I have had a lot of private interest in this one but nothing finalized so I will put it up here and see if we can move it. Shipping is included. I would sell outside of the US but shipping will be on the buyer in this case. Payment via paypal, wire or check will be accepted. I like trading and would be open to entertaining a trade if that is of interest. No returns on CGC books. I'll take it in the thread would override any ongoing negotiations. I am asking $4,000 for what I believe to be the nicest entry level Detective 30 in existence. Spine damage brings the technical grade down but the eye appeal is that of a mid grade copy. Sorry for the glare its sunny here in California! Thanks for looking

hopefully the consignor feels the same as you guys do! that is considerably lower than i expected. it seems pre-robins may be experiencing a bit of a correction at this time? while rare they have been easy to find lately within each auction cycle if you have the funds.

Yep, we are in the 1990's collectibles pre-crash
rainmaker replied to Mercury Man's topic in Comics General
whats even crazier is one /100 is already almost to 30k! https://www.ebay.com/itm/2018-Bowman-Chrome-Shohei-Ohtani-Rookie-Atomic-Refractor-Autograph-38-100-Auto/222944590484?hash=item33e8887a94:g:XooAAOSw2q9a33M~ op your comparing this sale to the 90s market is really off base. the $60k card in question would probably sell for considerably higher if it gets pulled soon. ohtani is an interesting figure bringing foreign money into the scene. is it a lot of money? yes. will it be worth this much in 2 years? no way. is it good for baseball cards and collectibles? contrary to your initial thoughts, yes. -
Big key collecting question...Would you rather
rainmaker replied to UncleAnwar's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
there seems to be a nostalgic hold for ff1 among board members. i get it, i really do, but as someone who didnt grow up reading or collecting the fantastic four i would much rather have the other 3 books. -
per pm, this beauty is headed to SoCal!

Help me choose which comic to buy! Brittle pages vs White.
rainmaker replied to Spartcom5's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
i have a hard stop at brittle, would never touch it regardless of how nice the cover looks. whether this is minimal or the pages are about to fall apart into dust, the perception of 'brittle' on the label is a deal breaker for most collectors. -
i just love this book!

Show me your Timely's and I'll show you mine. Have a Cigar...

Decided to wade over to this side of the pool for a minute. My first Timely. Go big or go home I suppose... -

Yes the flood to the market is interesting. Makes sense as the prices are absolutely insane at the moment. With the pent up demand if one seeks and has significant profits to gain it is a good time to unload.

Buying guidance NEEDED / 6K to invest...
rainmaker replied to mjasonuk30's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
cleanest high grade 181 you can get (would 5300 afford a premium 9.4? book seems to be going up, up and away right this minute). white pages, perfect wrap, rich colors. dont let the others sway your opinion. if a cherry 181 is the book youve always wanted make it happen! i wouldnt go 9.0 of each 181/129. they are great books but just too common. 9.2+ for either of them is the way to go. youd always be able to get a copy and i feel buying a 9.0 is just getting a copy. good luck -
some interest on the hit but nothing done yet.

Incredible Hulk #181 - is it *that* red-hot?
rainmaker replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
great cover, first appearance of one of the top 5 all time popular heroes... whats not to like? perfectly wrapped book with deep colors and white pages already bring a premium, but they will start to separate even more dramatically as time goes on. set a budget, find the best copy you can and dont look back -
fantastic. ss 14 is such a great cover. must feel great finishing it off with such a cool bang!

if this is one consignor they are doing it waaaay wrong.

rainmaker replied to kazoo's topic in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
Just waiting on my wife this one is too good too pass. I'll take it -
its just nutty to think about just as examples: 10,000 hulk 181, 50-60 honus wagner t206, under 50 blue detective 33. its a unicorn! as are all prerobins.
