  1. Color is a part of the equation because the movie had to be cast in mainly black actors to be true to the African storyline. That is nearly unheard of in Hollywood. Most movies can cast without a single Black, Latino or Asian actor and you rarely hear a peep. Except for that Egyptian movie with Christian Bale that got destroyed in the press and at the box office for shockingly casting zero color for a movie based in Africa. I believe the movie succeeded because it was cast with amazing actors, incredible music, awesome CGI and excellent writing and yes there will be some serious pride from a lot of people who are thrilled to have a Black hero. The first in comics and first black super hero movie. I call that a great combination of factors leading to overwhelming success.
  2. I just don't see this FF52 slowing down. This weekend should be another massive haul at the box office which means more exposure to millions more people. More regular folks will come out of the wood work looking for a copy and serious collectors will be trying to upgrade or pick a copy they should have picked up long ago. There will also be pressure on Fiege to talk about Black Panther 2. I think we're seeing the forming of a new ceiling and we have no idea how high this will go.
  3. This book is hot and only getting hotter. Just think all this noise without a single discussion about a movie. This is love for a storyline and the hope of what it could look like down the road on screen. Buy it now.
  4. 1, 12, 14, GS1, 94, 101, 129. All the biggies. More in Bronze but this is a good start.
  5. 359. Supehero over villain any day but Yvonne Craig definitely puts this over the top.
  6. Decent book selection but they take a long time to process orders and longer to get back to you.
  7. Trailer could have been better but I have a feeling these 7 episodes will be intense! Can't wait!
  8. I should have know better. Disappointing movie. Bad writing, plot holes, bad acting... The worst part was they completely glossed over the idea they were going back to the planet to exact revenge and they did that entire scene in 2 minutes. Why setup this giant humanoid race if they weren't really going to follow through. Alien was great because it was a great horror flick in a space ship. Nothing has come close since.
  9. People like their comic books. No extra supplies to but and they fit in the box and feel right in your hand. It also has a cool cover.
  10. Swamp Thing is an interesting character but he's no money maker. It's all about Berni's great art and a classic scary cover. Few covers come close to the look you feel after watching it. How can you define a 1950's style piece art that makes you feel like you're watching a Horror flick from the safety of a drive in theatre.
  11. Timing is of course the hardest part too. And frustrating when you sell too late or too soon.
  12. This book has always been expensive and no one has ever been able to say 100% why. My gut says it's a great cover, a quirky character and a helluva artist. That's all.
  13. It's an undervalued book but the prices have been slowly rising. It is also hard to find in high grade likely because it was in the dollar boxes for so long. You won't see too many 9.8's for sale but when they do show up they are almost as pricey as Hulk 271 9.8. I expect this book will continue to grow as Chris Pratt is great in the role and StarLord is becoming more prominent in the Marvel U with the reveal that he is a Celestial. See what that has done to Eternal #1 & #2 prices.
  14. 1 and 2 are getting harder to find in NM. Worse, try finding the 30 cent price variants. Now those are hard to find.
  15. If you can stomach it, start with #1. The prices for low grade #1's (.5-2.5) are very reasonable compared to other Marvel classic #1's. You can always go back and fill the run but the #1 will be in much more expensive book with all the movies coming out in the next few years.
  16. Get it graded. Take the hassle out of someone negotiating condition after purchase.
  17. Eternals #1 & #2. Feige and Gunn are cooking something up with Celestials. Guardians is taking the lead but this is going to go Avengers mainstream.
  18. When we finally see Thanos in real combat action, this book is going to really explode. We have been teased on screen with a passive purple pimp. Bad Thanos is coming.
  19. Love, love Kirby but in this case Ditko did it better.
