  1. Sweet Book! It's one of my favorite Adams Tomahawk covers.
  2. Did anyone pick up the black and white deluxe hardcover version of Fall? It looks pretty cool, but I agree with others that I wish there was more Mouse Guard. I'll probably re-read Fall and Winter when #6 finally comes out.
  3. The problem with the book is that Dave does everything, from writing to pencils to ink. So, it's a very labor-intensive process. When I spoke to him at Wondercon, he promised that Winter #6 would ship before July, and he'll have another sketchbook at Comic-Con.
  4. Just opened my box of Modern subs from Wondercon: ASM 298 - expected 9.6, graded 9.6 (T. McFarlane in pen on 1st page. I didn't even realize it!) 5. - from your lips to God's ears. Also...instead of complaining that nobody wants your stuff, that 30% price decrease will work wonders there too. (thumbs u To be fair, there certainly are some books that sell much better on eBay or somewhere else than here. Take a look at all of the CGC Hulk #181s that have been offered on the Boards lately. Some have sold, but a number of them also made their way to eBay/ComicLink/etc. and sold there. As a marketing tactic, I think this line sucks. But, it does help give a definitive time when the thread will close.
  6. Oh yeah, and I have this little thing lying around: Actually, it's framed and hanging on my wall:
  7. Congrats! That's a fabulous piece. Looks fantastic! BTW, what's the consignment site for bags? Perhaps I can move some of my wife's bags and turn it into comic money.
  8. How did you manage to get a blue label on the Flex Mentallo #3? I thought autographs could only get yellow or green? The signatures are part of the artwork; they're on every copy.
  9. If by "touched $2100" you mean "sold for $1600 or less", then, yes, you are correct. That book in that grade has had exactly one sale above $2000 in the last 7 years (according to GPA) - out of 100s of total sales. The seller is smoking crack if he thinks he'll get $2100 for it here. My bad; I did a quick ended items search on eBay. There are two sellers who are "trying" to get $2k for the book. I didn't realize that they didn't actually sell for that. I'm not trying to defend the seller's asking price, just assumed there was a good reason for the price. I guess I was mistaken.
  10. Some of my Wondercon pickups: Picked this one up from Andy (Goldust) who was kind enough to bring it from England; this completes my Yellow Claw run: And I recently got this one in the mail:
  11. Here's a scan of mine! I bought this raw off of eBay in 2002 or so, got it graded last year? I can't remember.
  12. Kudos to the following for their VCC purchases: Boboset Marvelcollector Pirate Stevescu Inthehottub Warlord Pennynike1 Shark2557 Point_Five Rich_Henn Jokerman Jimm94 Johnenock
  13. So I just bought a decent size collection (around 3000 books). In it are generally nice runs of titles like Star Wars, Rom, Micronauts, Legion of Super-Heroes, Spider-Woman, etc. (Books appear to be unread, but were stored without backing boards in longboxes, so many suffer from bends in the books). Is it worth it to pull these books, put them into runs, and try to sell them on the boards? Is anyone interested in some cheap reading material?
  14. Yesterday (Saturday), I got the chance to go to Petaluma to the 13th Annual Haloween and Vine show. Matthew (Shiverbones) attends the show, apparently he had a great show. By the time I got there, around 10:45 or so (the show started at 9am), all of his oil paintings were sold, and of the special postcard limited to 50, there were only 4 left! Matthew gave me a great deal on three postcards, and a great colored pencil sketch. Here's the limited Show postcard: Here's the really cool sketch: Overall, it was just really nice to finally meet Matthew, and speak to him about his work.

  16. Just got back a modern sub of 20 books or so; here are some of the highlights: 1st Harley Quinn, and only the second 9.8: 1st New Warriors, and again only the second 9.8: 1st Platt art: 1st Cable: One of the lowest print run Deadpool appearances; I got two in 9.8 1st Thunderbolts: And a bunch of modern Spideys to round out the submission. Out of 15 books that I thought had a shot at 9.8, 10 came back 9.8.
  17. BLOODY HELL !!!!!! I swear to you, I was actually beginning to believe it didn't exist. No one else had ever seen one, although it's always been listed, with a three dollar value if I recall. I'm a bit staggered. Wanna part with it To you? Of course. I found it in a random box, thought it was cool, and picked it up. I had no idea it's so rare, but I wouldn't have scanned it or posted it just to mock you.
  18. Ian, is this the Cartoon Networks Presents one you need? I can't believe that I actually have a book that you don't. One of the reasons I got hooked on these Boards was reading about your quest.

  20. Gift What about the #128? To me, that was the bigger surprise.
