the rest would come from residuals if/when the show went into syndication.

My film agent immediately rejected it because streaming shows don't go into the old network syndication model, so they were offering me 80% of nothing.

The contract I ended up signing had a fair price that would be paid on the first day of principle photography, then a set payment per episode produced. No residuals.

It's been my understanding that SAG actors were offered similar pay structures, where most of their earnings would come from some vague, ill-defined source, if at all.

Congrats on the two projects. Well done!  Are they going to keep you on board while filming as an Executive Producer / writer to give input?
