  1. I disagree. I don't think it has anything to do with the books. There is honest confusion and then there is willful ignorance. I believe this guy was honestly confused and not willfully ignorant (or disobedient). I haven't followed this new thread that closely but the guy is learning the rules and adapting as he goes along. He's also being apologetic, even though there was initially a bit of an uproar on both sides. He's not selling through another dealer, he is allowing a dealer to act as an escrow. He's answering PMs, and adapting as he learns. Part of the problem that the thread has experienced seems to be an overreaction from some board members from the beginning of the thread causing a mess, as is usually the case when people just fire first and think later. It's unrealistic to expect everyone to fit in immediately from the get-go. It takes a while for people to get their wings and fit in. I was harassed as a PGX shill when I first started posting here.
  2. Dang Billy. Can I have that book when you decide you're turning to collecting Gator paraphernalia instead of comics? Seriously.
  3. I think that's why stickies exist. So we won't have to do what you just stated. Sure, but I was just suggesting it because everyone wants something different stickied and with 8 stickies already in general they are already taking up lots of real estate. Up to you guys how you want to handle it. I'm just offering a suggestion. Another option would be to place it in the rules at the start of every Selling Forum or sticky it just in the Selling Forums. That way nobody would be able to miss it if they were buying or selling books but it would not clutter General.
  4. Or just start a thread in General that is called "Please check out the forum Probation Thread" and then post a link in the thread to here and bump it once a month or so.
  5. I love this book. It's so much nicer in hand than in the scan.
  6. Love the back story. That's a great book with an unobtrusive sig. (thumbs u
  7. That Denver is a stunner. I've never seen you so post happy!
  8. either the 29 or 31. It will be only one book next year as the wife might kill me otherwise in the words of the immortal Richard Evans... why not "both" You basturd guy, West coast comic book guy you.
  9. Hey gang. I threw up my Tec #37 and Black Terror #10 for sale again at reduced prices in case anyone is interested. Link.
  10. ...and return Kudos to Trey Cannon for a well packaged box of two nice books. Thanks! R.
  11. Apparently there were 4 bidders taking that book into the stratosphere.
  12. There is just no need to let this Timely thread sit more than a day without a new post...even if it is a boring repost. I think this is the first time I've posted these all at once. Most of them are freshly scanned. Sorry to bore you, but some of these unfortunately might be sold soon out of necessity and I wanted to post the entire lot.
  13. Speaking of which, if Tylerdurden is truly Connor Amans, I'd like to know how someone identified this and then I think we need to ensure the mods take this clown off the board AGAIN. He's not Conner. I'm pretty sure of that.
  14. Gang, I have some a few old books relisted and added lots of new stuff from my personal collection. Feel free to take a look and PM me with interest.
  15. Gang, I am going to post one more slam bang sales thread of rare and key GA books from my personal collection. I really hate to see these books go but between home and vehicle expenses this seems to be the best route to take. Books will include Mystic Comics #2 (first run, classic Schomburg cover and tough to find) Wonderworld #3 (1st app. The Flame, classic Lou Fine) Special Edition Comics #1 (1st book devoted entirely to Captain Marvel) Marvel Mystery Comics #6-8 (no explanation needed) Amazing Adventures #1 CGC 8.0 (1961) Never seen in high grade Daring Mystery Comics #3 CGC 5.0 My favorite Schomburg cover. Hope to get started later today. R.
  16. I was looking back through some old PMs and Russ was a really good guy from what I remembered. He even held the old grading contest a few times. I spoke to him on the phone well before I found these boards because we met on eBay. I wonder why the pattern of bad behavior. Maybe something bigger going on in his private life than he cares to admit?
  17. Buc, how old are you? You are reasoning with a child's mentality. A real hobbyist wouldn't leave a fellow hobbyist hanging when a transaction is committed to. You don't know how to keep your word and when you are caught you can't even say sorry. You only know how to sling mud. Since you're such a great guy and always looking out for the little guy why don't you start a thread where you give away comics for cheap to lead by example. (thumbs u
  18. He came on the boards about a year ago, trying to sell some books. When he was called out that he was still on the probation list for BINning books and not paying for them he blew it off in a rather arrogant way... using words like "panties in a bunch" & "citizen's arrest" ...telling people they had "too much time on their hands" etc I thought that the saddest part of the thread was that certain old-school posters were almost defending Clobberintime because he was "an old school poster" as well... Seems like he is back to old tricks of BINning and then not bothering to see it through... here's the original thread Not giving a krapp about being on the list He did the same to me a few years ago (if I'm thinking of the same guy) before there even was a probation list. I really needed the cash at the time. BIN'd a couple of big books and then I never heard from him again. I think that he might have deep pockets and doesn't realize that his actions can actually cause problems for people who are depending on the sale.
  19. Buc, you are just unable to focus on fixing your own problem aren't you? It's much easier to try and drag something unrelated into your mess of a life like Adam or the price of my Action #23. You really are a loser. You're ignorant for ignoring the facts. You're a hypocrite because you say the reason that you are on the probation list is that people were mean to you during those transactions but you yourself are offensive when it comes to communication. You're childish because you continue to try and offend others and draw them into this argument when you have an opportunity to clear your name. Loser with a capital "L". At this point nobody will take you seriously, let alone get offended by anything you have to say.
