  1. ...yes, thanks for taking the time to share the pictures Gene! --Mark
  2. Maybe the picture of the Perez piece doesn't do it justice, but I'm not a fan of it either. All the "T"'s look awkward. The coloring is not the best I've seen, (and coloring has never been Perez' greatest strengths anyway). To my eye, the symmetry seems off just enough to be visually distracting. Looks like a playing card....but hey, if you like it....
  3. WTB - Batman covers Interested in buying, or trading for, Batman, Detective, Brave and Bold, and Legends of the Dark Knight covers from the 70's-90's. Thanks, Mark T.

  5. That Cap 211 cover was the steal of the auction.... -- Mark T.
  6. I don't see any harm in contacting someone (or being contacted) on NFS art. It's no bother to reply if I'm not interested in selling. I do think however that when contacting someone about buying a piece marked as NFS, you should be prepared to make an offer. I don't think you should contact someone about a NFS piece and not be prepared to make an offer. Don't expect the person listing the piece as NFS to come up with a price for you. --Mark T
  7. Glad to see Heritage responding to the Kirby estate this way. Speaking as a lawyer, the Kirby estate has essentially no legal ground to stand on. I'm sure their lawyers know this as well, but unfortunately it's not preventing them from trying to intimidate anyway. --Mark T
  8. Every page you have is a "hard one" to sell, because you don't price them correctly. They're not worth what you think they are. It's as simple as that and nothing more! $650 for a Vosburg Wonder Woman page is too high. Same goes for a $165 She Hulk page with a bunch of cars driving around on it. No one's out to get you. No one cares who's selling a page if it's priced fairly. Until you accept that, and come to an understanding of what the pages are actually worth (and don't base your prices on pieces that have been sitting forever on a dealers website), I think it's safe to assume you're not going to have much luck selling art. --Mark T
  9. Yes, I'm admitting on behalf of myself, (as well as for everyone else that didn't bid on your auctions - again), that we didn't bid on the pieces out of spite! You've figured out the only possible explanation on why they didn't sell. --Mark T
  10. Whoops....I guess I was mesmerized by all the fenders, bumpers, and quarter panel action, and must have missed her. --Mark T
  11. Not worthless. But obviously not worth as much as you think a Vosburg She-Hulk page with a bunch of cars and traffic lights should be. --Mark
  12. True..... But at least Miller has showed, in the past, that he knew how to draw anatomically correct. Liefeld hasn't. --Mark T
  13. I'd only pass on something that could ultimately never be properly restored. Something that has crayon coloring on it for example. I personally won't buy anything on vellum, which is a shame since some of my favorite Marvel covers for the 70's were done on vellum. --Mark T
  14. I threw 2 nice pieces into the Comiclink auction which ends tonight. The first is a John Byrne Superman pinup published in Superman:The Man of Steel Gallery #1 published in 1995. I've owned it since it was published: http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAuctions%2Fallsub.asp%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DJOHN%20BYRNE%23Item_1164131&id=1164131 The second is Matt Wagner's cover art to Adventures of Superman #628. http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAuctions%2Fallsub.asp%3FFocused%3D1%26id%3D1398%26Artist%3DMATT%20WAGNER%23Item_1164130&id=1164130 --Mark T
  15. It's not a waste of time letting people know about pieces up for auction. In fact this is probably the best place to make people aware of what is for sale. But if you didn't get any bids, that's probably more a reflection on the prices as opposed to them not knowing what you had for sale. --Mark T
  16. Paul Smith ( 80's work - X-Men). His art from this period (considered his prime by many) , looks too sparse to me. His layouts were uninteresting, and carried a stagnant line weight. When he did Leave It To Chance, I thought his style developed, and it worked much better on that book. I also think the current work I've seen from him has much more depth to it, and is very nice.
  17. 1. Will Eisner 2. Alex Toth 3. George Herriman 4. Kirby
  18. I've posted on the forum for the past few years looking for Hostess ads. Never had any luck finding one through the forum. --Mark T
  19. I have better pictures, but I'm not sure how to upload them. I did change this to a bigger image, so it may be clearer for you now. --Mark T.
  20. Finally getting around to doing some long overdue framing. Here's a Herriman Krazy Kat Sunday from 1938. --Mark T
  21. Anyone know where the John Byrne (6 page?) back-up story from his Amazing Spider-man #1 issue from 1999 is? It was a Spider-man origin story and I've been looking for it since it was published. Even if NFS, please LMK. Thanks, --- Mark T.
