Yeah, like him or hate him I'd have to say he is probably the most bankable star right now, and has been for many years/decades.  I'm trying to think of someone else right now that has his track record for hits and there isn't many that come to mind.

He's creepy AF but he makes great movies.  I would see anything that guy is in.  He could badmouth me on screen for 2 hours and I'd still recommend it

I've been suggesting ideas for newbies for years.  Things that have big potential.  Give yourself a chance.

1 hour after I finally said on here that I bought Whitney's passport (for $15K...not like hey, look at how rich I am)...I'm accused of being all full of mess and pumping.

I love drivers licenses from celebs.  Never thought about making a buck off of them I just like to collect and look at them.

You could be right.  But also keep in mind, celebrity collectibles are a tricky business.  They are often valuable only to the generation that grew up with them.  I've been dealing in movie posters for decades, and have seen huge drops in value for the old B-movie westerns (once highly sought after), and major stars in anything other than super-key movies have generally dropped.  There are at least 2 generations now that have no idea who Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Gary Cooper, or even Marilyn Monroe are.  Most Elvis posters have plummeted over the past few years.  There are even cracks beginning to appear for the '50s sci-fi movies... once the gold standard for poster buyers.  There's just fewer and fewer people who have any interest in this stuff.  This is the lesson to be learned for ALL pop-culture collectibles.  They often explode very fast for a couple of generations, but then ultimately give way to stuff more identifiable to younger collectors.  It's called "pop culture" for a reason... and nothing stays mass-popular forever.

    well said.

    Hi all,

A quick post to share my newest addition to my collection and one that I’m extremely excited about! Although it isn’t much, it’s a major milestone for me. It is page #1 from Avengers #1!

The Avengers have always been a big part of my childhood along with Iron Man and Captain America, mostly because of the movies but as I’ve gotten older, the history lover in me has become more interested and familiar with the comic origins of my favorite Marvel heroes. I know there are differing opinions in regards to single pages but after buying two pages from Cap #5 and finding an alternate way to obtain historical comics that were otherwise unobtainable for me, I began to view single pages differently myself. Thus Avengers #1 came to mind as one of my all-time favorite issues and a top silver-age issue if not my favorite and I set out in search of history!

So, I’m excited to share here that I’ve added the marquee page from that landmark #1 issue in 1963! With complete issues even in the lowest grade, well out of reach for me, this page allows me a unique opportunity. Even cooler is the documentation which the page carries from its original owner stating in writing that it was most likely purchased in Chicago, Illinois on July 3, 1963 upon release! To me that elevates the history of this particular piece to another level of cool!

Without further delay I give you The Coming of The Avengers!

You getting that bad boy slabbed?  Beautiful looking single page.  Love the notations and old abbreviation for Illinois !

  5. I can't fid the thread but I think it was in GOLD so I'm asking here. I heard that file copies now are able to submitted for the gold pedigree label. Now I am hearing form CGC that that is incorrect.  Does nay remember this thread and the information in it ?

That raises an interesting point, which is what is the point of even slabbing an individual page?  Grade is irrelevant, and restoration is also probably not an issue.  So what are you really paying for?  An authenticity check?

What would be the price difference between a slabbed single page and unslabbed single page?

As a buyer authenticity would be the reason for me.
