They decided only one could go back to the future (present) or something like that, and the other would have to "die" so they went into a cave and only one came out. They didn't show what happened in the cave. Highly likely he didn't actually kill him in case he failed himself and that would be a contingency plan.

I find the the lack of oxygen in the adamantium shell being sufficient enough to kill him inside and keep him dead. That's really been the only way that's been theorized on how to actually kill him and keep him dead. Of course there could be small holes from oxygen being released upon cooling. Giving him just enough oxygen to give his healing factor (that was miraculously jump started) a chance to keep him in a low energy catatonic state until freed.

Or the much simpler version and the most likely- Jean Grey Phoenix resurrects him after breaking/melting the adamantium shell. The Phoenix force is vastly overpowered and the connection Jean and Wolvie have always had will be the reason now that older Scott is dead. She chooses to keep him dead because he sucks and everyone hates him now.

LOL!!! Because he sucks and everyone hates him now. love it.

I can't see the adamantium being porous given its "unbreakableness" (its a word). My money is on the AoU wolvie. I think if one of them actually died they definitely would have showed it as a shock factor thing.

They will take the easy way out.  They will decide that his healing factor kicked in when he was about to die in the adamantium cocoon. But in his weakened state was not strong enough to break free. He has been alive but essentially comatose, and somebody will just have to discover a way to break him out. Problem solved, and yes almost identical to Jean Grey.

Ok. my issue with him coming out of the adamantium shell is that since being encased, he has had zero oxygen. and although his body can heal, I dont think it can make its own O2. So, I'm getting on board with the A0U Wolverine not actually being dead (I have no idea how that story plays out).

  3. How about it WAS Wolverine but the molten adamantium that is poisoning him triggers some mutation and his bones and skin absorb it until he is a Wolverine JUGGERNAUT and walks like the Hulk leaving earthquakes and foot prints everywhere he goes because he is so heavy.....and thusly goes on another journey to have someone extract a certain amount of the adamantium to how he was before but debates removing it all, but comes to terms that people will hunt him to disrupt any attempt of a peaceful existence for the rest of his life-----and becomes the normal amount of Wolverine/adamantium that we all know and love----Wolverine the best there is :) ?

Take this story, add in asking Magneto to help a brother out Fatal Attractions-style, and you got your OG wolverine back without much problem.

Or Mags finds the "wolverine statue" & strips the adamantium off him in order for them to give him a proper burial to someone he respected & a rival and we discover an emaciated Wolverine that's still alive inside because the shear damage of the molten Adamantium hitting him in the first place jump-started his previously removed healing factor (full disclosure: I don't remember how they made him killable in the first place. I didn't read that volume of Wolverine cause I got tired of all the relaunches)

    Omg I forget about magneto!!!

He could totally make a sweet lawn ornament outta that blob! With or without Wolverine inside. Preferably with.

  4. Maybe he's coated in generic adamantium that didn't really hold up as well as original adamantium. Times were tough and it was a little cheaper....got 3 out of 5 stars on google shop so didn't seem like a bad way to go at the time.

For F@k sakes, I knew it. Always comes down to money. Budget budget budget. Ugh.

Even super secret super-human manufacturing facilities like Department whatever or Weapons Plus or Weapon X run short on money. Especially when a certain someone is promising to slash budgets of government programs.

For a min I honestly thought you were referring to Justin Trudeau, then I was like, he he doesn't work for weapon H or whatever.

    .....Or does he...

  6. Has there been any issue # where a charachter came back from the dead that was worth anything?? I remember Superman taking forever to get to the point that I kept buying issues thinking, "it'll be this issue, man, it's gotta be"

I never said I was buying this... I don't buy comics lol!

  7. Or exposure to Adamantium in his blood/grafted to his bones for so long coupled with his healing factor changed something in his DNA based on his mutant genes. So, when he is covered in the Admantium, it slowly begins to seep into his system through his skin and getting into his blood. This begins to actually strengthen him and return his healing factor. He somehow survived w/o food or water (?) for a period of time. Somehow he emerges from the Adamantium block stronger than before and more rejuvenated due to the change in his blood.

I really have NO idea what I'm talking about. I didn't read how he died, how he lost his healing factor, etc. I'm just spitballing ideas (however dumb they are).

    You MUST work for Mavel!!!

  8. So Wolverines been gone for about 2 years now, and I've been having fun in my off time (waiting in lines, traffic, and pretending to listen to co-workers talk to me.) thinking up all the different ways Wolverine could return. So since i'm bored and the modern thread isn't helping, i'm hoping we can come up with some cool ideas!

So, lets look at facts. In Death of Wolverine, he is covered in molten adamantium which hardens around him. he has no healing factor (at the time of this) and the adamantium itself is poisoning him. So, Personally i think it's safe to say that however they do it, it will involve either clones, or time travel because that Logan is D.E.A.D..

I'm not sure if there is another Logan floating around from all of the time travel stuff that happened with the X-Men (Age of Ultron, All NewX-Men, the young ones i mean)

So my guesses are that Department K or whatever letter it is now, had taken wolverine and have him iced, winter soldier style, AND did successfully clone him (mostly) like they were trying to do with X-23. IF the dead Wolvie is a clone, it would be easy for them to say his healing factor failed because he was not complete or some cr@p, and would have died from adamantium killing him anyway unless they recovered him. I also think that this would give X-23 a chance to discover Logan (the real one) and free him again creating a symmetry or mirroring of events from when he found her. full disclosure I've only seen how he finds her from the Wolverine and the x-men cartoon and i'm not really sure how it actually happens.

I also think that this would/could possibly be used as a catalyst for the return of a more modern Alpha Flight or some version of that.

That's what I got. That's how I would do it. I mean, aside from not killing him in the first place.

    your turn.

  9. I'm really surprised more ALEX ROSS covers aren't going for a lot more based on the artist by name, same with FRANK CHO, in the same vein as JSC and AH!

I'm seeing a trend where certain "superstar" artists are seeing a huge hike in secondary market resale. JSC, AH, Dell'otto. but there seems to be a focus on these few artists which i find confusing because although I like JSC and AH, I'm way more into Artgerm and Ebas, and Clayton Crain, and Francesco Mattina (Spiderman 2099), and elias chatzoudis.

I collect what I like and if its valuable, then YAY! if not, then I still have some art i love.

I do see these hot covers holding strong and honestly once the well dries up and these are in PC's, I think they'll at least hold their value.

  10. How do you guys feel about these? There are a couple I really like like the New Wolverine and the two Clayton Crain's (more so Capt Marvel than Kingpin). My LCS said they're available if you order 90% of the previous month's issue. However I dont know if that allows you to buy as many as you want of the variant. Anyone shed light on this?

Hey, thanks for pointing out this site! It's really neat!

Also, Clayton Crain is the KING of symbiot covers. Period.

  11. Well this has turned out to be an entertaining visit.

The CBSI forum even more so. That was fun!

Everyone is obviously within their right to question what's going on--

the when, the how. the who - etc.

But to Linguini and Trey, I am not FOS. Unless you are me or Adrian or anyone else that has worked very hard these last several months, you could not possibly know anything of any material value.

    Right?

So why waste the time! Read a comic. I have one or 5 to recommend.

    Hallelujah!

About time someone tells those two to sit down, shut up, have a Coke Pepsi and a smile and read a comic!

  12. so, I'm just trying to understand this "conversation". Are people expecting creators to divulge any and all info on upcoming projects for the sake of speculation (and genuine anticipation)? or am i reading this wrong?

I'm glad Tim came to the boards and started a conversation about his book(s) and it was exciting to spec and hunt down the books (my fav part of collecting) but to hold a creator to your own expectation of the future of any project is ignorant. From a business perspective he or anyone on a project would be stupid not to back and promote their work. But, no one guarantees anything in comics, and if you don't understand that then it's probably a good time to jump off of the speculation bandwagon.

And if I misread the context of the conversation, just pretend I said something smart and carry on.

I joined the boards for serious discussions on comics not this kind of thing. I'm logging off.

    1. I automatically substituted logging for whacking in that sentence... is that weird?

    2. Sadly I sold most of my books but did just recently get back a Blackest Night #2 1:250 sketch variant and I love the cover!!! I was going to sell it, but I don't think I can. Only ever seen one other. Mine came back 9.6 so i'm pretty damn happy with that!!!
