  3. Not sure what defects are on case vs book but those I see that are most likely on book, tears on bottom, and stress on bottom staple, rough top cover would keep this book in the 7 range, at best. If that white discoloration on spine and black smudges on cover are on the book it's going way lower. No way near 500k let alone 1mil IMO.
  4. It doesn't take much to get our northern neighbors excited.
  5. Wow, 2 early Planets in amazing grade,, simply stunning! Looks like they were printed yesterday!
  6. I personally like the books in the Avengers/Defenders war I think you can snag most in NM today for between 70-100. My fav would be Defenders 10, which has a Hulk vs Thor battle. I know there was minimal to no movement in OSPG this year but that's what I'm going with. See you in 2040. (When I'm 66, hopefully)
  7. Got my prize from @Red84 today! Thanks for the books and extras!
  8. There's a few CBC on the top and bottom right corners and a little stain on the top right back cover. Not complaining though, just happy to have it.
  9. Forgot the main reason for the visit. Just bought my first western price variant. Kid Colt 207
  10. I think this was just auctioned off again by the same seller. Looks like the same book you are talking about. I bid on the most recent one but didn't win but something must have happened with that original sale for it to have fell through. The winning bid on the newest auction was private too. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Fury+141+variant&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=07078&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&LH_Complete=1
  11. I needed a good laugh. That one is a gem. He probably has it listed for double that on CL.
  12. Aren't graders notes free to the submitter? Are you just stating anyone should have access to graders notes with just a CGC cert number for free?
  13. I agree, very cool cover and the "duck pole" she's tied to is off the hook!
  14. Did he bring this to the police yet? I'm certain they will catch this guy and he's looking at at a 3rd degree grand larceny charge with probable jail time. Sucks to be him.
  15. I would think if you are grading and deducting points starting from a 10pt scale, there must be some things, no matter how minor that are bringing it down and would personally like to see notes on what those defects were.
  16. Ugh, hate to see this. Will keep an eye open for them. Don't see them on the bay right now. If this happened to me with these high $$ books, knowing what he looks like I'd probably take a few days off of work and just camp outside most of the day hoping he walks by and pounce especially if there is other video/photo of this guy actually opening the package. That spidey being stolen is a heartbreaker.
  17. I don't really collect to many moderns, with some keys being the exception. A general rule is that I'll buy the highest grade I can afford at the time. If I really want a higher grade I'll just buy less books for a period of time and save up for it. If I had a personally scale I'd use: Moderns - 9.2 - 9.8 Bronze - 8.5 - 9.6 Silver - 6.0 - 8.5 (Big Keys I'd look between a 2.0 - 5.0) Gold - I'll take almost any grade....
  18. If this is the case, unfortunately (for buyers) I personally don't see this reflected in the prices books are selling for. Doesn't seem to be creating any downward pressure at least in the genres I collect.
  19. If you read the thread from the beginning, as I asked if you had, you would have seen that, clearly.
