  1. Jaybuck has already called Buddy and Conan... They're investigating it now.
  2. you should put his head on a spider-man's body... Excelsior!
  3. Did Mycomicshop have this in hand before the auction? I'm not sure. I hope either Buddy or Conan can put a stop to this foolishness right now!
  4. The ultra bad thing is GP points that this flipped for $1,400 and the buyer ate over a thousand bucks on this mistake!
  5. Negative! I either buy raw to submit myself or buy a graded book by way of the books appearance as a representation of that grade (in this case - Thank God!)... this is mind numbing to say the least.
  6. I have a 7.0 copy of ASM 5 that looks under graded and presents like an 8.0... I bet next to this copy it would present like a friggin' 9.6!!!!
  7. someone found a way to crack a case without damaging the nods slip it out and replace an 8.0 book that was in there with a VG+... Seems like an awful lot of work for 2k... All signs point that this "IS" legit! A huge bumble by CGC... But still, No QUALITY CONTROL?
  8. That was my thoughts originally. But this number just flipped on GP... The case nodules don't look to be modified. I gave it a 5.5 tops.
  9. First off before you open the spoiler to reveal the grade look closely and think about the grade you would give it and post the grade you would give based off of the cover alone. Trust me even if you opened the book and rays of sunshine sparkled out you'll never think the inside would give it this much of a bump!...
  10. The scan that I found only had a blurred face for Wertham. I added the red ink. damn brother and here I thought there was another gruesome panel I needed to get...
  11. YES! It's Wings 86!!!! using GCD as a guide look at the last story, it's a Ghost Squadron and look at the indexer Notes! This needs to be updated so no one is misled if they are looking for a copy with this panel in it. (thumbs u
  12. Got a sweet deal from Robert! All grades are spot on! _w
  13. I like Lichtenstein, but I do believe that there should have been credit and compensation for any work that his "modeled" this paintings after. I compare this to samples of music that got halted after the late 80's where an artist had to give recognition and compensation to the work. The Beastie Boys created one of the best rap albums of all time with their release of Paul's Boutique, but that LP had more stolen samples than any other album before and became the poster child for reasons why artist had to protect their works. Vanilla Ice was the one 1st to be really publicly called out after the new rulings and he had to pay and give credit and has been the standard ever since. I see no difference. (thumbs u
  14. Even though I have multiple copies of this book (graded and raw) I love to see stuff like this even if makes my copies worth less... why??? because it's a great book and a fun read! To me it's sad if the only reason a person buys comics is to flip them. Solid books like this one are to be enjoyed. With that said, this book is personal favorite because it's such a cool holiday story. Hell I wouldn't mind if they found a whole warehouse full of them if it meant that others could find the same enjoyment as I do when I read mine. It's kind of weird, but over a decade ago I got lucky and a theatre gave me a whole box full of ASM 129 movie reprints. I knew they would be worth something some day, but I still gave them out as halloween books that year for kids in the neighborhood. Did I lose money? Sure maybe $500 worth, but to see those kids eyes light up was worth it to me. Call me a crazy old man, but it's hard to put a price tag on that feeling.
  15. Can't help but wonder when we will hit the saturation point. Don't get me wrong, this is all super exciting (especially the next three Avengers movies), but that's a LOT of movies based on superheroes. yeah this is close to the amount of cowboy movies of the 50's. the only difference is that those movies were 100% fluff with hardly any substance. As long as the quality keeps up it should be all good. At least I hope so.
