  1. To answer some questions, here are some pictures of the books I received by Unknown. When you contact Unknown and say these books were in this state before shipping because packaging was perfect, they still ask you for pictures of bag and board. Because it is 'policy'. And when you send the required pictures, they surprise you by asking for pictures of the packaging material. Because it is policy. And when you send these they ask for pictures of the accompanying documentation. Unknown deliberately stalled the discussion with me, trying to make me give up and discourage me of trying to get value for my money. And they do so by continuously hiding behind their 'policy', all of which seems to be focused on protecting the short-term company result in stead of serving the customer. I would like to add that I have an excellent record as a buyer and seller. Yes, I expect items and service that are according to description and reasonable expectation and yes, I am vocal in case of underperformance. I gave Unknown plenty of chances to fix this before going public.
  2. It is obvious that everything I post on this forum is subject to a series of automatic negative reactions. But I do not care and I am not surprised. After all, I am dealing here mostly with citizens of the USA, a country where facts have become irrelevant and twisting the truth has become a form of art. To those: feel free to doubt what I say and believe what Darren says. Buy comics at Unknown and see what happens. However, there has to be a silent majority of boardies who read these messages, compare them to other bits of information and make up their own mind. If there is just one person who becomes more careful about ordering at Unknown then this is worth it. Oh, and Darren. Nice try. Look in the mirror and try saying aloud: "I am NOT a liar"
  3. Recently, I ordered numerous books with Unknown Comics, so I had several orders unfulfilled at the same time. Unknown was unwilling to switch books from one order to the other, meaning I had to wait unnecessary long for the bulk of the books to arrive. When all books were in, Unknown Comics was still slow to ship the orders. When the orders arrived, they contained several bad books. Unknown refused to hand out return labels, meaning I have to pay because they delivered bad books. In the discussion that followed, Unknown deliberately stalled the discussion, and when finally I made an emotional remark, for which I immediately apologized, they used this as a justification to block me on their facebook-messenger. Customer is king? I have filed a CC case against Unknown. Good luck in dealing with this company, which turned out to be hardly any better than ComicXposure. E
  4. if anyone wants to sell his ASM800 Mayhew ultimate signed CBCS 9.8 to me, please contact me by PM
  5. Thank you. Do you know if there are also unsigned copies of this book?
  6. No, different logo: https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7565867/the-amazing-spider-man-800?variant=3048479
  7. So far I am counting 55 covers of ASM800. From manufacturing and logistic point of view this is a nightmare. Books have defects due to size, some prints have completely been returned (like the Parillo and the Inhyuk Lee), sellers lose track and send the wrong books, etc. etc. The link at the end of page 1 names a Mayhew A and B cover, but I haven't seen the B-cover in the wild. Can anyone confirm it is there? So far I have counted 'only' 7 variants for ASM801. And then the nightmare begins all over again for ASM802/1, this team even with a 1:2000 variant.
  8. I have to say my recent experience with Unknown is also pretty negative. I bought thousands of dollars comics at them. They send it to a fellow boardie, who collects my books and then ships them to the Netherlands. I never made a complaint, nothing. Then they ship a $30 book which is really damaged. The package, board etcetera all look perfect. So my friend only sends a picture of the book, which I then forward to Unknown. They say policy requires them to ask for pictures of everything. I send a picture of the board, but not of the packaging material as it has already been thrown away. But I again say it looks perfect. The end of the story: no replacement because of policies are not followed. And then they become angry when I state that I will not order from them anymore
  9. I should have read this earlier. In a short period of time I made three orders at ComicXposure. Because two of the books would be released quite a while later, I asked for the orders to be reshuffled, so that two of them could be sent out. At first they promised to do this after the weekend, but they never followed-up on their promises and e-mails were ignored. Then I got a partial refund for two common books in one of the orders. I asked them why, but got no reply to my e-mail. Then one of the other orders came in. Two out of three books were not the ones that I ordered. I mailed and tried to telephone their customer support, but I got no reply and they were 'unable' to answer the phone. I paid through CC and I guess my money is gone. These were pretty expensive books so I am not happy. The other orders are still on their way. I am a bit worried what will be wrong with them. After this experience ComicXposure has lost me as a customer.
  10. I am located in the Netherlands
  11. Hi, I am selling my undercopy of ASM v1 #17 CGC 8.5 OW/W. As you can see it is well centered and has nice appeal. The colors are actually much stronger than may seem from this pictures. I bought the book 4 years ago, it has always been stored under proper conditions and in a CGC-bag. I don't know about pressing history. I am looking for SOLD (Wire or PayPal), but I am also open for a cash/trade: I am looking to upgrade my ASM12, 14, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23 and/or 24, and downgrade my ASM10, 13 and 18, all to CGC9.0. First takes it. No PLers, no HOSers and nobody on my ignore-list without prior discussion through PM. World wide shipping is $35, book will be shipped with track & trace within one week of payment. No returns on this one. If you are interested in kudos, please look for Dutch1974's Kudos thread, and I have a 100% eBay record. In case of any questions, feel free to PM me. Please also warn me if somehow this thread is in violation of the rules. Best, Elmer ps: I have added better pictures, but I still have some issues with reflection (the white in the centre is not a defect but reflection)
  12. I have completed my ASM 1-799 collection (although I need one more Newsstand copy and quite some early Direct Editions). But my focus goes to creating a consistent set of 9.0's for ASM 1 u/i 49. That means both upgrading and downgrading. Where do I put that on this forum? Thanks, E
  13. Today, in another thread, I was senselessly accused of many things, but one thing was certainly true. Some time ago, I should not have publicly complained about the way Francesco dealt with my offer through PM. He showed more class than I did by resolving the issue through PM. Before and after the discussion, I bought several of his books and I cherish each and everyone of them, especially because of their origin. If I ever get in a situation like Brian is, I hope I will have friends like Francesco. So, this is a sincere, public apology from my part. Seeing what happened in other threads, there could be a lot of inappropriate reactions, and I hope that boardies will refrain from that, out of respect for Francesco and Brian. If you want to bash me, please do so in a separate thread. best, E
