  1. Kudos to DKB and Foolkiller for quick and easy transactions, for accurately graded books, and good deals.
  2. Thanks to Ronm3 for his "castoff" Adams Detectives. Accurate grading and impeccable shipping.
  3. Top 5 Dream Grails: Detective #1 Detective #27 All-Star #3 Flash #1 All-American #16 Top 5 More Attainable Grails: Human Torch #12 Fantastic Four #1 Showcase #4 Amazing Fantasy #15 Phantom Lady #17
  4. I think they were given out at a promotional event that Eastman and Laird were at in NYC. I've been looking for one of these for years . If anybody has a pic of it, please post it. Thanks! - Keith I recall that Keith is correct and they were given out at a promo event. Basically, they grabbed 500 or so of the books fresh from the printer for the event. They didn't like the coloring, so had the printer fix the problem for the main print run, leaving only the 500 they had for the event as the variant.
  5. After submitting some books, I clicked on the link and found the Boards. Lurked for a while, and was sucked in by the Ian Levine quest.
  6. Quite so, my dear Pov. In fact, she opened the Heritage invoice and hit the roof! Luckily, I was able to calm her down and said I needed to buy it to offset my other sales. did you see the Human Torch #20 that she got me as her wedding present to me? She's a keeper. (Melissa that is, although the comic is a keeper as well. )
  7. Thanks. I've been aggressively looking for about a year now, and put in a fair bid on the Heritage auction. Actually I was surprised that I won it. Plus, I've been selling a fair amount of other books, so felt justified in spending the cash on a big book.
  8. I've been busy with the wedding, so I haven't had a chance to scan and post this...yes, it's the one from Heritage, and I'm very pleased to have purchased it. Pov, all kidding is in good nature, of course.
  9. As you might have seen in a thread, I just got married last Friday. My lovely wife really surprised me with this... My wife rocks!!
  10. Did you see the two Eerie one-shots that Heritage sold recently? Were you in on the bidding? http://www.heritagecomics.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=818&Lot_No=2340&src=pr http://www.heritagecomics.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=818&Lot_No=2339&src=pr I was in on the bidding.
  11. Here's some that I added recently...thanks Nikos!
  12. FFB, Thanks for the test results. It's definitely interesting, and reassuring to know that I used the correct side. Now, given that I haven't changed some of those old bags and boards for 15 years, now that's another issue.
  13. The raw Don Rosas come with COAs, so I don't see why CGC wouldn't put a designation on the label.
  14. Note the slab design...doesn't look like you could get slab damage on that one. Anyone know why CGC changed the design?
  15. I picked up a Brave & the Bold #4, #13, #18, #21, and #23. This one was the nicest of the group. I was this close [ ] to buying a nice VG+ copy of Brave & the Bold #1 (looked FN from front cover, but had a couple of small edge tears on the back cover that knocked it down), but the seller wouldn't take a credit card and I didn't have enough cash on me. Sweet. I really like the B&B and Showcase runs...there's just something about the variety and try-out runs that I think are really cool. I can't wait to see the books in person.
  16. Nice!! What were the other books you picked up? It's great to see that you've finally matured into a DC collector, rather than a Marvel zombie.
  17. Maybe the Robot stole his face! I haven't had a chance to read the book yet, but am looking forward to it.
  18. Here's a recent pickup...I really like this robot cover. Really nice book, except for the bottom and right edges. Also, there might be a tear seal near Wonder Woman. Not sure if this is a keeper or not.
  19. What resolution are your scans? If they're 300 dpi, then try to resize the scan down to 2 inches wide or so. Hopefully, that'll get you below the Photobucket 250k limit. BassGMan's suggestion is good, although then limit as an attachment is 150k. I pay the $20 a year for the photobucket premium service, and that way, the scans aren't resized. I save the scans with photoshop at a quality of 8, and they're often about 350k. Here's a sample: Hope this helps.
