  1. It sounds like most of this is going to weigh on the Asian markets. If the Asian markets read online reviews and base their viewing dollars on that, this franchise is doomed. The only hope they have is for them to ignore the online reviews. How many in the asian markets even pay attention to the critics enough to make a difference? I would say more today than ever before and certainly more than 10 years ago. People turn to the internet for everything. Literally everything. From movie revues to recipes to trends to what color underwear to wear.
  2. I think general, people should think about saying or putting something into writing before doing it. Generally, if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about.

  4. I guarantee that someone who knows what they are doing could recreate FF #48 - 50 (ala LOTR / Peter Jackson) and have a blockbuster on their hands.
  5. Can a movie that no one should see taint Stan & Jack's achievement? I would hope not. No it can't. The first #100 issues of FF will go down in history as one of the greatest runs in comics and nothing will change that. People will speculate based on the film but that will never be able to undo history.
  6. Wow. Who's the director for this radical new RockMyAmadeus reboot? This is what a changed person sounds like. He even looks different!
  7. That's how I read it as well. I wonder if Arch has a legal background of some sort. The construction of his response looks very familiar. Or the collectibles group is large enough that they might run stuff by their legal department. But yeah, definitely legalese.
  8. I have seen bits of each (HG and HP) and neither drew me in. I believe the large following for those franchises is because of the readers. We did visit Universal in Florida and I must say the HP exhibits were world class so that did inspire me to watch the movies. But yeah, have not really been compelled to follow either franchise.
  9. I saw these. If I watch FF, I'll let you know which is better.
  10. Have I ever asked you how you feel about the two Ghost Rider movies? They are awful but don't take my word for it...my top 5 superhero movies of all time are 1) Daredevil 2) Guardians 3) Winter Soldier 4) Age of Ultron 5) Spidey So what do I know. Jim I got your back, Jim. Who needs critics do decide which movies are best? I loved AoU. (thumbs u I actually like AoU as well. And Daredevil I was just Jim.
  11. That's Arch's way of removing CGC from liability if someone does post PMs. In my opinion it's bad form to publicly post PMs without the consent of the other person. And if it's in the case of a dispute, at the very least you'd want to have a proper discussion with the other person in an attempt to settle the dispute before resorting to posting PMs as evidence. That's just my
  12. Those are all Chuck Gower. This thread has moved on. Did you get permission to revisit this issue? It's still Chuck's birthday. I'm not allowed to wish him happy birthday. You are, just not in this thread.

  16. Just added a Pep Comics #26 (1st Veronica) coverless to the same thread.
  17. Jackpot Comics #4 - complete, unrestored, low grade copy available here.
  18. You did. You said he was being negative because he was saying negative things about the movie. What agenda? The movie had stinker written all over it, from the trailer to the numbers to the advertisements to the embargo. Can't you tell when a movie is going to be a stinker? Cheerleading is the correct term here. You cheerlead every movie in the hopes it does well, even if they are going to stink.
  19. Actually, it was Paperheart that mentioned the pom-poming and you went on the defensive. what's w/ incessant pom poming? i haven't seen or heard one thing that indicates this will be any good. i don't buy every single krap comic that comes out because i want to support the hobby. i sure ain't spending my $ at the theater if this looks like it's IM2 or IM3 terrible. give me something of GOTG or Cap:WS quality and i'll happily support it. until evidence otherwise, this has the same stench as ASM2. You replied with this: And then Chuck finally came in with his cheerleading comment: And you brandished him as negative. He wasn't negative. He was realistic. Everything about the movie smelled bad from early on.
  20. Roy's Canadian so he's inherently, a fool. thanks! I appreciate that! greggy is co-fool.
  21. I've had people on ignore for many reasons. a) I think the person is a d-bag online and doesn't deserve to be heard b) I find the person has an annoying posting style (lots of videos that bog down my internet connection) but I don't dislike them as people c) People might be dishonest and I don't want to deal with them d) I disagree with a person's views and just don't want to argue etc, etc. So having someone on ignore may not always have to do with business dealings
  22. This part you are mostly right about. The only word we had from the seller was the dialogue and conversations he had with Swick and Junk. When Swick posted his issues here. He posted a link within John's sales thread. Maybe we can ask Swick or Junk if John responded privately, because he didn't publicly. He continued on, not responding to anything, as if he had not seen the link in the middle of his thread. The silence was deafening. Swick and Junk's conclusion turned out to be false. That's why I repeatedly posted the night it happened that this is something that the seller should address directly and immediately. Drawing a final conclusion with the gap in information was impossible. That's why I agreed with Tranny that John could have just canceled the offer before it was accepted and sell to anyone he wanted. It was the "sold, unsold, sold" stuff was giving the implication of something being hinkie. It turns out the "sold" was always "sold" and the "unsold" claim that made things look untoward was the false statement. My pitchforks are always going to be out when something like that happens. This all translates to me to: Ready, Fire, Aim. The end justified the means. Iraq mentality all over again. etc. Yes, John should have posted here and resolved it for everyone after the conversation was started but it shouldn't have been posted here before John was given an opportunity to do so privately in the first place.
