  1. Well, I finally learned where Point 5's avatar comes from.
  2. My latest addition I just got today. Brave & The Bolds are a recent addition to my want list and this one was too good to pass up at the Motor City Show today. [/img]
  3. Well said, Doc. Would bad grammar and spelling be another example of what is wrong?
  4. I met Grell about 10 years ago and, through a friend, he gave me some pages to ink over. (They were photocopies, not OA. ) I gave it a try but didn't have my heart in it. They turned out very average. I agree that Grell could be very good, but sloppy at times also. I liked his work overall.
  5. I liked Starlin's early work a lot. He seemed to take the Kirby "Cosmic-style" and refine it. His lines seemed very clean, a tradition Perez seemed to take to greater heights. I loved Michael Golden's work on Micronauts. That was my introduction to him. It seems there are Wrightson influences in his work. For current artists, I also like Alan Davis who is very much in an Adams style.
  6. Yeah, it is too small to read. But that just shows the amount of copies in each grade by CGC so far. What do you find when you're pursuing these? Are you paying a premium for 9.2's? 8.5's? (Based on the Guide of course.)
  7. DC 100 Pager question: Is Overstreet close with the prices on a 9.2 or do they still get a premium? I've found I've paid a lot of 9.2 prices for 8.5 - 9.0's over the past years.
  8. Zeck's art looks great on those pictures. I always felt he had more potential than his actual comic work displayed. Maybe he didn't like to be rushed or deadlines?
  9. I think #32 was one of the 1st old JLA's I remember reading. It was reprinted in the Treasury size Super Friends if memory serves. Nice copy!
  10. Sorry, Highest Grade or not, that's not a good looking JLA #6. I don't get how that makes a 9.0 with such severe tanning. Maybe it's the scan?
  11. My number 9 though I can't say it's a favorite cover. [/img] I prefer #21, #29 and #3. #16 is pretty cool. (I just realized I don't have it uploaded to Photobucket yet.
  12. Spookley, That's a great batch of JLA's you have there! Even though it's not as HG as the rest, the #23 does have almost better visual appeal.
  13. What the heck... nice Adams cover, typical SA DC that wouldn't be done today. [/img]
  14. Printer's crease. At some point, I'll upgrade on this one.
  15. [/img] Here's one I got at age 16. It hung on my wall for a couple of years as a "pride & joy". Now I know better.
  16. [/img] Always liked Dr. Light, even if he is a DC doormat.
  17. Detroit Mike, that is a fine looking B&B #29! Mine's nowhere near that nice but I got it for a good price 10 years ago at Comix Oasis in Allen Park.
  18. Post your #33 Shadow; if it's better than mine I'll be the first to give you your props! Midnight at Wynn This whole weekend was busy due to the Holiday/NBA break/upcoming tournament. I was there on Sunday, too bad you didn't pop in to say "dude!" Rick It looked too busy for me to stop at tables and ask for names.
  19. Great looking #33! This is also one I bought on one of my early LCS expeditions in my mid-teens. I upgraded it a few years ago, but I don't believe it's as nice as yours. BTW, I only managed to sneak over to the Wynn late Sunday night. It was around midnight and I wanted to get a glimpse of the place. The hotel appears to be beautiful and the casino was packed around midnight.
  20. I was envious of my little brother because the Batman 30's To The 70's is better than the Superman one.
  21. Batman 30's To The 70's is a great book! My younger brother has it and the Shazam one. (Not as great.) I have the Superman one.
