Ok, it’s official. The price of a page is thru the roof on certain books.

There have been a lot of Bat 1 pages showing up on the market lately, and the prices have jumped.  Since there are are 2 Joker stories, there’s a total of 14 Joker pages to every Bat 1.  Up until the last few months, most of the Joker pages could be had for less than a thousand bucks. Now all of a sudden they are bringing $3k-$5k.

there are some who speculate that the price of a page will encourage people to cut up their Bat 1s and sell the pages individually. To them I say “have you seen the prices Bat 1s are now bringing?”      $240k for a 2.0!!!

with only 130 copies on the census, demand for a full book will not motivate sellers to piece their books out.

But how about AF 15? Not the same story. There’s 2265 Universal copies and another 918 restored copies. Since most restoration is on the cover, that’s 3000 AF 15s that could be a source for pages!  Compare that to the 130 Bat 1s on the census.

and now the AF 15 pages have started to hit ludicrous highs. There’s currently 2 or 3 Page 1s offered on the Bay with $10k BINs. And a page 2 just hammered for $5k in an old fashioned auction on the Bay.

time will tell, but the financial motivation to piece out an AF 15 might become a thing. With so many possible sources for pages (over 3000!), I don’t think it makes sense for these pages to continue to bring big money, but who knows

Here it is, found it.  If the number 1 alone goes for 7k....what does the Superman with Car go for?....Guessing we'll see that up for auction next?

This buyer liquidated part of the collection.  Last I heard he still had the SUpes/Car and wasn't;t parting with it

Well, he could have gone darker. He could have severed the head of one of the criminals that he captured and carried that head around with him and talked to it the way he talked to Robin—like the way the Tom Hanks character talked to the volleyball named Wilson in Cast Away. Now that would have been dark.

I guess Batman's pillow talk with Robin added a layer to the comics, but Robin still gets on my nerves. And Tec 38 is the worst cover of the run; it's almost as bad as the issue of Batman that has Alfred twerking on stage.

Without Robin there is no The Batman movie in 2022.  I believe that.

I would consider buying a Tec 38 but only at 40-50% off going rate in today's market. :sumo:

paging @Chicago Boy Robin's greatest cheerleader lol

The other day on Instagram I saw someone post a handful of (entry level) 38s in his collection. As if 1 copy wouldn't be bad enough. Is that you Chicago Boy ? :baiting:

    Seek HELP. Quickly.

I've finally come to the realization that Tec 38 will NEVER be the book I thought it would or should be,  I am a product of my time and the watering down of the number of Robin's didn't help the cause.

I’m going to say $130K for the coverless Tec 27. I think it sells for close to $200K if it was a perfect/nice page coverless copy. This one is missing a small piece out of page 2-7, which slightly affects story. Think that will affect the potential sale, despite being complete.

I’m also super interested to see what this beautiful Tec 33 goes for.

130 would be great.  150 would better.....

    I’d say around $80k.

I think retail it's worth 110- 120k in todays market  but who knows in a bidding war. Nothing would surprise me.  For those with a low 6 figure budget this is the closest your are going to get for a complete unrestored Tec 27. Coverless Action 1 maybe 150k

I remember the good old days when a million dollars would pretty much buy you a mansion in the expensive West side of the city here. (thumbsu

Nowadays, a million dollars wouldn't even allow you to buy a derelict teardown shack in the East side slums of the city here.  :(  :censored:

    Where's "here"  ?
