  1. Watching the history channel made me pull out my copy...
  2. Love my sets and I have a spare set waiting to be cracked after this set falls apart
  3. I assume your talking a fair trade. I might be tempted to trade out a lot of value for a decent Marve Mystery 1 or Captain America 3, but more realistically I’ll just find one of those at a garage sale and keep what I have too ?
  4. Took a few pics recently ? would love to upgrade a few down the road. L. Renee ?
  5. And my copy for the color shift to even less orange ?
  6. Here’s one I found in a collection a few years ago. Unpressed and slabbed white pages. A little off center which is common with this issue?
  7. A fresh set of perspectives is always good. I’m a Collector and Socializer 1st (many things are not for sale and I love talking comics, Art, Story and the hobby of the hunt) Profiteer 2nd (sell to profit, mainly duplicates) Opportunist 3rd (buy more when priced right to fill the needs of 1 and 2 above) Reader 4th (I’ll admit I only read a fraction of what I once read, but when I do, the same sense of wonder can be found) Investor 5th (more of an unintended consequence of having collectibles that have historically gone up in value) Seller 6th (sometimes to make money, break even, lose money or clear space) Hoarder 7th (I find it difficult to just get rid of items even with little to zero value, but I’m getting better per item 6) I’ve been in both worlds having collected runs and filled holes for decades to the point of having many many thousand low grade to high grade runs of extreme variability. I’ve purchased collections and upgraded books and downgraded books depending on how I valued them at the time and if I thought I could use the money in a different way. I’ve hoarded a little bit as it’s easy to keep cool duplicates when they present themselves but ive inevitability sold most and moved that money into other purchases. I’ve bought books that will never leave and sold books I’ve owned one day. I’m a cog in the hobby I love and every now and then I fit in the machine and it works amazingly. I still thrill in the hunt and love sitting in a lounger sorting and looking through the collection which is very diverse. I have slabs but prefer raw. I have expensive but like the cheap just as much. What a great hobby that can bring such joy and can also be done on a budget and if smart will pay for itself. It’s all what you choose to make of it. Don’t begrudge the next person for making the hobby what works for them.? I still remember finding my first 12c little dot beater comic at the neighbors, the first Warlock brought home from my dad’s school and the first 10 cent superman I bought at an antique store for $20 (#59 in 4.5-5.0 and yes I still have it) along with my first 300 Comics that I wrote my name on the covers. Thats the hobby in “my” nutshell. Cheers?
