  1. I bought those two books at a book fair in the 5th grade! "JLA Role call" Good eye! I never noticed. I must have been too enthralled as a kid. These were great to have back then but the Marvel Pocketbooks in color were even better.
  2. Well, it took me 29 years to complete the entire run. And not all in HG.
  3. Yeah, the JLA/JSA issues were usually my favorites. I started with JLA in the late 70's and always looked forward to those as a kid. I loved the Darkseid one. Congrats on finishing the 80 Pg. Giant run!
  4. No one's knocking Radiohead. But these threads tend to be about a particular subject. When someone with very few posts brings something up like that it makes me wonder whether it's someone jumping in to "sell" something. I'm not saying that pertains to you but there is certain etiquette involved with BBS sites.
  5. Where do you all find these great copies? It's pretty impressive.
  6. Great shape to get that in! Too bad the scanner doesn't do it justice though. Classic Murphy Andersen poses. Green Lantern's hair is going the wrong way in relation to his trajectory.
  7. I think the Spectre made the cover of one in the 40's. I think it's #46 or #47 and it's a "picture frame" style. He's wrestling with some typical JLA-style space creature I believe.
  8. Welcome to the Boards. There is some JLA appreciation here.
  9. JLA #29 was one of the 1st "important" SA JLA's I bought when I started collecting in the late 70's. I still remember that "feeling" of buying it at the comic shop. It was too far to get to by bike so I had to plead with my mom to take me. I'd skimp and save up about $10 and maybe get there every 3 months or so. I miss the "kid in a candy store" feeling. It was overwhelming. So much to buy, so little money or time.
  10. Last clean-shaven Green Arrow I believe. Great looking book!
  11. OK, I was a little slow on the uptake. Now I know who you're talking about.
  12. You're correct about "over my head" as I must have missed the "Chromium" scandal. Was it a shill? Trouble-maker?
  13. I would definitely object to a comic book with Chromium on the cover. Whatever that early 90's trend was. I, thankfully, missed out on that era. I stopped in 1985 and started back up around 1994.
  14. It would be kind of fun to see the Modern JLA's do some of the old classic-style covers as kind of a "throwback" idea once in awhile. Stuff like the head-shots, picture frames, etc. But, then again, the companies probably think "Chromium" covers would be "throwback". Ugh.
  15. Impressive as always. I can't say I ever have seen 100 Pagers in person that were in such great shape. I'm happy to get a 8.5 - 9.0 at the Motor City shows.
  16. Love the B&B #117. Great looking book!
  17. I care. I've just been too lazy to scan the JLA's in.
  18. Very nice #22! I just got GS Avengers #1 but it's not Silver Age so it's barred from entering.
  19. Good Lord, those are some nice 100 Pagers. I gotta hand it to you.
  20. Well, at least you own it and the previous owners clearly enjoyed reading it. (Again and again and again... )
