  1. I'd call them first. They might do it on their dime...which they should if they scratched it.
  2. Can someone explain this to me? I'm sure I'm missing part of the equation, but I can't think of it. How can I get less than 5 stars on Item As Described if I only sell slabs?
  3. My last value sub of 4 books... Received - 8/29 Shipped - 1/13 Roughly 4 1/2 months. I might've hit my head or something 'cause it really doesn't seem that long.
  4. Is there still tracking data for this shipment?
  5. I still can't figure out why my CC was charged as soon as my modern prescreen was received...not graded (or even looked at) yet. I asked about it (because that's a lot of $) and Jose said to remind them after they are graded, so they can make the necessary adjustments. Of course, I did tell him that they could keep all the money if they just passed all the books. He didn't reply to that.
  6. I make sure that (immediate payment) is checked when I make all my listings. I still get an email from Ebay now & then saying something like, "Your item has sold. Waiting for payment."
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this was Fast Track grading.
  8. Did they charge your CC for your prescreen yet? My modern prescreen was just received a couple of days ago & they charged my CC already. I don't remember them doing this for previous subs.
  9. I think that the fact that they've been working on this problem for far too long (IMO) negates any upside. Kateeja (CGC), however, is super. Handled my issue today in less than an hour. Agree with everything else you said.
  10. That's too long ... even for Value tier. You better call.
  11. I plugged my email into that website and got this message... "Oh no — pwned! Pwned on 1 breached site and found no pastes (subscribe to search sensitive breaches)"
  12. If he disagrees with the bleedthru, he must have an opinion of what it is. Did he say?
  13. That's what I have. Well, almost...it's an 8250. I hate lugging it out whenever I need it, though. Any affordable legal-size wireless scanners out there?
  14. If it was me, I'd send in the #1 still in the PGX slab and have them unslab it themselves.
  15. I'm right there with ya dude. Here's a little story for ya... About 5 years ago, or so, I had this great idea of selling comics on Ebay. I figured it would be a great way to make a few bucks. Of course, I had no idea what I was doing, or what to do if any hiccups occurred. I drove about 60 miles to my sister's house just to learn how to list stuff on Ebay. After about an hour, I was an expert. Fast forward about a week. My VERY FIRST sale. Some guy out in CA (I'm in MI) bought a slabbed comic from me. I don't know if there was a heat wave out there, or the slab sat in a USPS truck over the weekend, or what, but the slab was melted when it got delivered. (I posted pics of it somewhere on here many moons ago). Anyways, the buyer asks what to do. Remember, I'm a complete novice with both Ebay and CGC. I tell him to get it reholdered and I'd pay for it. He writes back that he has no idea how to do that, so being the nice guy that I am, I fill out the paperwork (cause back then there was actual paperwork) and send it in. I tell him that he's all set, just pack up the book and send it in. Guess what, he has no packing material (what!) and would like me to send him an empty box that he could use. *I'm laughing as I type this* So I send him a box (a PRELABELED box, because, you know, I was using my noggin), and he sends it out. A few days later I get a phone call. It's CGC telling me that the book will have to be regraded. Ugh! I say "OK" and pay for it. He finally gets it back a few weeks later (it dropped .5) and left positive feedback. Yeah, I spent way to much money and jumped thru way too many hoops, but I had my first successful sale and I couldn't have been happier! Altogether, I probably spent about $200 on a 6.0/5.5 copy of Avengers #11, but I learned a boatload with that first sale. Mainly that I probably shouldn't be so much of a push-over (that's code for "quit being such a puzzy") I wouldn't change a thing.
  16. Now that's a sweet book! Santa never brings me anything that cool. BTW - does your wife know what you have already so she doesn't get you a duplicate?
  17. grail /ɡrāl/ noun: Grail; noun: the Grail; noun: Holy Grail 1.(in medieval legend) the cup or platter used by Jesus at the Last Supper, and in which Joseph of Arimathea received Christ's blood at the Cross. Quests for it undertaken by medieval knights are described in versions of the Arthurian legends written from the early 13th century 2. a thing that is being earnestly pursued or sought after.
  18. I am, in no way, predicting (or expecting) any damage to occur to my books while in their possession. I have never, ever had this happen to me (knock on wood), however, we've all heard stories. In the event something bad does happen, are 'before' pics good enough? For those who've had their books damaged (and downgraded for it), were there ever any problems with the 'before' pics not being good enough? It seems like CGC could say "How do we know that's the same book?" and they'd be in their rights to ask this. I'm not trying to be negative...just making sure I CMA.
  19. +1 I just printed off a label this morning for the box I'm sending to CGC tomorrow. Sig required.
