  1. That is a good approach. I'm stuck in the mindset that I have to wait for it to make sense to submit all 10 copies I have of a book all at once. Here's the submission I have put together so far, mostly Star Wars: Star Wars: High Republic 1 (cover A) x 14 - left out 6 that I don't think can hit 9.8 Star Wars: High Republic 1 (Hans) x 1 Star Wars: High Republic Adventures: The Monster of Temple Peak x 1 - leaving out another 9 copies that I don't think can hit 9.8 Star Wars: High Republic Adventures 2 (Retailer Incentive) x 1 Detective Comics 583 x 1 (probably 9.4, 9.6 on a good day) Spider-Man 1 (Silver) x 2 Maybe the following 5 to get to 25 books: Star Wars: High Republic Adventures 2 x 3 - I have 7 more Star Wars: High Republic Adventures 1 x 1 - I have about 20 more War of the Bounty Hunters - Jabba the Hutt 1 (Cover B) x 1 - I have 9 more
  2. Time for an update, showing last three sales for raw and CGC 9.8s. Overall don't really appear to see gains as a result of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series or the recent show announcements. High Republic 1 (cover A) Raw - $21.50 / $34.99 (best offer) / $39.95 CGC 9.8 - $127.50 / $124.99 (best offer) / $115.00 I really like the $125.00 price point for the CGC 9.8, I believe its strong enough for me to send in my ~20 raw copies to CGC. High Republic Adventures 1 Raw - $9.99 (best offer) / $6.20 / $10.50 CGC 9.8 - $60.00 (best offer) / $66.00 / $59.99 Still haven't seen this one reach its potential. Reasonable to assume it was ordered less than the Marvel High Republic series, this should pop eventually. High Republic Adventures 2 Raw - $19.99 (best offer) / $19.95 / $20.88 CGC 9.8 - $76.51 / $85.00 (best offer) / $101.99 The CGC 9.8 has dropped as expected, supply has met the demand. I doubt it will fall farther, $80 to $100 is a good range for it. The 1:10 continues to be really hot. The colours look great on it, nice book to have slabbed. Jabba the Hutt Bounty Hunters 1 (cover B) (1st Deva Lompop) Raw - $6.50 / $17.99 (best offer) / $15.10 CGC 9.8 - $65.00 / $51.00 / $43.00 The CGC 9.8s are still pretty cheap, not worth grading at this price, but perhaps a good time to buy the regular covers and a variant if they pop up for a good price. High Republic Adventures - Monster of Temple Peak 1 Raw - $6.26 / $12.46 / $8.99 (best offer) CGC 9.8 - $129.99 / $135.50 / $95.36 My copies of this book are all damaged, multiple spine ticks, might be a hard book to get in 9.8?
  3. WOW! Whelp, time to dig through my long boxes to see how many copies I have...
  4. Years from now will it become common belief that books released in 2020 and 2021 are more rare due to reduced access as a fall out from covid? Are the print runs actually lower? In reality over this time period it became easier to pre-order books before foc in massive quantities, at least from what became available to me. Just surprised books like Black Cat 11 and 12 can have value like this already. Perhaps it will settle once the 2nd wave of FOMO passes on these books. Is it the next stray dogs 1? High republic adventures 2?
  5. I’m seeing it advertised as 1st full black cat as well? I’m a bit confused.
  6. Where is the guy with the dog on his shoulder?
  7. Is it worth it though? My comic shop easier?
  8. So what is selling? What are people looking for?
  9. The real money will come when Titan has a few daughters… those are the big 1st appearances to focus on.
  10. I live on the edge, I never check the back of the comic or internal pages.
  11. Here's what I got. Actually none of these are mine, I'm just being used for my CGC account:
  12. Grades were just OK. No real surprises in either direction. Only 7 9.8s. Perhaps the pressing reverted after 6+ months.
  13. 12/6/2021 modern slow grading/quality control
  14. I need to rethink my FOC strategy, the first question should be "is it Star Wars?" If the answer is no... don't buy it. Here are the Star Wars books that I went fairly heavy on last year... seeing some strong sales recently for each of them (showing last three sales for raw & CGC 9.8): High Republic 1 (cover A) Raw - $7.22 / $19.00 / $40.00 (best offer) CGC 9.8 - $135.00 / $139.00 / $91.00 The Hans variant continues to do very well (close to $40 raw). The cover A raw examples vary in grade, the $7.22 is from the UK, may have slipped through the cracks. The $19.00 was advertised as VF. Overall not seeing many raw sales for cover A. High Republic Adventures 1 Raw - $0.99 / $12.50 / $9.50 CGC 9.8 - $99.95 / $79.99 (best offer) / $79.99 Sales for the 1:10: $61, $86 & $75 for a CGC 9.8. High Republic Adventures 2 Raw - $20.00 (best offer) / $21.99 / $22.50 CGC 9.8 - $209.99 / $295.00 / $199.95 (on March 19) The CGC 9.8 is still maintaining its strength, but not a lot of copies sold. I'm still not convinced this can hold at $200, think we're still seeing high prices due to lower supply of graded copies. We'll see. The 1:10 continues to be really hot. The colours look great on it, nice book to have slabbed. Jabba the Hutt Bounty Hunters 1 (cover B) (1st Deva Lompop) Raw - $20.00 / $15.99 / $9.50 CGC 9.8 - $175 (best offer) / $71.18 / $99.99 Cover A remains extremely cheap. The 1:25 is catching fire too. High Republic Adventures - Monster of Temple Peak 1 Raw - $9.99 / $12.99 / $13.04 CGC 9.8 - $129.99 / $135.50 / $95.98 There are quite a few 9.4 and 9.6 sales, perhaps this book is a bit harder to get in high grades. Looking at my raw copies, some of them do have colour breaking creases. Over the next few weeks, keep an eye on the Deva Lompop book, its getting some spec hype.
  15. An auction for a raw comic graded as a 8.5, with a stock image, sells for $40.00. For the next two examples above, there is a solid $8/$9 "premium" for a CGC book. I am cherry picking, why would someone set a $49 buy it now on a classic silver age book?
  16. What about my 12-6-2021 still at sfg… hope my assigned grader didn’t take a vacation or sick day…
  17. I’m good with this correction, when I saw the notification that you quoted me… I was scared of another x-force debate.
  18. Star Wars 1 is generally regarded as one of the highest printed comics from the Bronze Age (feel free to correct me). For years I would see people on this forum claim that it will never be worth anything as a result. It was one of the first comics that people bought in large quantities for collecting purposes. I’d say it is doing quite well despite its high print run. What happens if X-Force becomes the next big franchise? Can X-Force 1 become a hot book? How about those mass produced X-Men 1 books? Already getting hot despite being common as dirt. So what about books post 2010? Definitely as long as the particular “franchise” or character remains relevant. Also in 10 years is the comic industry still a thing? Before the relatively recent spike in comic movies and shows… there was a lot of doubt regarding the current generation caring about comics and what that would mean for the industry. Is that still a threat or will movies and shows still keep comic characters relevant. The rule of 25 should be considered as well.
  19. Decent growth for High Republic #1 Cover A in 9.8. Interesting that it has passed the Hans variant for the most part. Now at 4 sales above $200 for High Republic Adventures #2 in 9.8. Can it continue to hold above $200? One auction in progress on ebay for $197.87 with one bid ending in a little over 1 hour. How many copies did @kimik submit to cgc? The 1:10 incentive variant is the better option if you can get it below $200:
  20. Here's what the census is currently showing for High Republic Adventures 2: These are relatively low numbers for a Star Wars book. In comparison there are 2,388 copies of the 9.8 cover A 1st print Star Wars: High Republic 1. Don't think HRA 2 can stay above $200 over the next 6 months... but I will be happy if it does.
  21. For Stray Dogs, it is just supply and demand. When the 9.8 popped to $600, I recall seeing that there were only 20 copies in the census for the silence of the lambs cover variant. Here's what we have now: Reminds me of the early 2000s when you could brag about a 9.4 being the highest graded copy for a silver or bronze age book.
