  1. Just found this in a local Phoenix comic shop. G-...$5...I couldn't resist, even though the book is a piece of garbage with all that tape on the cover...now the question is-should I put it in a mylar?
  2. So, is the #3 really difficult to find? In 1994 I filled all my gaps by looking at dealer lists and placing want ads in the old CBG...it wasn't hard to get all the books I needed at that time.
  3. Yes, they were nice. I've been a Dennis collector since junior high (1965). I picked up that #1 in 1978 from Terry Stroud at the old American Comic Book Company in L.A. He called it "mint". I don't think so...not with that upper corner piece missing , but it was only $10, so who cares... The OP said something about #3 being scarce...here's mine: I have run of #1 thru 108...I'm not interested in the later issues because the art deteriorated in the issues leading up to #100.
  4. $459 for a 2.0? Whoa...what does that make mine worth? I never thought Dennis' were an over-guide title... Arkadin: Congrats on the #4... BTW, what happened to the guy who started this thread? He hasn't posted since 2008.
  5. Joe Nacca...I just bought a bunch of books from him and I'm not sure if 10% matched up with the reported grade. I used to buy books from him in the 90s, when he had a lot of scarce and under-priced stuff. I learned to expect 0.5 to 1.0 less in grade than he advertised. When I called him on it he said everyone else was under-grading...I don't buy from Joe no more... but back in the day he was a good source, as long as you knew how he graded. I think these days, at least in his eBay listings, he has been shying away from listing an exact grade and has a lot of hedging language in his descriptions. Maybe he's been burned by too many returns. What's his ebay name? I'll avoid it...
  6. I see you have a Herby Skogland copy of Action 39...nice...a new pedigree? I like your asking price....It makes me feel good about mine...
  7. While not a comic, I still don't think any serious Superman collector should be without one of these :
  8. Very Nice...how do you follow a post like that? Maybe with one that was missing from those group shots...

  10. Have you bought books from Joe Naaca or Richie Muchin, and how do they fit into these totals if so? I would figure Joe would be somewhere below Harley...
  11. There are several dealers I know of that would fit #2. I avoid all of them. I think it is important to provide the names of the test subjects so the public may be better informed about those dealers. Perhaps a general boycott would force them to shape up...
  12. OK, thanks. I could only find one pic of it on the internet...
  13. I only have a few pulps and I don't know where most of them are, but here's one. Is this a good one? (Serious question)
  14. That's a classic Jimmy cover. I have that one too. I need to get busy and scan all my silver books. I'm not content with just a list anymore...I want scans. I think this is another obsession...
  15. Ohhhhh...you should never sell a comic book...
  16. Yes, but there's no Supe 24, so he can just bring those to me and I'll hold them for him until he gets that straightened out ...
  17. Wait a minute Richard...let me get this straight...no Superman 24? (gasp) What kind of collector are you?
  18. Sounds good. How will I know who you are? Should I wear a badge that says, "HI! I'm tricolorbrian!"? I've never even seen that Lois 106. It came out after I quit buying the title. Hmmm....might have to look for one of those. I would have bought more of the cheap Jimmy's but i didn't have my list with me and wasn't sure which books I needed. Probably all of them... Well, anyway...it was a fun little show. See the Gold forum for the 3 holy grails I picked up there. Oh yeah...I read the main story in #60...absolutely nauseating... I just can't read Jimmy's anymore...but the covers are so stupid they're cool.
  19. OK...so you guys inspired me to buy some cheap silver again...I got these for less than $7 each yesterday at Terry's show. They actually look much nicer in person. My scanner brings out all the warts... :
  20. I was at a show yesterday in Orange county, CA and met a guy named Ken from Las Vegas (inaflash). Is that the same Ken? I got some cheap Jimmy's and a cheap Lois from another dealer. I'll post pics later.
  21. PM sent. When I wrote DickCole with a space it came out spoon Cole, so I fixed it, but now i see what you did...
  22. Well, Hep, should I post my J.O. #24...? Also, there is what appears to be a Cookeville copy of J.O. #1 on Ebay right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Supermans-Pal-Jimmy-Olsen-1-Sep-Oct-1954-DC-/201014281946?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2ecd6286da
