The story behind this one is so cool.  This was a storage locker find in Cleveland OH. Run through CGC to get it in this auction before an even bigger  Bats 1 that's coming up next time around. 1.1 million dollars in comics found in that cheap storage locker.

I assume you mean it's MORE rare than it seemed.  10 years ago, no one considered Flash Comics #1 (1st appearance of The Flash.  First appearance of Hawkman) to even be a big deal.  No one on this board gave a sh*t about it.  They were too busy talking about Batman and cover art.  I should know...I sold my CGC 5.0 unrestored for $34K.  And everyone here said it was a good price.

I meant less rare.  Love this book. Owned a low grade that I bought from Filter years ago.  Had a real low number on the census then but that has increased dramatically. Plus you see more for sale these days. Cool you had a 5.0 Blue.

Economy is struggling at the moment and I think we all knew this enlightenment of stupid high prices couldn’t last forever. There’s been a correction across the board, but I still see solid sales, and the ones that have dropped as others mentioned are still well above pre-pandemic nuttiness. Overall comics are still a strong market from the feel of it, but I certainly won’t be surprised to see a given book not meet expectations anymore.

Hulk 181 in 9.8 breaking $100K, that is impressive though! I know many others remember the early early days. I can only go as far back when a 9.8 was worth about $10K, then into the low 20’s, then the big jump into the 30’s, 40’s, then hovering in the $70K or so mark and more. And now breaking $100K! 🤯

How many 9.8s on the census--any idea ?
