  1. Ha! Something told me to hold off on buying it. Sucks to be those people who paid $100+.

Really sucks for whoever shelled out $700 for the final splash page of original art. Good for Cory Smith, though.

I completely disagree, no matter what happens in future issues he DIED in this issue. It was confirmed by the character Angel Bridge in the dialogue, not to mention every single news outlet that has printed a story about the events. Turtles die in real life when their shells are compromised, and that's exactly what Bebop and Rocksteady did to Donny. Will a serum/mutagen/ooze bring him back?..... probably.

Wolverine will be back, but that doesn't mean he didn't die in Death of Wolverine 4

This will be an iconic panel forever in my opinion. $700 was a steal.

Except in the preview art for the future issue posted by Adonis the dialogue reads "he very nearly lost his life"

It would appear that you have some amount of money tied up into this and are desperately clinging to the idea that he is dead.

    Your assumption is incorrect ......

No, I would believe its pretty accurate.

    You were saying?

    1. Why are you a member of the google plus groups if you hate it so much?

    2. What is the name you use on google+, I want to make sure I'm not following you.

Because despite the idiocy of the owner, plenty of good information gets posted there and 98% of the users seem like perfectly fine individuals? Also not a member there.

Speaking of the owner, I point out that he was monetarily invested in TMNT 44, which he denied and now I've been made aware that he put a bounty on my personal information? This falls somewhere between being creepy and scary. Its also pathetic.

Something like this happened when that group first started up. The original beef was with Jimmy. Not sure if things got worked out...

    Link

Considering Jimmy's earlier comment on regards to also onquiring about Darkstar, it's not too hard to figure out.

  2. I'd wager this season ends with No Way Out, and then next season covers the "A Larger World" Arc with either the season or mid-season finale being Negan next season.

Too logical for an Internet chat forum.

Which one? It seems there has been a number of ever-restarting series written by Brubaker… hm

BTW, before that, I have just read the story arc "Powerless" (drawn by Alan Davis) and was not much convinced, although I found Brubaker a lot better than the average choice of writers of the Quesada/Bendis management.

    Volume 5 #'s 1-25 is my recommendation. (thumbs u

Great run, gets kind of weird after that like it was heading towards being an Invaders book but not really.

  3. Just to change the topic a little.

Take a peek at Walking Dead 100 2nd and 3rd prints. They are starting to smoke.

2nd & 3rd have been commanding a premium for awhile now. 1st prints are actually starting at $20 on the Bay now which is a first. I can already see what will happen when this season ends if Negan makes an appearance...

Why would Negan appear this season, or even next? Have you ever figured out what issue in the comic are they on in relation to the show? They stick pretty close in terms of time structure while the story may not be the same.

  4. All this talk about Valiant and no one even mentions that Ninjak #1 sold out last week?

Comics pro variant sold as high as 70.00

Rai #1 has like 4 printings and the 1st wasn't going for more than cover last I checked.

There are LOTS of covers to the Rai #1 first printing.

The 1:75 Aja variant sells for quite a bit more than cover price ($35 or so).

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/381183104092

There's also a Rai #1 Gold variant... which seems to be a popular collectible for Valiant now.

It's basically impossible to get every Valiant variant, so some collectors are just trying to get every Gold.

A 1:75 should be going for at least $75, IMO.

  5. What if this book starts heating up? :gossip: (It already has . . . )

What If 10 - Jane Foster as Thor

    hm

I could see that getting some heat :flamed:

It was hot a while back when people were speculating that she might be the new Thor.

Now is the true definition of an outlier .

You said the same thing about my last sale of this issue at $36 . . . lol

Is it not? In the past 3 months there have been two that sold for $20 + ship and then then next closest is $9 + ship.

I love me some 2nd appearances.

    And 3rd and 4th too.

But yes, I am in the vast minority,

I like 2nd and 3rd appearances when they go up in value because the 1st app get too expensive ;)

Waiting for Marvel Premiere 16 to take off.

  6. Yeah, but what's gonna' be insane with this Valiant movie hype, minus Magnus, Solar & Turok, is most of the 1st appearance keys are post-Unity, w/ 100k+ print runs.

We're gonna' see books w/ insane print runs for today that peaked at maybe $15 in 1993 reach $50-$60 or more. Literally $.50-$2 for the last 15 years.

I don't expect post-Unity first appearance books like Bloodshot #6 to be able to sustain the high prices from the past week.

There are just too many of them... and Ninjak probably isn't going to have 400,000 fans clamoring for a copy.

If the first appearance of Doomsday is still under $100 for a CGC 9.8, it's hard to imagine the first appearance of Ninjak above $100 for a CGC 9.8.

The print run on Bloodshot #6 is probably higher than Man of Steel #18.

    It is?

    It is

    Oh, 1st full Doomsday, gotcha.

  7. I didn't realize Thor was so popular.

Nameless debuted at 40K+, which is strong.

Moon Knight at 23K. More people should be reading this title.

Lady Killer #2 under 7K. No wonder they are getting some nice prices.

I think people were upset that Ellis only did the first 6 issues, although Brian Wood is no slouch either.

  8. Yeah, but what's gonna' be insane with this Valiant movie hype, minus Magnus, Solar & Turok, is most of the 1st appearance keys are post-Unity, w/ 100k+ print runs.

  9. Pittsburgh Comics is awesome, as are NDCs, Duncan Comics, etc, but Eide's is the worst comic shop I've ever been in.

Except for one guy, the comic employees are all "Comic Shop Guy" and I never leave there not feeling like I've been disrespected by them.

They must only treat the high-rollers well because they are a bunch of jerks.

Example : Was purchasing a 8.5 Swamp Thing (1972) #1 just because I'm a Wrightson fan, didnt really care about high grade. Employee in the background : Why would you buy that? Can't you afford the 9.4?

Now I'm in financial management, and pull down a pretty decent salary but I didn't bother to call him out on it, but that's the the typical transaction with them. I always hear them saying similar things to other customers as well, so I haven't been back there for over a year now because they aren't worth it. F' them....

They had a nice Suicide Squad #11 there for me on Friday for $3.50.

  10. Sg 34 was hard to find when it first came out....maybe doomed storyline completists want it.

Just found out is low print as well, but didnt really look into how many copies, at least the cover is cool.

A low print in terms of what? Its low printed compared to earlier in the series when the book was selling over 30k copies, but it had a significantly larger print run than the previous lows in the series.

Low for DC, but it's still above Justice League Dark surprisingly.

  11. Why isn't The New Avengers #31 heating up? This issue revealed that

Dr. Doom is Rabum Alal (the Great Destroyer), and is the reason why the Marvel Universe is ending in May. Plus, Dr. Doom looks completely kick butt, and is the leader of the Black Swans... And it needs to answer how he is the catalyst of this event that started in Issue #1, when he just disappeared two issues ago...

Stuff like that isn't typically what sells books these days...unless it's Sleepwalker. Personally that doesn't interest me either.

  12. Marvel is hyping up Shiklah with This - Not too sure if this will catch or not, but Deadpool Dracula's Gauntlet 3 & 4 are both cheap and plenty around.. I got a few copies just in case this blows up

I think it's just the Deadpool Gauntlet series, which is a digital comic only. I think this is a first, what's her first printed appearance then?

Her first print appearance is (if my reading of a calendar is right, which it is sometimes sketchy), the wedding issue (Deadpool 27)

Everything prior to that was digital only.

Going to submit my jump drive to get slabbed :wishluck:

  13. What happen to the old Valiantfans library area where you had all these details posted on every book? Did something get wiped out?

Decided to re-write all the website code last year... changed webhosting companies (also went from Windows to Linux) and decided to update the 1999 code I was using.

Unfortunately, work and home (toddler) have gotten in the way of code-writing for my hobby.

I really used to like looking at the print run numbers for each book on that site. I went back after it was redesigned and couldn't find that info. as easily. Is it still there?

  14. Marvel is hyping up Shiklah with This - Not too sure if this will catch or not, but Deadpool Dracula's Gauntlet 3 & 4 are both cheap and plenty around.. I got a few copies just in case this blows up

  15. Some books I have seen climbing lately looking at overall sales. Some are movie hype while others are just good stories people want to read or look for higher grades.

    Omega Men 3

    Thor 321

    ASM 229-230

    PP 107-110

    Labyrinth 1 or Set 1-3

    SS 23,48 & 49

    ASM Annual 22

    Green Arrow Mini Set 1-4

    Howard the Duck 33

    Flash 323-24

    Superman Annual 11

    Thanks for the list!

Thor 321 was hot for a little because people were thinking that Freya in that story was going to be the woman Thor, when in fact it was no relation to the Freyja mentioned in Thor #1.

I would swap that with Thor 390 though.

Howard the Duck #33 looks like the error version sells pretty well. Regular cover around $5.

  16. Kind of baffling that a somewhat talented and pretty well known actor gets cast for a Marvel comic book character and the book gets no bump in price but an MMA fighter causes a book to temporarily jump from $1 to $50 and settle around $20.

    Daredevil Redemption #1

Maybe if people weren't so cryptic with their posts on this forum...

    Drea de Matteo

do people care about these limited tv appearances though?

Who said it was a limited appearance? I have a hard time thinking they would sign an actor like this for one or two shows.

  17. Conquest Comics has replied to my email and willing to make things right. I"m very pleased with the results. Will have to ship the items back to Conquest before they'll ship me out some new copies though (hopefully individually bagged and boarded).

    Those guys are aces.

Chris is one of the best.

Buy there with confidence, Comic shops are small business that sometimes experience growing pains due to massive influx of business.

    They will make it right.

You just cant win as a small shop. I don't know maybe try contacting them before air out the laundry here.

We all want comic shops, but we do are darnest to try to hurt their business or reputation every chance we get.

Would you ship 3 comics in one bag to someone who bought something from you on these boards? We all want comic shops, nobody is telling a comic shop to sell things that have to be mailed. That is their choice. They are in the business of collectibles and should have a firm grasp on the importance of condition in regards to collectibles.
