What can we draw from this?

Did you make any kind of request...like "watch for rings", or "put in bigger cases"? And if so, I wonder if we can make that request on our forms?

I haven't tried to reholder books with newton rings, but I have wanted to. A while back I got back two expensive (for me) books with very bad puddling. I contacted Christian, and after sending him some pics, he said that they would reholder them for free. They came back with the EXACT same puddling. Not similar, mind you, they were the same. They transferred the books right from my box to theirs. I remember removing them from the CGC box and thought, "Shoot, they have puddling again. And they're the same size...in the same spot of the book. Come to think of it...". After I got out the pics of the books I had sent to Christian, and my suspicions confirmed, I figured that they just wanted to shut me up. So even though I've gotten books back with excessive amounts of rings (where the WHOLE cover is covered), I haven't even tried to contact them again.

Will CGC listen if you request no newton rings when you submit?

As was mentioned before, I would (and have) returned a book because of those rings. I understand it doesn't have any effect on the book itself, but if I spend money on something (especially a large amount of money), I want to be happy with my purchase. I guess technically "value" and "sellable" mean different things. But I can't help wonder if people are hesitant to buy CGC slabs due to these rings. I wonder if anyone is buying slabs from across the street because of this? (Can we even say 'across the street' anymore due to the move?)

Do you do this with the newer slabs? You sure about this?

Misunderstandings are to be expected as long as Paradise remains mute on the subject. Until they offer an explanation, this subject will remain a mystery. Frankly, it wouldn't make any difference in the world to me if this guy was the nicest person in the world. Remaining silent is bad ... whether Paradise Is blameless or not.

I recently bought an X-men 101. I sent it to CGC & it came back B-1. I went to go look at the original listing again, but it's not letting me view it. It takes me to a "recommended" current listing. I think I read somewhere that Ebay does all their upgrades on Thursday. So hopefully this coming Thursday they will have received enough negativity concerning this that they'll put things back to normal.

What are the "Exclusive Offers and Benefits"?

I don't understand why they don't just fix the problem. Obviously, they're aware of the issue, but apparently don't care enough to eliminate it. I got this FF112 back 3 or 4 weeks ago. Sorry about the crappy quality pics.

If you send a book back for a 2nd opinion/lookover, how is it different (monetarily or otherwise) to a straightup submission?

I don't really understand why people are not allowed to say who their preferred presser is. It's not the same as saying the other pressers are bad, nor is it the same as encouraging others to use who you prefer. I prefer sharp cheese over Colby, but Colby is still good. I also have a preference for a certain carpet cleaner and oil change service, but I'm sure the others are just as competent. I've personally used many pressers, and naturally I have a preference, but I'm not allowed to say who it is (unless it's CCS). Can someone remind me what the definition of 'promoting' is? Then again, these aren't my forums and I don't make the rules. As far as 'bad taste' or 'rude' is concerned, I've seen the words 'subjective' and 'opinion' used many times on these boards. I believe those words apply here.

I think you're right ... when using the online form, my books are usually verified the same day they're received.

I've had a modern slow at verified since 4/13. I don't want to over-react, but something just doesn't add up.

I have no idea how this digital thing works. I just searched Ebay (& other sites) for some TPBs of the Infinity/Thanos stuff so that I could read the stories without spending an arm & a leg. I could've searched for digital copies somewhere?

I'm with ya on the double covers & price variants ... they don't do anything for me. What I do find desirable, and I don't know why, is that green issue of FF 110. I don't know why I find it so pretty, but I smile when I hold it.

re: the exchange I noticed that most books I've looked at have ComicLink Comments:, but the books I put up this morning don't have any. Am I doing something wrong? Also, of those with ComicLink Comments, some are different than others of the same issue. Keep in mind, I'm not talking about Item description.
