  1. The JaCo process! Thank you so very much JaCo! It is by far more special than I ever could have imagined it to be!
  2. Amazing artist! So cool of you to share the making of! I tip my hat off to ya! Thank you, I have no secrets, my art is very transparent and don't mind sharing the process with the world...what matters to me is the intent behind every painting and each piece has one. Something that is unique to every artist (IMO)- that is, the ones who paint or draw with intent. With this one...his muscular features are important, so the splatter will reflect a soaked costume that when he flexes to pose for the photograph, paint just streaks all over...indicating how dynamic he is while being static. I am also excited to see how this will become...(The pressure is ON!)
  3. Here is a sneak peek of a piece artist JaCo Tartauga is working on for me. I already love what I'm seeing and can't wait to see it when it's complete! You can check out more of his work at http://jacotartaruga.com/
  4. Hey Doug, I'm hoping you can provide me with a bit of clarification. For the past couple of years I've attended several Scott Snyder signings and not once was I asked for any fee for books that were clearly being witnessed for grading. I also know that Scott is very vocal about signing for free as a way of giving back to his fans. Is it no longer the case that he wants to sign for free to show his gratitude for the support of his fans? I was rather certain he still wanted to sign for free and it didn't matter if the books were to be graded or left raw, so I am just a bit confused. Will all the appearances he makes at Image booths that have always been free now require $15 per book during the signing if they are going to be submitted for grading?
  5. From what I understand the amount that came in from SDCC was pretty epic When I called the other day regarding TAT for MFT, they said it was looking at 6 weeks. I just called today about a few submissions I made at SDCC and was told the current TAT for MFT is around three to three and a half months. I am hoping that was a mistake.
  6. I'm going to try and talk him out of it in Baltimore like I did at NOLA.
  7. ...wait...what kind of suit is that in the suitcase??? Oh you'll see.
  8. It's a *spooning* 10! This is The Tick that we've been waiting for! We've seen several variations of The Tick from different creators, actors, and voices. Well, here's the darker and more grown up version that I've been hoping I'd see one day. Diving into the depths of Arthur's past is an absolutely perfect start to the show. I love all of the casting choices, yet I know Peter still needs to grow on me a bit. Yet Arthur and Dot are perfectly cast. I'm really looking forward to more Griffin as Arthur. For a pilot it was way more than I was ever hoping for and can't wait to see more. I knew Ben said he planned to go deeper and darker than most would probably be anticipating and I think it was it best decision at this point in time. If you were hoping for a walk down memory lane then watch a rerun, because this is new and improved in my opinion. It is definitely worth checking it out so please do, it's well worth it and don't forget to log on to Amazon.com review pilot to leave your review...of 5 stars of course!

  10. If only there was someone on the boards posting in every conceivable thread to make sure no one would ever forget. Now that's a good idea! Please note that the Amazon pilot of THE TICK will air THIS FRIDAY! Please note that once the pilot is watched in its entirety on Amazon you will be prompted to vote for Amazon to continue with a full length series. Please do so! :foryou
  11. For any fans of The Tick, I just saw that Ben Edlund will be attending WW Chicago to screen the pilot of The Tick that will air on Amazon and Twitch on August 19th. This is from WW's site... "Ben Edlund. Born on a cranberry bog in the heart of New England. Raised on television at a time when there no choice but to watch Hogan's Heroes over and over. Well, there was always televised coverage of candlestick bowling, but that's tantamount to child abuse. At age 17, the unregulated influx of television, movies, and comics to which he was exposed reversed polarities and he began to regurgitate a twisted, humor-based superhero mythos centered around a weird blue avenger called THE TICK. He wrote and pencilled the first twelve issues of The Tick comic series starting in 1988, and went on to co-write and co-produce a Saturday morning cartoon series which aired on FOX for three seasons from 1994-96. Edlund did the same in 2001, in a short lived live-action Tick TV series which went from cancellation to cult status. From that point Edlund started writing and producing [and in some cases, directing] on shows such as Firefly, Angel, Supernatural, Gotham, and the Venture Bros. He counts himself lucky to have contributed to some of the coolest universes out there. Known for shameless plugging, he is about to engage on another journey with The Tick, a re-envisioned live action series produced by Sony and Amazon, appearing, as a pilot, for a month starting August 19th on Amazon Prime. Say! Why not take part in that journey and this biography by voting YES and turning the new Tick series into a real boy? Or a live fairy. Clap your hands and believe!" Please note that once the pilot is watched in its entirety on Amazon you will be prompted to vote for Amazon to continue with a full length series. Please do so!

  13. He just posted a response video and he said that you and a few other people were blocked from making comments on his channel. Link for the lazy? No way I could handle watching all of that! He's supposed to be banned from the boards as stated in Harshen's response. I suggest the mods get on that sooner rather than later.
  14. This thread is definitely worthy of a bump with a reminder of the release of The Tick on Amazon Prime on Friday, August 19th! Important: You must watch the entire show in order to cast your vote for Amazon to continue with a full season of The Tick! The pilot will also be streaming on Twitch!
  15. Ask Marky to come join the boards. Preferably Friday. Maybe Marky is already here...again.
  16. It makes me , so I hope you enjoy it as well Blowie.
  17. What's your eBay name? shoptickcomic (for inquiring minds)
  18. Reminder: Just 12 more days to the release of The Tick on Amazon Prime on Friday, August 19th! Important: You must watch the entire show in order to cast your vote for Amazon to continue with a full season of The Tick!
