  1. Love the books brother, especially the Mystery 4! Congrats!
  2. Thanks brother... you get that scanner up yet? I want to see your recent pick ups!
  3. Here's some GA wins for me here recently that were very reasonable...
  4. If I recall that has some real intense photos in the middle of the book. Congrats!
  5. With the USPS shipping prices skyrocketing and the Canada loonie falling into the abyss I wonder when the shipping price in Canadian dollars will be worth more than the books inside???
  6. I always hated Black Panther 1. What the hell, a frog???
  7. I have always seen floating head covers of any size as lazy bad art. I really like this one. Oh yeah, that cover is tight! +1 But as they say another man's trash is another man's treasure.
  8. Man you must've hated Gil Kanes worm then... He was the floating head master!
  9. Good choice. The interior is just as ugly! I think it's more stupid than ugly. Oh, it is stupid too: Incredible Hulk 271 1st 4 pages I wonder what Rocket has in that pipe!
  10. As iconic as it is I've never been a fan of Hulk 181 and the interior art is even WORSE! Too bad Romita couldn't have stepped in on that issue...
  11. I know this is sacrilegious but I've always been underwhelmed by Ditko covers. They always lacked an 'oomph' of some sort. He was a great storyteller though. Come on Man ASM 3 kick raw booty!
  12. Some personal artwork? Thought some other DD fans would think it was cool. Guess not. I can't see what you are trying to show. i don't see anything is what I meant. What is the image of? It's an abstract cloth painting.
  13. I can't say that I regretted it, but it seems whenever I sell big keys to get another - the keys that sell just blow up... Why I can't regret it is because I got the books I really wanted and on the sell of keys I did at least break even or pay it forward to good people. Good Karma + Good Books + Great Friends = 0% Regrets!
  14. Picked up my first MLJ! Not flawless but this cover is just awesome!
  15. Thank you. I thought "5.5" myself, but 5.0 might be closer to reality. It makes me wonder if there's some massive opportunity to snag MCS offerings, then directly over to CGC for an uptick. Toss in fluff services and the mind boggles. There's no way that book is a 5.0 or 5.5 - it's crazy how people undergrade books from scans here all the time, with the sole exception being when they're actually selling the books themselves. He's referring to what MCS would grade it.
  16. better yet, I have a conference in Orlando in a month, I thinking of driving over and go talk to some one face to face about this. seriously over the last four submissions of 15 books there has been at least 1 book (sometimes more) that was messed up... That's a seven to fourteen percent failure rate for me alone. Hell, I have even nicer books that I'm almost afraid to slab because if this and that's just sad. Honestly I'd be embarrassed if I was part of a company produced second-rate workman ship like this.
  17. What is going on with the friggin' book edges during encapsulation??? I sub about 2 subs a year and on every sub there is some issue - either the labels are swapped or I've even seen a case where the book was in the wrong case all together. This problem is getting out of hand though. It's the treatment of the tip ends on the books. The book weren't subbed this way, but are getting crushed on the edges during encapsulation. Over the past I've been the hell with it, it's not worth the drama, effort or time to send this back and get cracked and pressed out. I'm changing my tune pretty fast though. These three are books that just said the heck with it and sent to cosigner (I just didn't want to tie these books up any longer) As such I deleted the the serial on these. #1 #2 Here's another Avengers 58 that I picked up under GP because of this defect (what the hell do these guys got against this issue???) #3 This one burned especially since this is heating up... This is what I got back today! I truly hate this! This was from a one owner collection that picked these up off the newsstands in the late 60's and cherished them. Not only that this has a cool color variant where the royal blue had less of a hit making the book a lot more purple. This smash instead of the bottom is on the top and goes all the way a few inches. Even if this was pressed again and re-slabbed I think the best would be a VF- This book doesn't deserve this and just leaves me shaking my head! If this was during shipping from sarasota then it's time to rethink the packing methods. (None of the other 14 books were effected though, nor was the package beat up???) This is beyond disappointing! I just don't get it, where is the quality control???
