  1. Yup, it looks a little better but that is not saying much at all. As a lifelong FF fan I remain naively hopeful However the old saying keeps on playing: Fool me once shame on.....
  2. I love my comics and all all things super heroes and I'm all for hot books for globally released movies but the TV show thing is getting absurd. Are cartoon first appearances next? I also love Daredevil but the Purple Man!?! Wtf! And I own a few DD 4s. Every Daredevil, Arrow, Flash... obscure Villain is now fair game. Seems a little crazy and makes me want to invest in Tulips and buy digital comics. A question for you super veteran expert collectors, are we heading off a cliff?
  3. Can someone give me insight into Hulk 92 variant or 2nd printing? I picked up a couple of these 2 months ago for $8 a pop but now the prices are insane. This always seemed to the much lesser of the two versions but not anymore. I know the movie rumors but why the big switch?
  4. Beautiful copy. How did that grade a 6.5. I know the right corners are dinged but the spine looks amazing.
  5. Based on what evidence? Asking for facts which could potentially get in the way of a good story? Party pooper I find it interesting how a pleasant chat can be derailed by a demand for evidence. Let's start with facts first. Marvel has at one time or another tried to rectify their near bankruptcy mistakes by trying to get back all of their estranged properties; Xmen, Spiderman, and Fantastic Four. Spiderman is the one that is in the news right now because of the Sony hacking scandal where we have learned through the emails that Marvel has several variations of revenue sharing deals in place in order to get Spiderman in Captain America Civil War. This makes tremendous business sense as Marvel's main competitor, DC has the movie rights to all of their characters giving DC a significant long term advantage allowing them to control story lines and quality control of their final movie product and how the stories weave together. Specifically for the FF, Marvel has tried to negotiate the rights for both Silver Surfer and Galactus which did not succeed. They were also in negotiations for Submariner (Aquaman competitor) which also failed. In the meantime Fox keeps churning out bad FF movies weakening the equity of the FF brand name and along with it a critical part of the Marvel brand. Marvel cannot deploy hope as a brand strategy and expect Fox will allow the rights to revert back to Marvel. As long as there is a buck to be made Fox will hold on and churn out putrid plots with half assed CGI. Marvel's latest tactic is to cancel the FF comic line so as not give any additional publicity for the next movie. I doubt this will work but it might speed up negotiations. If you would like specific evidence, you can Google all of the above. However common sense should also apply in this discussion. Disney is calling the shots and wants to keep the huge advantage Marvel currently has over DC in terms of revenue and movie quality. DC however has made huge strides in TV and has a long term plan for a significant movie franchise (on paper at least). Imagine the possibilities of a fully operational Marvel line of characters and what could be done on TV, Movies and Netflix. There are hundreds of great FF stories to be told right but I am pulling for this deal just for them to clean up that Steaming turd that was FF 2 Rise of the Surfer and do the Galactus / Silver Surfer movie the right way and make King Kirby proud.
  6. Lots of debate so let's just start the dialogue. Fantastic Four 36, 45 and 52 have taken off. While 46, 53 and 67 are seriously heating up. Clearly Marvel is trying to buy back the rights to the FF movie franchise. Imagine what would happen to all FF books if Marvel secured the rights and Feige got his hands on the huge wealth of characters. No other comic has the breadth and scope of earthly and cosmic characters. It would be a wild ride.
  7. I look at that copy and I think , Wow! Complete, no restoration and with no pieces missing. Perfection!
  8. We can only hope! Btw, I have that actual license plate. I bought it from the the Real Kramer. Had him sign it too!
  9. Those look great. What material are the statues made of? Are they plastic or metal? These are real Bowen statues made of resin, sculpted, painted then "chromed" by creations n chrome in California. Superb!
  10. Forever People 1 CGC 9.8. Kirby and Darkseid. Solid growth but still has Awesome potential.
  11. That 9.0 is sweet but the 6.0 is awesome for the grade. One of my favorite covers of all time.
  12. The Blue Beetle is definitely underrated and the cgc 8.5 will probably be a good long term buy. It is not his first appearence but it the first appearence of The Question which makes this such a solid long term hold. This is not terribly easy to find in high grade.
  13. 60 is definitely nice to have but 54 is the key.
  14. This is the first expensive book I picked up after seriously getting back into the silver age classics. The price seemed so outrageously expensive at the time but now it is a bargain. What a funny hobby. Now if I could sell any of them. Damn emotional attachment. And I agree that ST 146 is an amazing cover. Look at all the early STs and you will notice how few great Doc Strange covers there really are. All the classic grailsnhave terrible covers and or no Doc in them at all. Not 110, 111, 114, 115. The Doc covers are little fractions of a page. Not really until 146 do you get something dynamic or bold.
  15. Purchased a few from him from eBay and have been happy with the books. Grading has been fairly accurate and his prices are just about market rate. He does not under grade so don't expect a raw bargain.
  16. I've been researching draw boxes but still can't figure out the best ones to purchase. Any advice appreciated. Which ones are strongest? Where do you order to get the best deal? Is there a way to manage the shipping cost? That seems to be the killer hidden cost.
  17. Now that is pretty cool. Can't say I have seen a Norwegian set. I dig the colors.
  18. Well said. We are all probably a little bit collector, speculator, dealer... The desire to give everyone a specific group label and than blame that group for all the woes of our hobby seems a bit silly.
  19. Now we're talking. I'm really starting to enjoy the show more because of the new plot twists and the feeling that this show is taking on a bigger role in the marvel universe. The possible inhuman or Kree cosmic plots are huge. I don't love the actress who plays Skye bit I agree she will likely play a huge role for marvel. An original character would take some balls because there are so many existing big and small characters. Done right it could be awesome. Hopefully they don't cross promote this to death at the expense of the story. They need to get the role right on the show first. Right now we are focused on Skye but I haven't heard much about Coulson? He has the same blood as Skye so where she goes, he goes. The rumor at the beginning of the season was he would become The Vision. Another actor was cast so we know that won't happen. Coulson is an original character from the movies so the possibilities are endless. Marvel seems to really like the actor so it could be a huge character. Crazy talk would be Black Bolt but that might be too out there. If it is Kree focused he could be Captain Marvel or Quasar. All just theories....
  20. Any good theories on who Skye's parents are? I was hoping for some good theories. The Inhuman thread is interesting. Anyone think the Kree blood is the new Teragen Mist that creates Inhumans?
  21. 100 percent agree. I picked up a nice copy and a couple of butt ugly ones last year. This has been a nice healthy climb leading up to the movie announcement. I always found 110 to be a hard to find comic especially in higher grades.
  22. Very envious of this forum. A true holy grail.
  23. Great to look at these awesome books. Definitely a keeper book for the long term. Seems like Feige has a major man crush on the Doctor and based on his track record, I am not betting against the guy.
