  1. I've never really given this much thought, but does an OW/W designation mean that the pages have faded evenly and they're all at the same 'fade quality'? Or does it mean that the pages have faded inconsistently and some pages are OW while others are W? Maybe a pq number (a la the old Owl Card) would serve better?
  2. "... and see that their gloss & size doesn t match the other size of staples " Is he right?
  3. I think sniping programs are good (for the buyer) and here's why... There's a difference, a big difference, between winning an auction for what you're willing to pay and winning an auction for a lot less than what you're willing to pay. It's a good feeling when I set up my sniping program to bid $100 on an item, and I win it for $60.
  4. Fix what? Is something broke? Or just not to your liking?
  5. I don't want to believe that there are malicious people working at our post office, but that's probably the case. Dang kids!
  6. I really wish that writing 'fragile' would indeed make a difference. Unfortunately, because of the world we live in, you're probably right. Still, I would rather have it written on my packages 'just in case'.
  7. OP - Just curious, why did you choose Craigslist to sell it? Is CL better than other sites?
  8. Does it have to be 'either or'? Both are unacceptable, IMO.
  9. "...ideal for visual display and preservation."
  10. A couple of Rawhide Kids ... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rawhide-Kid-35-High-Grade/223179794879?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Rawhide-Kid-55-Dec-1966-Marvel-/123398324136?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=xL%2Fh%2F3NS3%2Ft6w5brlvD20P2atyE%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc I'm kinda hoping this western kick that I'm in is only temporary.
  11. It's been over a month, so I think I made the right decision. The buyer doesn't seem to be active anymore - he(or she) received 1 feedback the day after I cancelled, but hasn't received any since.
  12. This is true. 100%. The Newton Rings stand out better than ever.
  13. I'm also not an engineer, so I might be talking out of my backside, Is it possible that the new material (after Borax) has a different 'refractive index' (whatever that is) than Borax and is causing more severe NRs?
  14. Is it believable if the seller tells you that he did, in fact, put protective cardboard around the comic? I'm not sure how the GSP works. Never use it.
  15. tomAto...tomato Some say it is a defect, others say it isn't. Regardless whether it is or isn't, it looks like s h i t.
  16. As someone who hardly ever uses Facebook, I have a question... You know how you can search 'sold' items on Ebay? Does Facebook have that same option? IOW - Do we know that people get their asking price on Facebook?
  17. I think "IT" when looking at that cover.
  18. Off-topic... How are you guys taking these really close up pics? Are smart phones (which I don't have) able to do this? Or do you have to have a really good camera (which I also don't have)? The last time I bought a camera, it was about 10 bucks and came from the rack at 7/11.
  19. I think it's safe to assume that the powers-that-be at CGC aren't comic book collectors. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if they were, they would probably have a better understanding of this issue.
  20. I can't comment on the op's reasons for posting, but if this experience happened to me, I would be very upset. Simply for the reason that there was a problem with the card but nobody (except CGC) knew about it. From what I understand, it wasn't until the op called that he was he made aware. That, as my vacuum says, sucks.
