  1. I keep hoping another one of these will pop up, but no such luck yet. How did you learn they were sold in Disney Stores? I never would have guessed that.
  2. Call for help Chip, life can and will get better. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255 They are available 24 hours a day to talk.
  3. Thanks Astoria. You are right, it can be difficult to determine what is or isn't manufactured heat at times. That's why it's a such a great part of this thread when the reasons a book is heating up are being discussed.
  4. Are you the CBSI GUY? Tron pump and dump Man these guys buy this stuff up then pump it ! Any one following these guys are C H U M P S ! Its not pump and dump. Its pump and chump.... Anyone with a brain knows those books have been bought by mostly BY PUMPERS before the hyped up web post. I mean this is getting desperate. Amen brotha !! I've asked this before and I think I got a response from you as to something like "you can tell the pump & dumpers". How are you supposed to talk about comics you like and not be considered a pump & dumper? The Tron variants have sold pretty well for a while depending on the cover. The ASM has been pretty consistently over $50. So true. Any book that gets talked about get essentially getting 'pumped', I mean look at this thread title. By that logic, anyone whose posted a book in this thread is a pumper no different than CBSI. Jerome Pumping and dumping falls under the "you know it when you see it" umbrella. Unfortunately people can't always see it. Very big difference between casually mentioning a demonstrative sales trend in this thread and posting an article on a website solely dedicated to making money by reselling books. And then using imaginary print numbers to push rarity of said books. And then having links to buy said books under said article. Are the Tron variants being mentioned because they are actually heating up? A few of those have always sold well (the ASM, the Hulks, the Avengers one with Moon Knight) but are they doing better now? If the argument to buy these books is simply that they've been ignored for the past 5 years and now people are catching on, well that doesn't hold much water. If you aren't using actual market data to make a case for a book here, then you better have some actual reasons, facts, and evidence to support your position. If your advice is of the "low print, variant cover, book has legs" variety then just please go away. This thread is about discussing books that are heating up. If its heating up because of a spec site, or someones granny recommended it , who cares , its still heating up. And some are interested in just that. If that annoys you, simply don't open the thread If a book is "heating up" due to manipulation then it's in the best interest for everyone that cares about this hobby and its future to reveal and share that information. The more people that get burned by manufactured heat, the more people that will walk away from this hobby. Anyone who truly doesn't care if a book is selling at a premium because of manufactured heat is doing nothing for but taking the money and running. They definitely don't care about the future of the hobby, they are the ones that will walk away from the wreckage of a crash and never look back as they run off to the next money maker.
  5. Did you get it? I went to go check it out and it was already sold. I hope you got it!
  6. Dunno about all of that...the Governor's 1st app has signifigantly dropped in FMV. Sell, Mortimer....sell WD is a strong book but the inherent problem with holding WD's is that there are effloads of others out there who have the same outlook. When the WD hoarders decide to sell, there will be a massive glut of WD's all over eBay. A lot of them will be listed auction style, and since there will be plenty to go around, they will close low...then the BIN prices will have to be dropped. If I had a WD 132 CGC 9.8, I would just list it now on eBay, at $75 higher than the highest sale in GPA.I'm guessing that'd be around a $200 BIN. It likely won't sell for a while but the more copies listed at higher BIN's will effect the perceived value.Betcha it would sell in a month or two. After that 9.8 sells, rinse and repeat.
  7. I don't think anyone cares Oh ok..and who are you exactly?? Ummmmm nobody, whom seems self entitled to speak for everyone . Funny little man. I think he's just someone that understands sentence / paragraph structure. Holler attcha boiiiii Jimmy Linguini - Voted the new Collector Society Mod 2016 Mod away dude. What's hot up north ? Cap Canuck? Mod 420 Nah, Hyperion is too young. If your going with an Eternals bloodline it's either Ikaeden from Eternal MAX or Ikarus from the 1970's Eternals series Oh really?? How old is Hyperion? The original was over 5,000 years old. He's the only "Eternal" that marvel is pushing in story lines. Your guess of Ikaris is incorect. You have to "see" what Marvel is doing. Then you would understand. There's many things that point to Hyperion. "Moderns that are heating up on eBay!" "Issues and variants are readily available and found dirt cheap"
  8. Many thanks to seanfingh and Rich Henn for this one!
  9. The past January at Wizard World NOLA John Layman said the cartoon was moving along very nicely and they had just wrapped up another session of voiceovers. I believe the plan is to have it released after the series comes to an end. I did plead with John to not let it ever completely end. He got a kick out of that but he did say he plans to take a break for a few years from monthly series. Jeff may have some more up to date info though from either John or Rob though.
  10. Welcome to the boards Suzie! Thank you for sharing the story of how you got into comics. The doujinshi books sound really interesting, hopefully you can share more about them one day and possibly post some pics. I am sure you will greatly appreciate the vast knowledge of comics here, especially when it comes to the very celebrated Ninja Turtles!
  11. I do not view leaving negative feedback as taboo. It is all situational and in my opinion it is either deserving or it isn't. From my experience the majority of sellers do make an attempt to make things right. If they do not then that is when I would decide if negative feedback is to be left.
  12. Can someone with GPA access post this books history? Thank you, I'm not very familiar with this books history. What was the highest recorded sale and going price in universal 9.8 when it was more sought after than it is has been the last few years. There were three random sales for over $2000 in 2006. It has averaged under $1000 since then.... -J. Thanks Jay
