  1. "What's that you say? Your comic was inserted upside down? Well, it's after the 2 week window so it'll cost you $20 to have us fix it for you." "There's a big ol' plastic shard in the slab? Well, it's been longer than 2 weeks so that'll be $20 please." "Your book is covered in Newton Rings? We'll fix that right up for ya. Make the check out to CGC."
  2. It's simple really. You're paying these guys for a service. If that service is subpar or mistakes are made, they pay to fix it. To have the customer flip the bill for any f-ups by CGC is completely unacceptable.
  3. "Once you created the invoice, it CANNOT be changed." People keep saying...usually those CGC reps that answer questions in "'ASK CGC'. But it's really not 100% accurate. If you change it to "Once you created the invoice, we WILL NOT change it", it becomes 100% accurate.
  4. Please note ... normal does not equal accurate. This normal (inaccurate) policy leads to a great many label errors. "Rest assured..."
  5. I believe the 1st appearance of Ben Urich should be noted. Daredevil #153.
  6. Does it make a difference if it goes thru a QC stage anyway?
  7. Afterall, we are talking Blackstone here. They've made certain things clear. I believe this (holds up a dollar bill) bucks anything an employee might say.
  8. To be honest, that looks like a long box to me too.
  9. Where I work, whenever the company makes a major decision, it is discussed beforehand with the employees. Then it is discussed again. This way all possible viewpoints are looked at ... this is to prevent a possibly bad decision being made. With all these bad decisions being made at CGC the last few months - acetate fiasco, pay for grades with empty slabs, removal of certain notes from the labels, 14 days and you're out of luck, and on and on (not to mention the forever ongoing QC bs) - there's no way these things are being discussed beforehand. It's impossible that all the CGC employees would say "Yeah, let's do it! That's a great idea!" I think these Blackstone people care about exactly one thing and one thing only. $$$ I think I'm starting not to like them.
  10. I think I read somewhere (was it here?) that a boatload of hi-grade Thor 156s were found in a warehouse.
  11. Paraphrasing what @BlackOut21 said ... "I totally stole your money. But you complained about it so I'm going to keep it."
  12. It looks like the Xmen books that were pictured are on the Excel sheet that lists all the books he supposedly sent you.

  14. Eventually it will be corrected. And the comic will, of course, be worse for the wear for it. That sucks. But you know what the suckiest part is? CGC will never offer an explanation ... never say "That guy(s) f'd up." This is what they'll say instead, "Here's a free shipping label. We'll fix it (maybe), in our own sweet time. You, on the other hand, have but 2 weeks. Now stop bothering us."
  15. Yeah, it sure wasn't CGC who did all those things. In fact, besides starting this whole grading of comics, what innovations (new ideas) has CGC done that has been beneficial to it's customers?
  16. Agreed. I'm far from business-savvy, but I don't think you need to be a brain surgeon to understand that businesses won't survive if they consistently put out a shoddy product. Especially if they don't care that they put out a shoddy product.
  17. Are you having to send back some slabs from every submission you do? If this is the case, which, given CGC's track record, wouldn't surprise me in the least, you have the patience of a saint. My frustration level would be thru the roof.
  18. I used to get mocked by my family all the time when I said I had to dethaw some hamburger. I got the last laugh, though, when I looked it up.
  19. They can't just be sticking the old label into the new slab, can they?
