  1. Thanks for taking a look.

1st “I'll Take It!” in the thread wins and trumps all private negotiations.

Please make sure to quote the book you are taking.

Payment must be made by PayPal within 3 days of invoice, which will be provided to buyers via PM.

Shipping in USA is $20 for a Priority box. US buyers only; shipping to US PayPal verified addresses only.

    No returns on slabbed books.

    No probation listers or HOSers.

Please do not rescind your take or swap with others on the thread. Please do not quote and comment on books, because it confuses some into thinking a book is sold when it is not.

We’ll begin with a couple of my personal Avengers comics purchased new from a tobacco store/newsstand in the late 60’s/early 70’s, which displayed new comics stacked flat on magazine racks.

Not in Art of Glamour. Don't you think the guy seems very similar to this guy--bow tie, hair?

I agree this is Baker with bad inking. The cover I see no Baker on is the one in my original quote, Love Tales 61.

Now this one is signed by Colletta, but something is going on. Baker pencils that Colletta inked--and then cheekily signed despite not having done the pencils? Colletta copying Baker? Something else?

Nothing about this looks like Baker to me. Is it listed in Art of Glamour?

Tom, do you have his info to inquire about table availability?

I'm not Tom, but I do have the link for tables at OAFCon. https://register.growtix.com/space_applications/index/OafCon_2021

Here's the new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/OAFCon

And promoter Peter Purin has just received administrator rights on Bart's original OAFCon FB page. https://www.facebook.com/Oaf-Oklahoma-Alliance-of-Fans-142749562421173

Has there been any word or developments in terms of OAF for 2021 and beyond?

It has been announced on Facebook that Oklahoma promoter Peter Purin has coordinated with the late Bart Bush's wife Barbara, Buddy Saunders of mycomicshop, and original OAF members Robert Brown, John McMahan and others to bring OAFCON back October 2nd-3rd, 2021. As before, the event will be held at Embassy Suites in Norman.

Peter says he plans to hold an auction benefiting Bart's family.

I can't find a legal-sized scanner anywhere near where I am, or that has reasonable shipping rates (I'm in a regional part of Australia).  I have a Cannon MG5765 here (A4 scan size) and I can easily take an unbroken scan of the comic, then scan the top of the slab and stitch the two together seamlessly on the bit of the slab that separates the label and the comic... buuuuut, the scanner seems to scan the outer shell of the slab, leaving the comic inside blurry.

Has anyone discovered a fix for this using software?

Sounds like your Cannon is a CIS scanner. Software won't help. Must have a CCD scanner to focus inside the slab.
