  1. Issue 46 is one of my favorite stand alone stories of any comic.
  2. You don't see a lot of cover speculation (that I can think of) with companies that aren't mainstream, so I'd say no. Zenescope's base seems to be those that aren't aware that porn can be had for free on the internet.
  3. I don't think the appearance & death of the GotG is all that important. But, the reveal in that issue is what really made Invincible an interesting series. Prior to that it was fairlt average superhero fare. It's for that reason I would consider the issue a big key.
  4. It's also the first appearance of VEI Faith. My 80 copies would very much like this book to take off.
  5. I was never a big fan of Mignola's superhero stuff. His style doesn't work well for that. But there is one mutant book he worked on that's worth a little spec love… but not because of his work.
  6. One of the big differences is that the first few dozen issues had an original backup story in addition to the reprinted material. At some point they dropped the new material, so basically the only thing that was new was the cover. Basically it became the X-Men version of Marvel Tales at that point.
  7. That makes sense. And sounds about right; I do remember them being in the early 100s.
  8. There are a few other issues they didn't bother to reprint, but I forget the issue numbers.
  9. Just a matter of time before these books start getting some cover love.
  10. There was a lot of grumbling in the '90s about publishers jacking up the price of books when they had a special cover, but the same amount of story pages. The solution was to offer a non-enhanced cover as an alternate to the pricier cover. That's probably what the dead with this book was.
  11. Jay Scott Pike. At first glance I thought it might be Jim Aparo.
  12. I picked one up cheap a couple years ago, but I found out later it was missing the Marvel Value Stamp.
  13. I *was* an adult (just barely) in the early '90s, and I still cherish my Valiant books (and thank two of my friends, who were employees at my first regular comic shop, for suggesting that I buy them. It took me until not long before the new line launched to finally nab a Harbinger #0 Pink.
  14. I'm not a huge fan of the new Q&W (A&A and Timewalker, yes), but the original Q&W is really good stuff. I'm surprised, just because of the fan base, that no one has suggested any Deadpool books yet. (This isn't a suggestion, as I don't read Marvel, but isn't the comedy supposed to be one of the more appealing factors?)
  15. Harbinger: Renegade and A&A (odd, both of Rafer Roberts' series, but maybe there are more). Link for Renegade below. I was looking for a link for A&A but they're not readily available. My guess is that they intentionally limited the print run of the "first" print so they could have a "second" print available as another variant on the release date, but that's just speculation. It would be smart marketing in the current market, and Atom and/or Hunter are smart guys. https://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/11/08/harbinger-renegade-1-sells-out-46000-print-run-gets-second-print-at-same-time-as-first/
  16. Captain Marvel #17. But that's a special case, because the new cover is the important aspect. It will be interesting to see, assuming Valiant's multi-media efforts spark more interest in the comic line amongst comic fans, whether the issues that sold out from the distributor far enough in advance for a second print to be available for the same ship date as the first print are more sought-after than the first prints, since they'll have a lower print run and technically wouldn't qualify for not being a first appearance of whatever character might appear in the issue, since they both shipped the same day.
  17. If people end up wanting it, yes. If they don't, no. Is it a decent cover?
  18. Did we ever get a clear answer on whether other retailers do linewide variants? If they hadn't, have any started doing them since the inception of this thread?
