  1. I accepted my first partial refund today. I swore I would never do it, but he wanted me to send everything back to him, crushed box and all. Being the lazy slob that I am, I didn't want the hassle of finding a big enough box to fit everything and then waiting in line at the post office, so when he offered a partial, I accepted. Now I feel slimy.
  2. I know first hand how this feels. There is a problem that needs addressing, but you don't find out about it until you inquire. It doesn't feel very good and you lose confidence for those involved. The actual problem takes a backseat to the lack of communication.
  3. I've got 4 coming back as we speak, 3 more sitting at 'verified', & 10 more on their way there. And I'm feeling pretty confident. Normally, I print out the paper forms and write something like "Please no newton rings" on all the copies, but I see paper forms are a thing of the past now? They weren't available for this last submission.
  4. Yeah, that's pretty gross. I don't know why it should be so gross, it just is.
  5. I gunna dream happy dreams tonight.
  6. This is exactly right. They were present, but to a way, way lesser extent. And it was so easy to slip an envelope in there to get rid of any that you noticed. I can't remember ... why did they redesign the slab? I know they had a reason, but I can't remember what it was. (but at least I don't have Alzheimer's )
  7. I gotta admit, I fell for it a couple of years ago. My son was standing next to me when I opened it, so I had to act like it was exactly what I wanted. (It was just a stupid Thor magnet. The issue where he's a frog.)
  8. In this case, can the OP open a case? If so, he should.
  9. I see a couple of broken eggs. And good luck with those books.
  10. I have 4 Values that were received on 7/10 still at Verified.
  11. Makes me wonder what they had to do to make it more presentable, and why they can't do it for every submission.
  12. I don't think the word 'probably' should be used anywhere on the label.
  13. Isn't this contradictory to Ride the Tiger's post a few hours ago?
  14. A question for the ebay gurus ... I recently cancelled a transaction. I may be overly cautious (and inviting criticism), but I don't like selling to 0 feedback members. So when a $260 dollar book recently sold to a 0 feedback member (who registered the day before), I cancelled it. My question is ... should I wait a certain amount of time before relisting it?
  15. Not too bad. I remember 25-30 years ago thinking I'd never buy anything but long boxes, I saw no reason to buy short boxes. I see a long box these days and cringe. Oh, to be young again.
  16. Not important, just curious - when CGC sends back a large shipment like this, what's the maximum number of slabs they put in a box? (Surely, it isn't just one box.)
  17. That's an acceptable percentage. I think I'll roll the dice. Thanks.
  18. I have a pile that I'm vacillating about sending in. I don't have a problem gambling if the odds are in my favor - I know pretty much every sub has the rings to some extent, but I'm wondering if the majority of subs have an unacceptable amount or just a few.
  19. A reholder because of rings? On their dime or yours?
