  1. Recent sales/GPA. 4.0 = ~30k 5.0 = ~50k. -J.
  2. Not surprising given that all ultra black cover. -J.
  3. The Voldemort holder was probably the biggest detriment for that 36. -J.
  4. Damn. Seller must have needed some fast money. That's a gift. -J.
  5. Nice. This and his wolverine 1 are his best non-pin-up covers hands down. Yours looks 9.8 fresh to boot ! And this ain't that easy in a 9.8 (similar to the ASM 678 VenoMJ). -J.
  6. Nice! The 0.5 closed on comiclink at $9125 tonight, making that 1.5 sale look like a fair deal for both buyer and seller at current FMV. -J.
  7. That's now two 5.0 results that make the $61k someone just paid for the 6.5 in the last CC auction look "cheap". -J.
  8. I think that blue 0.5 used to live in a purple holder. As far as FMV I would probably say $30-$35k. -J.
  9. You couldn't pay me to see Wonder Woman (although I expect everyone to universally sing its praises no matter how middling-to-bad it actually is). This, I won't necessarily rush to see on opening day, but it's definitely on my "must-see" list, if for no other reason than the inevitable Venom tease I just know is going to be in it. -J.
  10. "Back cover missing". Six of one half dozen of another, and more descriptive than simply saying "incomplete", no? It's a new label too, maybe that has something to do with it. -J.
  11. It does have an "incomplete" notation on the label. It's a 0.5, the grade can't get any lower than that. If it had the back cover it would probably have been a ~3.5. -J.
  12. This one may push $10k... http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAuctions%2Fsearch.asp%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3DDetective%2Bcomics%2B33%26GO%3DGO%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1179777&id=1179777 -J.
  13. Thanks for the Bloodshot sale link. Wow. Was that higher than the slabbed 9.8 sale that happened on Comic Link a couple months ago? Agreed about ASM 300, it really is the perfect book isn't it? It's an anniversary issue. It's a "hundreds" issue. It's got the first (full) appearance of a major, major character. It's got his origin. It's the last appearance of the black costume. It's got a classic cover. It's got art (cover and interiors) by one of the best artists of his day (or even all time). It's a part of a long running title of a major character. It's Spider-man . -J.
  14. I can't say I've ever seen any of those sell for $1000 raw, and certainly no time recently (especially the Superman Bradman which took a big hit when Blastoff Comics suddenly had a case of them to sell off many years ago). The Bloodshot I think would be considered a "modern" (1993). But even still, the fact that a private commission, an ashcan, and an indy error book would even be a part of the conversation when talking highest values for a CA book relative to something that was as heavily printed as ASM 300 is remarkable. -J.
  15. ~$1000 for a RAW copy?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-300-NM-NM-ORIGIN-1ST-APP-VENOM-HIGH-GRADE-WHITE-PGS-/302320158530?hash=item4663af8742:g:z6oAAOSw42JZHMFq Is there any other CA book without a turtle in it that has done that ?? -J.
  16. Skip it. Even 8 episodes was too much. Didn't need more than two. Same pretentious nonsense and filler over and over again. -J.
  17. Probably because that's what the one on Heritage just went for.... -J.
  18. .....and another for $2450 today.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-300-CGC-9-8-WHITE-PAGES-FIRST-APPEARANCE-OF-VENOM-/142391423803?hash=item212730b33b:g:rK0AAOSwL7VWpYbP -J.
  19. Lots of cheapskates on these boards. There's probably more than a few people kicking themselves for not grabbing it at that price. -J.
  20. So, uh....this just happened... http://www.ebay.com/itm/262997360480?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT -J
