  1. Yup, I've seen auctions for 1-9, or 1-10, or 1-11 go for anywhere from $30-$40 Not really sure EoW is considered "heating up" on eBay the story sure is!
  2. Wait but this is a $50 book for #1 ? Just teasing, Authority. I couldn't resist
  3. New site looks cool. Way better layout. I was also surprised to see OA from issue #1 on there
  4. screen shot! screen shot!
  5. LCS. Didn't even know there was going to be a CBLDF variant, so it was a nice surprise to see it on the shelf.
  6. Anyone else pick up the CBLDF variant today? Couldn't resist
  7. Exactly. It's not great but not horrible, it's just different. Fun is the best way to describe Waids run. Although, lately I've been itching for a darker DD, hopefully we get some soon Rereading the Bendis run to hold me over
  8. whoa 25 copies? All because it's an awesome story?
  9. Modern Comics Forum Got a sweet 2'x3' Southern Bastards poster from my LCS for free. Pretty awesome. I'm assuming they gave it away because they can't hang it in the store
  10. Definitely too early to tell. Very similar feel and story though...maybe too similar? We'll see.
  11. Dave had an awesome grading contest in the PGM section, and I got lucky enough to receive a free copy of JIM 109 He's a class act all around. Great communication, even shipped the book totally for free! Highly recommended seller and first class boardie Thanks again Dave!
  12. My oldest daughter, who's 10 and a huge spidey fan, set down her ASM essentials book last night and said, "Can I read Daredevil?" I almost fell over myself trying to find the first DD Masterwork.....proudest moment as a parent. Anyway, carry on.
  13. I don't usually post here, but I couldn't let Harvey take the DD smack talk alone Best character in comics
  14. What the heck just happened?!
  15. Just curious, why is that applause worthy? Who in retail doesn't try to sell enough to cover their costs? Isn't that what you do when selling things? This thread is plagued with people looking for fights, and I love it. I love how worked up people get here, and the passive agressive comments and emoticons, it's never-ending entertainment Happy Friday everyone! The MD thread, the most hostile thread in all the forums, may it live forever!
  16. sellers have to buy books too, they don't magically get them for free. -slym

  18. Less Ottleys than LBCC on ebay the last time I checked but I think there were only 250 LBCC books so I doubt it is close overall. I think we see more LBCC because of it's price tag, where as I think more people are holding onto the Ottley in hopes that it keeps going up in price. I know I'm not selling any of mine until I know what the print run is. I need the cash now, though! I am in sort of a bind (not really) that I need to sell these off but damn, if this book keeps rising up like it is, I don't want to be kicking myself AGAIN! In the past year, I have sold off and afterwards watch prices rise on many books: Deadpool, Scalped, Chew, and this is just a few examples of this happening in my life. I don't even want to get into selling my Nyx 1-4 run in December or January after it was released, only to find out that #3 was X-23s 1st app a few months later... -slym If you wait for the perfect time to sell, you will never get rid of anything. I also believe if you only sell at peak prices and you sell a lot of books, people will find somewhere else to buy unless you are selling to someone who doesn't resale. This. Wise words, Authority! Slym, maybe sell now while it's hot and hold one copy for later in case it explodes further? That's what I like to do. You're definitely making money on the deal if you sell now and hold one, enough to cover the grading fees...then it doesnt matter how long you hold that lone slab for.
  19. My theory: I don't think he will ever complete the gauntlet on film. I think it will be a series of events in which he uses (or attempts to use) the individual stones to bring many heroes together against him. He will be portrayed as pure evil who must be stopped from his ultimate goal before it is too late. They succeed in stopping him. World is saved.... for now... The power of the completed gauntlet would be rather difficult to capture on film. But the idea of half the population of the universe disappearing suddenly would be cool on film. Also I don't think Death will be part of the story line at all. +1, unfortunately I feel the same. Death would be a tough fit for a Marvel movie. But a guy can dream
  20. If you have read scalped you would know this one would make an amazing show. Read the first TPB and you will be hooked. +1 fantastic series. Also, why yawn? The tv/film industries constantly dipping into comic material is nothing but good for the long term sustainability of comics IMO. I love seeing anything get optioned.
