  1. it sold here raw for $1200. I'm going to guess $2500 tops -J.
  2. Does anyone have an inkling on what the FMV of something like this might be ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/141692232229?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT -J.
  3. Ugh. The way his thumb is holding it so tight he's bending it. -J.
  4. There's actually 15 of the sketch cover convention version on the census, and 99 (also not very many) of the full colour 1:50 retailer incentive version which is actually very pretty. http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNCANNY-X-MEN-510-J-SCOTT-CAMPBELL-VARIANT-PSYLOCKE-COVER-VERY-HARD-TO-FIND-/131496932834?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9dd3f5e2&nma=true&si=ESVWMJNvXgebvopo3p97VILnUCs%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 -J.
  5. Agree with Harvey. Phenomenal copy. -J.
  6. Many completists don't consider convention books to be part of the "core run" of a title. That's why few convention books ever catch on. Even the UXM 500 sketch covers top out at $5-600. I think the fact that this book looks rare on the census and is a JSC cover is what keeps it going. Although this 9.4 looks to be one of two new copies to have recently hit the census in the last week. -J.
  7. That 9.4 is already $200 more than the $1000 the last 9.4 sold for in September. Considering this was a convention book that was handed out at two of some of the largest cons (SDCC and Heroes) I have been surprised by the legs it has had. -J.
  8. If I had to pick one I'd take the colour version. Both is my preferred option. Altough there will evidently be more than just those two versions. -J.
  9. There doesn't seem to be any previewed art for it yet, but the seller in that link says he is selling the colour version. -J.
  10. Yes "pending final art". Already pre-selling at $30 now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-RENEW-YOUR-VOWS-3-MIKE-DEODATO-VARIANT-VENOM-MARY-JANE-678/271898395855?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D31482%26meid%3D5deae818d5004567adb8dd54aaf72b4a%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D201369814662 -J.
  11. Not hairy enough. And still too tall! (Right amount of "dooooshbag" though) -J.
  12. Am I the only one that is ecstatic that Jackman will be done playing Wolverine after this movie? I was hoping he would have been axed for the DOFP movie. He is and has always been completely wrong for the part. I hear the next Wolverine will be more like the real, comic book version. Shorter, meaner, stockier, and more feral. That would be a great way to get audiences to forget this 6'1", genteel, Abercrombie and Fitch model- version of "Wolverine" nonsense that has been Hugh Jackman thus far. -J.
  13. I say someone should hunt him down and commence to public flogging. How dare someone appreciate this movie! -J.
  14. It's almost as if the author (aka snake oil salesman) of that article is deliberately and pointedly trying to turn all of the film's generally accepted and distressing negatives into a positive. Including the fact that BVS and Cap 3 are the much more anticipated films. Nice try dude. -J.
  15. A movie cannot be better than the sum of its parts, and let's be honest, so far most of the "parts" we've seen of this have been pretty depressing. That might not be a bad thing though, because with the bar being so low, many people may end up being pleasantly surprised if it ends up sucking less than it looks now. Marvel just makes better comic book movies than DC, it's a fact. But even they're not bullet proof. People aren't foaming at the mouth to see Ant-man, I think Paul Rudd was a horrific choice for the role (I do like the other casting in it though, especially Michael Douglas as Hank), and Ultron was . I agree with what Comic Connoisseur said earlier, this Suicide Squad movie is a BIG gamble for Warner and can represent a major pivot point for them, one way or the other. I personally just don't think this particular comic book property with this particular cast and this particular director was the wisest choice to gamble on, because frankly, so far, the movie looks like a mess. -J.
  16. $ is $ (thumbs u Anyone see this yet? Link. I think I'm gonna get one, on the off chance it takes off a little. I wouldn't expect anything like the real 678, but maybe it could reach a couple hundy for a 9.8 Should I make a Spidey 678 MJ owners thread? Or would it be too confusing with this thread? Jerome Yea and they increased the price from $9.99 (i got a big order in on them when it was $9.99) . My guess is these will be no where near the couple hundy tag in 9.8. Far too many. Comicxposure over produces variants. Yea, you are probably right; too many so the price will drop. I'll probably get a sketch and a color one. I don't see them on midtown yet tho. Jerome Ebay is abuzz about it. It's a cross between the 678 and the ASM annual #21. I would love to see a preview of the colour version. -J.
  17. But it's not.... So cryptic... is it not available from the distributor (I use the term loosely, for my rule I would consider Comicexposure the distributor since it's a store variant) or is it limited? I just checked and I was able to put 409 into my cart. OK, I guess you can call them the "distributor", I thought you were referring to Diamond. Why do people continually buy these pre-orders for any book on eBay for twice what you can get them for buy going directly to the source? They were all bought by the same person: y***d ( 886 ) maybe they know something we don't? What shocks me the most in looking into that is this What If? Wolverine Father This is the second easiest one for me to find next to Iron Man. I pass on these all the time for $5. Still haven't found a Spider-Man in the wild. You all must have missed all the Black Costume Deadpool Solicit pictures that show him getting the Symbiote suit that Spidey got in the original Secret Wars. Good catch. -J.

I wouldn't expect anything like the real 678, but maybe it could reach a couple hundy for a 9.8 Should I make a Spidey 678 MJ owners thread? Or would it be too confusing with this thread? Jerome I'll probably get one, thanks for the link! It looks pretty twisted ! And I think this thread is already sufficient as a de facto owners "club". (thumbs u -J.
  19. That's a sharp 8.0 with great signature placement. Congrats ! -J.
  20. Post-Secret Wars Deadpool is going to be the host for Venom, so Marvel can screw with Sony and Fox at the same time. I might have made that up. So no one else knows either then. -J. I love sketch covers and I've got quite a few!! But not every cover is better as a sketch. I like that I can see all the lines and in some cases shading. I find that inks cover up a lot of details. But, some covers just look too damn good in color. I've started buying both covers if I can afford it. But you're right. To each their own. +1 -J.

  22. Crack it, have it pressed by CCS and sent to CGC. Worth the money for sure The auction ends in 4 hours...I'm not ending it now. A little under $1400. Just a bit under the estimate I threw out several pages back. Congrats. (thumbs u -J.
