  1. re: carriers I'll use UPS/FedEx for small or cheap batches - USPS for large or expensive batches, because of insurance reasons. re: submitting at cons I've never done it, so I have no experience. But I've always thought it was more likely for the books to be damaged if submitting at cons due to more people handling them. (Maybe I just have trust issues, but I wouldn't trust just anyone to pack up my books)
  2. Is there a story why that Action #1 went for $3,207,852? Did the underbidder go "Shoot, I should've went a buck higher."?
  3. I don't know who should be responsible at this point. What I do know ... I wouldn't ask anymore questions ... I'd start to make demands.
  4. and then add the cost of grading. That's what all the cool kids do.
  5. How does this happen - particularly to just the inside and not the outside?
  6. I think CGC used to recommend reslabbing every 7(?) years. They've since reversed that recommendation. I've wondered a few times if the comics they slabbed during that first phase needed to be reslabbed.
  7. This is the exception... I had a dozen or so long boxes stored up in my mom's garage from the 80s. I recently pulled a few books out and sent them to CGC. I sent 3 New Mutants #1 & 2 Wolverine Limited Series #1. I got back 2 9.8s and a 9.6 NM 1 & a 9.8 and 9.6 Wolvie 1. My mom's garage was located in lower Michigan (White Cloud). Again, I know this is an exception ... but they were up their for decades w/o any kind of AC/Heat or humidity control. (with all the bugs, cobwebs, and mice - but they were off the floor, maybe that saved them.)
  8. I hate spiders. And sex with fat women. Those are my two bugaboos.

    flipbooks

We all know what a flipbook is, right? What I don't know is if there is only one name for the book. IOW - let's say you're trying to find this book in the OSPG, would you look under 'Y' or 'B' (or either)? Ok, I'm going to come clean. I recently had CGC slab a completely run-of-the-mill comic with absolutely no monetary value. I just like the book (cue Muttley laugh gif). One side is Glory/Angela: Angels in Hell #1 and the other side is Darkchylde #1. It has the Darkchylde side facing front (by request) but the label says Glory/Angela: Angels in Hell. Is this because G/A is the actual name of the book, or should it have said "Darkchylde #1" on the label? It's really not that big of a deal. I'm mostly just curious.
  12. I usually get around 100 search notifications around 4:00 am. Today I received none.
  13. I don't think I'd worry too much at this point. I sent in a batch of 28 moderns about 4 months ago ... they were split into two groups (25 and 3). I got the 25 back before the other 3 were even graded.
  14. This is an example of early Marvels that have an obvious difference in cut. Both were sent into CGC. Neither came back trimmed.
  15. I've always believed (incorrectly?) that the FB percentage was based on the past 12 months...not the total FB received over the years. Is this right?
  16. Silly goose. Everybody knows that 'soon' means more than 8 years.
  17. Shop owner sure holds a grudge. Kicked out yesterday for something that happened last year?
  18. Did you slip 'em a fin, or something? My reholder from 7/16 is still at G/QC.
