  1. No second print, but the Usagi story from that issue was reprinted in the Volume 1 trade as well as in the Usagi Yojimbo Summer Special. Yeah, I think of Albedo #2 to be similar to TMNT #1 in a lot of ways. Both first appearances, both Indy comics, and small print runs 2000 versus 3000. Having said that, I think that TMNT is more popular and currently harder to find in high grade because of its size. But, TMNT's creators are also comic collectors, and they probaly saved some HG copies, similar to Dave Sim.
  2. According to this link: Top 300 Comics for June 2006 , Usagi is the 198th most ordered comic, with roughly 4300 copies ordered. However, I think this is a little misleading in that many Usagi fans don't collect the monthly issues but rather wait until the trade paperback. Stan's up to volume 20 and going strong. Also, there are many Usagi fans that no longer collect the title, but who would still love to have a copy (or two) of Albedo #2. Clearly, for this book in 9.0 slabbed and above, it is a $1k book and the demand is higher than the supply.
  3. Those are sweet. I like Frank Kozik's Smorkin’ Mongers for kind of the same reason ( the humor/irony). Smorkin' Where else can you find smoking watermelons, grenades, ice cream cones, and even cigarettes? I might have to get one of those bears. I have the smorkin' pink ice cream cone and hand grenade on my desk at home. Plus, I have the large smorkin' redrum labbit on eBay currently.
  4. I also collect Kidrobot toys! Luckily, there's a Kidrobot store in San Francisco. Lately, I've been trying to collect Rocketworld I.W.G. toys: Insurgents Wilderness Grouppo I find them designed really well, and I love the ironic use of weapons. I'm a little late to find them, though, so I only have a couple of the bears.

  12. I think they were given out at a promotional event that Eastman and Laird were at in NYC. I've been looking for one of these for years . If anybody has a pic of it, please post it. Thanks! - Keith I recall that Keith is correct and they were given out at a promo event. Basically, they grabbed 500 or so of the books fresh from the printer for the event. They didn't like the coloring, so had the printer fix the problem for the main print run, leaving only the 500 they had for the event as the variant.
  13. After submitting some books, I clicked on the link and found the Boards. Lurked for a while, and was sucked in by the Ian Levine quest.
  14. Quite so, my dear Pov. In fact, she opened the Heritage invoice and hit the roof! Luckily, I was able to calm her down and said I needed to buy it to offset my other sales. did you see the Human Torch #20 that she got me as her wedding present to me? She's a keeper. (Melissa that is, although the comic is a keeper as well. )
  15. Thanks. I've been aggressively looking for about a year now, and put in a fair bid on the Heritage auction. Actually I was surprised that I won it. Plus, I've been selling a fair amount of other books, so felt justified in spending the cash on a big book.
  16. I've been busy with the wedding, so I haven't had a chance to scan and post this...yes, it's the one from Heritage, and I'm very pleased to have purchased it. Pov, all kidding is in good nature, of course.
  17. As you might have seen in a thread, I just got married last Friday. My lovely wife really surprised me with this... My wife rocks!!
  18. Did you see the two Eerie one-shots that Heritage sold recently? Were you in on the bidding? http://www.heritagecomics.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=818&Lot_No=2340&src=pr http://www.heritagecomics.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=818&Lot_No=2339&src=pr I was in on the bidding.
  19. Here's some that I added recently...thanks Nikos!
  20. FFB, Thanks for the test results. It's definitely interesting, and reassuring to know that I used the correct side. Now, given that I haven't changed some of those old bags and boards for 15 years, now that's another issue.
