  1. That is a big reduction in cost$$ for FEV, as Calgary Expo has offered the economy smaller vendor table/booth for what seems like at least 10 years.
  2. I wondered how CCS could pro Quick press a comic for a low $8 each and that is supposed to include a quick spine roll fix too. I guess that is what helped to create the need for CVA Exceptional sticker that itself costs btwn $30 to $40 each depending on 'retail' or GPA value of one's comic to be auctioned: to help monitor CGC when they are grading extra strict or under-grading comics that week.
  3. Very interesting Professor Impaler. Since the Din ky Duck cover is almost 70 years old, you may have found a way to extend the comic cover's paper stock's life 5 fold. A noble sacrifice of a Duck comic in the name of Conservation Science.
  4. Painted covers . Nice 'Private Secretary' #1 of 2(?) issues:
  5. There is a Youtube video on attaching archival tape to entire length of a spine. Or did you mean you just needed to reinforce (you may be able to use methyl cellulose mixed with water) the torn staple holes then reinsert the staples to attach cover to comic?
  6. I have seen the results of the chemical bath in person. Initially, I thought the cover may have been reglossed, as the cover stock was firmer/stronger than I remembered plus the cover colors were now brighter. Took off my glasses so I could see better. No chemical smell to covers. No telltale signs of a possible light re-gloss could be detected on covers or inside of covers. Bottom line: 427Impaler's conservation process seems to have no downside if u wish your GA or SA comics to last longer than you plus have a more vibrant appearance in or out of one's mylars.
  7. Some Xela mail order catalog covers circa 1998 printed /written by Matt Schiffman of Oregon, USA. I bought a portable black light from him and then greggy used up the battery.
  8. Yes, one pays $35 for the CVA Exceptional sticker.
  9. I agree; not heretical. I think Mask #2 should be at least equal in value to Mask #1 due to the stronger Satan cover on #2. Like Suspense Comics #3 being worth more than Suspense #1 even though traditionally, any issue #1 is valued higher than #2 per Overstreet trend.
  10. If you wish to complete the run, there will be a Mask Comics #2 CGC 1.8 cream to off-wht pages at ComicLink no reserve auction starting Nov. 19, 2019. Only a 2 issue run to collect. Mask #2 CGC 1.8 at cLink
  11. Nicely done spaghetti western in outer space: 'The good, the bad, and the Droid.' Good world building so far.
  12. I hope fractional shares has a solution for when one gets married or divorced, as to how much your spouse or partner owns of 'your' AF #15 or Batman #1, etc.
  13. 'Dark Fantasy' Island seems watchable. Better than these constant reboots of 'Charlie's Angels' in movies or tv.
  14. BA heavily influenced by introduction of R.E. Howard characters like Conan, King Kull, Red Sonja, Solomon Kane by writer/adapter Roy Thomas. Also 1st app. of King Kull by Wrightson released before HoS #92 Swamp Thing so seems under priced:
  15. Small correction: 'Marvel Tales' #1 reprints AF #15. Plus the GRR have totally different back covers compared to SA Marvel keys.
  16. "All wraps completely split" so would take quite a bit of pro conservation to save this comic. Perhaps the buyer has the correct loose back cover to marry?
  17. From the Vancouver Chinatown collection, not a pedigree:
  18. The convention has updated and renamed their website: W. Canada Collectibles Experience in suburb of Vancouver, BC A variety of vintage comics and some graphic novels will be available from Phantom Eclipse Comics' 3 tables:
  19. Pics have been uploaded. Please click to enlarge to see the comics and crowd: Vancouver Comic & Toy Show PNE
  20. Podboy's Action #19 is probably similar to my Action #14 in that all the tears and flaws are on the back cover making eye appeal outstanding:
  21. I understand your concern and your desire to collect pure Blue label CGC comics. My concern is that my GA comics are about 80 years old now and indeed need some conservation or de-acidification. CGC's own definition of conservation allows for a small amount of color touch or paper piece in-fill, rice (Japan) paper, small amount of re-gloss, married interior wrap(s), solvent cleaning and archival tape. I hope we live to 100, and can still enjoy GA comics that are not brown/black and flaking apart as we attempt to flip the lignin pages.
  22. Agreed re: Ferd. I believe Harley also had a coverless Hulk #181 at about $850 US so I sure hope it has the MVS inside. Now I have to go raise the sticker price on my coverless Hulk #182.
