  1. I hope this hiring has positive results. A couple of questions regarding some of the more common complaints... Plastic shards in the slabs - Will this gentleman be responsible for simply not letting slabs go out with any shards in them, or will he be responsible for the shards not getting in the slabs in the first place? Big difference. Quite frankly, this has been going on for a very, very long time and there is absolutely no way that CGC does not know where they are coming from. Scratches/scuffs on (or in) the slabs - exact same question and exact same same statement regarding CGC knowing where they are coming from. Again, I hope the hiring of Mr Saucerman brings positive results, but I'm afraid that quality won't improve much without the top dogs willing to make those changes. So far, they seem unwilling to do so.
  2. Seriously, the only logical and truthful response that CGC could make is that nobody (and I mean nobody) looked at it.
  3. Many reasons.... Convinience people way think they are better (or just as good) people may want to avoid another shipping charge they may be closer <--- never used CCS
  4. From what I've been told by CGC, your TAT is what is posted TODAY, not what it was when you submitted your books.
  5. I've been hearing of this for a long while now. I hate to say it, but when you're paying good money to have a grading service grade your books, and they're coming back with make believe grades, it's time to seriously rethink submitting books to that grading company.
  6. I'm pretty much lost when it comes to Moderns... Are you saying that if it doesn't have the little Comics Code box, it's a KB Toys reprint? I was looking around on Ebay (hey, I was bored, alright?) and found this book advertised as a "1st print', but it doesn't have that little box. Is he wrong? Or am I just not understanding this correctly? https://www.ebay.com/itm/203957519197?hash=item2f7cd0c35d:g:CBUAAOSw0Stig~YG
  7. It's probably good that they're going to make this big announcement, but I really don't know what they can say that will put our minds at ease. Off the top of my head, there are 2 possible things they can say... "We knew" - doesn't really promote confidence if they knew all along, but did very little, if anything. "We didn't know" - also doesn't promote a whole lot of confidence. I hope there is something else they can say, but I don't know what it could be.
  8. An easy way to see if it was submitted under the correct date would be to look at that email they send to print out the order. It'll be on there.
  9. It seems so simple ... slab it or refund the fees. It's totally unacceptable that it's been over a month with no resolution.
  10. Wasn't he talking about Facebook? <---- member of both forums.
  11. I don't dabble in Moderns much... Doesn't the indicia state what printing it is? Wouldn't CGC go by that?
  12. Me too. Nothing. I wonder if they're even looking at them.
  13. This is what I hear at my work... "We're not machines, we're people. Think."
  14. I'm not sure what a cockwomble is, but I'm assuming it's not good.
  15. I don't worry too much about TATs (although my patience does have limits). The QC issues going on down there however, combined with the seemingly "We don't care" attitude held by CGC, prompted me to make the decision last January not to send them anymore books to be graded.
  16. You can see what CGC puts on the label by using the Census.
  17. Have you ever wondered... if all this kind of carp happened over at PGX, how many "I told you so"s we'd hear?
  18. Seriously, isn't CGC obligated to at least let you know when something like this happens? I know there is that stupid waiver which absolves them of any responsibility when something like this happens , but you would think they'd give you a call at least. When I mess up at work, the first thing out of my mouth is, "Hey boss, I messed up." I seriously wonder if kids these days are taught to keep their mouths shut (or if this is just a CGC thing).
  19. I was paying for my items in this months Focused and noticed that if you pay using crypto, you'd save some $. Maybe this is old news, but I just noticed it.
  20. Remember, the grade could also go down...even if pressed first.
