  1. I'm going to have to call him don't think he would return a message as busy as he always is. Thank you @Robot Man
  2. If your still there would love to see closer pics of the Tec 27s
  3. Hey Mitch hope all is well. Ian got upset in 2015 when DC started doing the reboot stuff at number 1 again. I think he thought it was bad and lost interest in starting over with the new number 1 and he was being Haggled really bad by the buyer to sell. Guess the buyer thought he should have died by now, that is only my opinion. I just think he reached the point of DC starting over and being haggled to give the collection to the buyer and at that moment said take them. Ian now realizes he made a huge mistake selling and its all starting to hit him with seeing his life work going up for sale. I really feel for Ian because he was always an honest and fair guy to me with a great collection. I will say I was vary jealous of him since I could not get what he had but that is what people do.
  4. I have no idea. Kind of been between Ian messaging me at 3am and Ivan messaging me guess I am the go between since Ian is keeping his word not to contact Ivan. My understanding from Ian is he sold the books to party A with the understanding he got to keep them till he died. Ivan had the job to give party A the value of the collection what he thought the books were worth this was before covid and off they went to Auction house at 10 million Ivan said was worth only 3 mil. Party A still went for the 10 million he was told they were worth. Now party A gave Ivan the books to sell and permission to break the set up as he pleased. Kind of confusing But I am in contact with both Ian who has been an honest guy to me and a friend with the most passion for comics I have ever seen and Ivan who has been one of the most honest social media friends I had very sad situation for Ian who still loves his books but made one mistake that cost him a 40 year collection which might be in low and restored grades but they are there. Oh, I am in Rohnert Park 8 miles from Petaluma.
  5. Did anyone ever think Ivan knows the seller personally that's why he is selling them for him.
  6. No. close as I got besides the book itself. I could try different picture of it.
  7. More Fun 16 and New Comics 11 both have ads for Detective Comics #1. With a December 1936 date? Detective 1 changed to a March 1937 when it hit the stands. I would love to see your whole 1935 to 1938 titles.
  8. Yep, back cover is intact look at the date from the first Tec 1 add. I think it's more fun 16 the other one is more fun 33.
  9. Ian these boards are all about people who love comics. All comics I have known for years there are some people Family Friends who get jealous of other people success don't take it the wrong way. Things get said that are not really meant to be, but we all love comics that is why we read these boards and believe me people here are at about your collection.
  10. Ian I to have to congratulate you on this great collection you put together. I regret selling you my Detective 3 and 4 since I have a #1 and others. I know from experience since I have a lot of regrets when selling books just to buy other books. I enjoyed our talks last few days and has got me going thru a lot of my collection that has just been in a box for years. I know from our conversations that you are hurt over this, but you did do what was a lifelong dream and it did come true. Take care Buddy and I talk to you in a bit.
  11. He sent me one of these here is a 2004 scan still have the book but never went thru it. snap some inside pics the one is back cover.
  12. Thanks for the link. If I am correct, you have the Mile high 26? Ian sent me pictures of what he thinks are the rarest here they are.
  13. @Ian_Levine what was the last book you needed to complete this collection?
  14. I messaged Ian if Buzzy 70 was the last copy he needed he said no NA 26 was the last one. here is what he said. You are correct and he is wrong I sold the comics six years before my stroke Why do they hate me so much on the CGC Boards
  15. Was thinking maybe that book was so small that only Tec 3 and NA 26 was the hard ones to get. I would not be to be concerned about a Buzzy 70 just my thoughts. He messaged me at 3am today to tell me that he wishes the whole collection would be slabbed here is what he said that I never new. They were all photographed and used in Paul Levitz's book That alone gives them a unique pedigree
  16. When he bought my Detective 3, he told me Detective 3 and new Adventure 26 was the last 2 he needed to complete his collection, so I sold him my 3. I had a long talk with him today and a lot of things that I heard about what happened to his collection he said was not true. He did send me a picture of him with some books, but I had the picture already. He said---There are some seriously rare comics behind me I don't know what's true just going on what he said. July 29, 2004, when I sent him the Detective 3 he said all he had left was New Adventure 26
  17. Talked to Ian this is what he said. Yes it was 100% complete up to 2015 I would never have split it up My collection did not sell because it contained far too many restored comics I had two copies of Buzzy 70
  18. No, he had them all from our talks. The only book that was still up in the air was his Matt Nelson made Double Action 1 since than there was no copy that came up till later. I don't even know if that woman Cristine Farrell has a copy. I will get ahold of Ian today and find out if Scribbly was ever gotten.
  19. Talking to Ian on the phone Detective 3 and New Aventure 26 was among the last 2 he needed to compete his collection. I sold him my 3 so all he had left was this rare book.
  20. Easy 300k no problem I would pay 250k and I'm 1980s cheap its only unrestored untouched 1 time. I wanted a copy of Action 7 back and passed restored copy's but grabbed this right away and its ugly like @lou_fine just kidding @lou_finelooks like rock Hudsen. This is the worse 7 you could buy, and I paid over 20k, but I love having something unrestored.
  21. @lou_fineThe first pile could be anything. The second pic is a piece. I would think you would know better than show a nude picture of yourself here on the boards buddy.
