  1. Unfortunately a business can never know if some seemingly innocuous post will or won't potentially cost them something. Yup. You post something innocent, someone takes it politically or religiously and they strike you off as a possible client.
  2. I just asked because KK used to post aggressively as a 'gold bug', and almost exclusively on topics of economics and original art. You post almost exclusively in topics of gold, economics and original art (and even this AF #15 thread is a discussion on economics) and you have exactly the same posting and narrative style, hence why I asked.
  3. There's certainly something special about that GGA cover. It captures something that many covers cannot. I love how it's 'still' and almost moving in slow motion, even though there is a lot going on. It's almost like a still out of a slow motion, 50's Sci Fi flick. Just terrific.
  4. Yes. Two copies. Do you own a lot of original art? No So you're not the member formerly known as Krazy Kat? You're obsessed with this belief. For the gazillionth time - no ! Sure, but to my knowledge you've never addressed it directly. You certainly do post A LOT like him.

  7. That copy was in my personal collection for a decade. Love it and congrats.
  8. Was wondering when my old books were going to start going up on here. Billy's 1st! If I remember correctly, I bought that book from Matt Nelson off of eBay in an old Spectre52 auction back when nobody wanted a Fawcett book.
  9. I think you may be forgetting that in the summer in Canada there are 32 hours in a day. Sorry guys. I didn't take into account that it was exam week in high school and that kids would be crawling all over the house all day every day. I should start getting them up some time today.
  10. You may want to tweak that link; it is omitting non-superhero GA books. I'm an idjit. I didn't realize that eBay now had a GA Romance section. I wanted to only show GA books. I don't know how to do it otherwise so I just made a link to all the auctions. Thanks for the heads up! It was one of my favorite books. I bought it at a con after being outbid on the same book on eBay almost a decade ago. It's probably even got a shot at VF with a press.
  11. Gang, Chips-Comics on eBay is running another round of no reserve auctions for me on eBay. I've placed this here to make all those interested in GA books aware of the auctions. All of the GA books are books from my personal collection. All books are tightly graded and none have restoration unless noted. Please feel free to bid. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact either Chip or myself. I will personally stand behind all of these auctions and see them through until all is completed. This lot is not as large as last time but some of the books are pretty tough to find. There is a bit of everything in here from Matt Baker GGA, to some more GA Whiz and Actions. Some of them took me a decade to find for my personal collection. Thanks for looking (auctions are still loading on eBay so you will want to check back in case they are not all up)! Link to auctions. Here is a complete list in the spoiler alert.
  12. I have a small batch of VERY nice, higher grade Original Owner DC books from the early 1960's coming in the next 23.5 hours. All books will be listed raw and tightly graded. All have excellent, NM eye appeal, will mostly be in the VF to NM ranges (more or less), have excellent page quality and color strike. They look and feel like brand new books. There are about 21 books to list. They list being offered will include I'd love to accommodate pre-sales and requests but I want to be fair to everyone so I can answer questions about the books but they won't be offered for sale until they are listed in my sales thread. I hope everyone understands. Thanks for looking!
  13. I appreciate you bidding. One of the reasons I chose not to offer the books here was to help Chip. The other was that I didn't know how to price much of the stuff as many of those books I'd bought in the last decade, so I figured a no reserve auction was the way to go.
  14. I appreciate your input. I actually only bumped it once although there were some questions asked (and some discussion) here so I felt obligated to answer them.
  15. Reading this initial post from 2006 sure makes me long for the good old days. The "marketplace" being referred to here is the Forum Only Selling Area -- not ebay, ComicConnect, ComicLink, Heritage, or any other non-Board commercial venue. If you're protesting to me, I always thought the purpose of this thread was to notify people of sales going on outside the GA forum, mainly because many GA collector's don't venture outside the GA forum. While yes, it was originally meant for the Forum Only selling area, I see no reason why someone can't notify people about other venues.
  16. Awesome. And there will be more Matt/Superbird books to bid on down the road as well....
  17. Agreed. Richard has finally come to his senses. The only books i haven't cracked out were comics that were prohibitively expensive and I needed to keep them liquid in case I needed to sell. There's nothing better than holding a raw GA 'fatty' IMO.
  18. It is hard to post anything about CGC cases right now without folks finding all kinds of hidden meaning in every word. Let's just say that for the time being I am having a lot of fun cracking books out of every kind of holder; new, old, voldemort, all of them. I didn't mean to imply that I was searching for a hidden meaning it just struck me as curious. I guess I'm use to seeing you grade books that you held raw for years so this was interesting especially with $20k books. I'm all for it as I cracked out my whole high grade SA/BA collection of mostly pedigree books and I loved seeing them in mylars, I really hate slabs in general. Anyways, I love your taste in books. A panoramic shot of a few of the recent crack-outs... Holy crepe. You just made me feel like a kid again. Meaning I just soiled myself. That Marvel #4 has been the apple of my eye in your collection since I first found out you owned it. What a gem.
  19. I guess that depends on whether you won a Showcase #4 or not.
  20. That AF #15 is king again? Boy how fickle the markets are these days!
