  1. Have you tried or do you just fire both barrels ablazing simply because you can't be bothered? And if they want an opinion on their grades, feel free to send them to the 'Please Grade My' section to get a second opinion. If people are good they will learn. If they are being nefarious and mischievous after a PM THEN you are free to call them out and haze them all you want. But innocent until proven guilty should be the standard.
  2. I disagree. Private Messages have worked for me and sellers have either adjusted grades or removed their books from the sales forum. People can speak up all the want but there is a way to do it and a way not to do it. If you disagree with a store owner do you just start yelling in front of his customers or do you pull them aside and speak one on one. Talking to someone in private is not skirting, it's being mature.
  3. I guess to me it's the same thing whether a group of people get together without a title and fight crime or whether the same people get together with a title and fight crime. It doesn't faze me that they weren't considered an 'official team called the Teen Titans' in #54. They were still a team and that team went on to be called the Teen Titans. Like I said, it's reasonable to me.
  4. I guess these books belong in this thread if I want to show off a little? Sorry about the scan quality difference. The books were scanned on two different scanners. Bethlehem Pedigree sister copies with White pages. Highest graded. Single highest graded.

  7. CGC is just bad with this book for whatever reason. Label ain't always right especially on higher graded copies of this book. CGC generally goes a touch easier on books that are notoriously difficult, Whether on purpose or they just unconsciously recognize it to be a tough book is hard to say. That's been my experience when submitting books that are impossible in grade.
  8. I was next to the guy when he bought the book. Pretty sure it's legit.
  9. I'll watch that as well and I'm guessing at around 10-12k for the action 242 Can someone post a link to the book?
  10. Actually a CGC 9.2 copy sold for $5000 in October 2014 but that was before More Fun #73 exploded in November from a $3K book to a $38K book. Of course, full disclosure I have a vested interest.
  11. You missed out on a #54 9.6 some time ago. I actually don't add any sort of a premium. I try to price all my books based on what the market in total thinks (ie. GPA, OSPG, etc). I just like the debate. Personally, I can't stand DC.
  12. So the discussion is between what constitutes a team vs. a team-up? That's what it sounds like to me.
  13. He calls them a trio in BB #54, The Teen Titans in #60 and then the 'fabulous new foresome' in SC #59. Does that mean they weren't the Teen Titans in SC #59? Again, I agree with SFCD's logic. They were a trio (a team) of teen heroes in BB #54, they were resurrected for BB #60 and finally named the TT. I don't not consider them TT in #54 just because they weren't named then. They are basically the same group with a female addition. And it's more than a prototype. It's a full appearance of 3 of the 4 members as a group. Not a regular group, but a group nevertheless.
  14. What will this look like? We'll all be partying like it's 1999. So it will kinda look like me.
  15. I was actually being facetious when I said this: Classy. The reason people were 'whiny' was not because they were biznatches. It was because the seller didn't state what they were going to do. Is it wrong of me to feel this way?
  16. Sometimes, the "good ol days" were better. I think we tend to romanticize the "good ol days". I've only been here for 6 years and still consider myself a newb. When I was a fairly new member, I had some bad dealings ( probation list worthy ) with a couple of "well respected", long time members. I was even encouraged at the time privately to nominate these people for the probation list ( I didn't ). Is it worse now? Probably. But if it was ever "perfect", it must have been that way before I arrived. The "good ol days" were before you got here. You missed 'em by, like, 2 months....tops. Yup. I remember the day the good times left, And fondly.
  17. So, you're agreeing that the Teen Titans 1st appeared in #54 then? How? Robin clearly says he set up the Teen Titans. This did not occur anywhere in BB 54, so... They appeared in person in #54. They just weren't name the Teen Titans. It's really simple to me...the editorial team had not yet thought of the name 'Teen Titans' and when they resurrected the team from issue #54 (the same people, just now named TT), added Wonder Girl and started a run. What you guys are looking to do is make it fit into a specific box. Characters are not always revealed that way with a specific vision in mind. Often they evolve. I'm happy to agree to disagree. I think #54 is their 1st appearance even if they weren't named as such.
  18. I think you and Dano are misunderstanding what pending scan means - it's not a tracking bid, it is an acceptance of the price and a request for an additional detail (in this case, a scan) and the potential buyer should be responding to the scan with a "yes or no". I imagine there's a few who'd use this methodology to make an offer, making an offer on a book held " pending scan" is a weasel move IMHO IMO the seller determines whether he's willing to sell the book 'pending scan' or to the 1st unqualified IMO, if the seller only says trumps negotiations then the unqualified trumps a 'penidng scan' because there is no provision for 'pending scan' to put the book on hold temporarily (which is what the 'pending scan' buyer is asking for).
  19. he (she) has tried their scammery here as well OK, I didn't know that. Thnx!
