  1. Same here. It happens. Don't stress over it, it'll come back.
  2. After you enter in 25 books on the form, that option will pop up.
  3. I don't understand all of these stipulations on first appearances. It doesn't matter if the character is in the foreground or background, whether you see his face or not, whether the character speaks or not. (Does the character appear on the cover? Makes not one iota of difference.) If a character appears in any way, shape, or form in an issue, that is his first appearance ... period. You can use whatever adjective you want (cameo, full, etc...), or collectors may deem another issue more desirable, or the market may deem another issue more valuable, but if the artist drew him into the story, it's his first appearance.
  4. I've read messages by members stating that NRs don't bother them in the least. While it is extremely difficult for me to understand this, if I try really hard I can do it. One thing I'll never fathom, though, is how anyone can state that, given a choice between NRs and no NRs, they'd prefer to leave it as is.
  5. A quick search shows that a few of these things have 'sold'. Some for hundreds of dollars. phhfftt.
  6. The perfect decade to 'over do it'. <---- no regrets (well, not many)
  7. I'm with the above poster. I snipe because when I didn't, bad things happened. I can't say they were against the rules, because I could never prove it. But things like someone bidding $5 a shot over and over to find my top dollar don't seem right to me. It may not be against the rules, but that kind of stuff caused me turn to sniping.
  8. same listing Sometimes, when I do a search, I get fooled the same way. Ebay will show a 'sponsored listing' (I have no idea what that is). And also show the original listing (without the 'sponsored' tag). So, basically, you have the same listing twice.
  9. They did the same thing with me back in March. I sent in a 28 book prescreen. I had 25 books back before the other 3 were even shipped.
  10. I already do. But then again, I'm ahead of the curve.
  11. Don't own a smartphone. Never will. Wherever I go, people are glued to them. (I think it's a generational thing) Scanner for me. HP8250. Cost me $50. Works like a charm. re: glare I do have some. Seems to work better if I scan the slabs upside-down and rotate the scans 180 degrees.
  12. Correct. Look here to help decide how many books to submit.
  13. Just the opposite for me. Divorce.
  14. It's weird. When I first started buying back issues as a kid, I never thought about if they would go up in value. They were just cool & their value was what the price stated (usually written in pencil in the upper left corner of the back cover). I never thought about the future - isn't that normal for a kid. One thing I do remember is seeing a FF 4 on the counter of the LCS (he always kept the good comics in a box on the counter) with a asking price of $12 and thinking "Yea right. Who in their right mind is gunna pay that." Then I grew older & started to think about money and other adult stuff - like girls.
  15. Of course, technically, if he refuses combined shipping, he should have shipped them in separate boxes.
  16. It's a Richard move by the seller, but if it doesn't say anything about combined shipping in the listings, it's wrong to assume so.
  17. I believe it states right on the packing list (that you have to print out) to write it on the box.
  18. Regardless of any grade the books may receive, I think the top one looks a lot nicer.
