  1. it was ok -- a few incredibly ridiculous things like the part where she is saying that they need to get this enormously destructive material back to MANHATTAN? umm-- WHY would you expose NYC to that stuff--- ever? was it too safe on some farm land in the middle of nowhere?

there were other things like that which annoyed me. The only other I will mention is that she went along with getting a place at that womens dormitory (more or less what it is) -- where there is a strict dress code and curfew. How is that going to help her? God forbid she stay at one of Starks mansions-- like that inept bunch of co-workers would figure anything out.

It was well shot, well made. Just not so well thought out. We'll see how the rest of the 7 part series goes.

PS-- if you don't like it XXXXX, why post here? No one cares that you are ONLY recording it to see a teaser that is easily found on the web.

  2. While watching last night's episode, I couldn't help but think that Gotham was a step down for Morena Baccarin. The writing is just so much better on Homeland.

I half expected you to say a step down from V

  3. I'm sure there is a ton of drek in there, but there also could be some decent stuff too.

For me, it would depend on how much the seller would take for it all.

It's way too far for me, but I would EASILY give them a grand for it all. lol Heck, I know I would offer more than that sight unseen. lol

    At a nickel each, that's $2500.

seems like a lot of work and downstream costs after the initial purchase. Storage, moving that load, all the work selling it. Even at 1000 dollars-- seems like you are buying a headache.

  4. Last purchases of 2014.

New Years resolution is to take a month or two completely off from buying and focusing on thinning the herd. The ASM 16 was an upgrade that I had wanted to do for awhile and I was watching this particular copy. My old copy was a 5.0 which was also cr-ow. When the seller discounted it by 25% I grabbed it before someone else did.

The Captain America was a ummm late night purchase that I made on 12/30 after going out. It has been in my watch list for quite some time and I made an offer that was accepted.

umm.... not so fast - owner cannot find but we are working on a substitute or a refund.

oh no-- the ASM or the Cap?

Love that ASM cover with DD on it.

  5. did he block you?

Not sure if this is dishonest on purpose or just a sloppy non-caring seller. There are tons of them on there. It amazes me they sell anything at all with their crapppy descriptions, lack of pictures, and goofy attitudes.

It is really a mine field sometimes and you have to almost triple check an ad to make sure they haven't snuck some detail into the ad that passes off the true condition. THe thing that sucks most about these people is they give hard working and attentive sellers a bad name just by association.

just checked out his other listing --

clearly he never uses his own pictures for anything as he has another comment about "crayon on the title" in the Hulk 234 he is selling for 10 with 10 shipping cost-- who the hell would buy this garbage? Note that the picture has a mycomicshop.com watermark.

  6. Your mentioning the wife being annoyed reminded me of the one time I went recently to look for comics at a flea market. I made the mistake of bringing someone along who has no interest in comic books. We spent the whole time looking for curio cabinets for her. When I finally went to look at my intended target (some booths with comics only), suddenly there was a huge interest in getting home by a certain time.

    Know how that feels :taptaptap:

the worst part of it is that you feel rushed even if they leave the area. That is the wrong way to look through comic books. I ended up pulling a few books to the side but eventually just gave up and bought nothing. She bought about 30 bucks worth of stuff.

  8. Two buyers failed to pay for items they won from me.

Send invoices several times, and a couple of messages.

Komic-Kazi never responded to any message, opened an unpaid item claim and never responded. I think he is a board member, but I am not sure

edtigger99 answered my payment request saying he was sick but he would pay soon. Never paid and communication stopped. I don't know if he is a member here.

Invalid user i.d. on Komic-Kazi. The spelling, capitalization (or lack thereof) and punctuation need to be exactly as they appear on eBay in order for them to be added to the blocked list.

if you use the FIND MEMBER feature, you can type in the name and it ignores case. It will then go to the right person or list possible members that fit your search. Block member does not have that capability and has to have exact case correctly typed in.

Here is the correct case for this person:

    Member id komic-kazi

FYI -- find member link is http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback-login.html

  9. Add board member oceanavekid to your block list of nonpaying bidders.

No response to emails, PMs or eBay communication.

    Ebay user handle is crisis_comics

I'll amend this to say that it appears an "E-Check payment" has been initiated through paypal. I'll hold my breath and wait, but there still has been absolutely zero response to any of my prior attempts to reach out to this person.

In fact, I wouldn't have even realized it, because there was no notice sent---except when I went to close the non-payment via eBay that I opened a few days back, there was a memo stating that an e-check payment had been initiated.

So, in closing---waiting for funds to clear but still color me disappointed that he couldn't be bothered to communicate with me, rather then let this escalate to the point where I have to file a non-paying bidder alert AND bring it to the boards.

I really didn't want to that. Simple response to any PM, email or eBay email could have avoided all these headaches. :sorry:

    AND----e-check cancellation.

With a new e-check payment initiated.

Moving over to probation threads with this one.

    Thanks for the tips, guys!

not to take sides here but when someone is not communicating and you are sending them message after message, you may be the one spiraling out of control.

Not like a lunatic-- just letting this get to you far more than it should.

I understand you have "standards" as far as when you expect payment. But why let it bother you at all? I simply set up the automatic payment service to the levels I am willing to work with and let all the communication happen through them. If the buyer is contacting me and asking for more time etc, I will tell them to expect the automated response and that I am fine with how they handle it. If it goes past a certain period of time, I will cancel the sale and get refunded the fees. A lot depends on what the item is of course-- I can be very patient with stuff I have had a hard time selling. If I have five other bidders waiting in the wings -- I might be a little more on point.

just my take - the few times I've had to deal with an e-check made me turn that option off. Takes so long for the money to clear.
