  1. Dude, this is a Ms. Marvel thread. You need to just let it go regarding the label on Gwenpool.
  2. That is a horrifyingly bad iron man That's one heavy Iron Man suit. No wonder Tony Stark needs Thor's hammer to prop him up. Colonoscopy, super-hero style... I'm not sure if Scarlet Witch or Iron Man's standing pose is more feminine What the hell is with Iron Man's leg?
  3. If people want to make the case that a not-in-story likeness is a first appearance, then they need to concede the argument that Marvel Age #82 is the first Cable, not NM 86.
  4. What "debate"? Neither one is a first appearance, and I'd say they're both desirable for collectors. The "debate" that marvel point one was the book to own flip over cm 17 2nd print...that debate. Fixed.... Comparing end sales it looks like cm 17 b would bring a nicer flip. I have them both and neither will be leaving my collection any time soon. My extra copies of Point One, perhaps, but not my best copy.
  5. What "debate"? Neither one is a first appearance, and I'd say they're both desirable for collectors.
  6. It's a Greg Land cover. 'Nuff said. All of his females have the same exact face and look like they were traced from a magazine (because they were). She has some thick ankles. And a disturbingly straight thigh.
  7. You're missing the point. Or rather, proving mine, if you're saying that those books sold a boatload of copies and didn't sell out. Even though you're wrong in the case of Spider-man, which did have a second printing.
  8. Also, consider this, some publishers plan their reprints. It is part of their marketing strategy so they can declare a book was a sell out. In fact, the interior of those reprints are printed along with the first prints. Why would they plan a 2nd print before it sells out? Do you have an example of this? Any proof? Around the time of Civil War, Marvel started generating additional sales by cutting back on the number of books printed over the initial orders. That meant that in some cases, a second print was needed to fill reorders. Since they were putting new covers on the reprints, many collectors grabbed those as well, which served to sell more total copies of the book, while minimizing the risk of unsold copies. It's been speculated that some Valiant books were handled this way (maybe some other small publishers as well, as they tend to rely on the sales of variants to sustain the business moreso than the big 2).
  9. The number of copies that are sold of a book is only relevant in respect to the number that are available. If 1,000,000 are available and 100,000 are actually sold, not a sell out.
  10. You sound like someone who has a case of Old Man Logan 2nd prints to unload. Just checked your posts and that's pretty much the only thing you've talked about in your posts, in three different threads
  11. The first appearance is Quantum & Woody #1 from 1997, but there were two cover versions, a regular art and a "painted art". Since it was from Acclaim (post-Valiant), and after the industry crashed, and since it was "such a weird book", there are few Valiant collectors who considered Quantum & Woody as part of the Valiant universe (or as a "must-have" for their Valiant collections), especially before 2013. For almost 20 years, the value of Quantum & Woody #1 has been about $2 to $4 for the regular and about $3 to $5 for the painted. Neither of those values, plus the fact that the book was from Acclaim (but not "rare Acclaim"), has made Q&W "slab-worthy" when it comes to getting slabbed Valiant collections completed. The CGC census has a few listings for Quantum & Woody #1 (June 1997) because they spelled it both ways "Quantum & Woody" and "Quantum and Woody" and there is the painted variant (they just call "Variant Cover"). In total, there are about 8 copies graded, and another two copies of the Retailer Review, which was a black and white preview of Q & W #1. There are a few sellers who confuse Quantum & Woody #0 as a first issue, but #0 was about five months after #1. The Q & W trade paperbacks (1998, etc.) had very low print runs, maybe 3,000 or less... so collectors have actually paid a little more for those ($10 to $40, depending on which trade) and it's not surprising that they may also be on the CGC census. Thanks, Greg. I know what all of the different books are, and I figured that the #1 with the different date was probably the first trade. But that still left multiple entries for #1 from 6/97, one of which includes all three variants (regular cover, painted cover, and retailer review). I was wondering what the other entry was, but if it's a matter of CGC using the ampersand and "AND" to label the comics, that would explain it. BTW… Nonsense!
  12. Maybe there is going to be a Yoda mini and they're saving it for that?
  13. Can anyone figure out the census for Quantum & Woody? There are two listings for Acclaim, even though there was only one series. It does seem that the trades are in the mix, based on different dates for #1s, but they're not called out as trades.
  14. I agree, i was expecting a silk/spidergwen response from collectors...but gwenpools/deadpool cover aint as hot as it was when her first solo was announced. Idk if thats because the market is leaning more towards this full app vs a cover app......but kamala was the other way around....interested to see how this one plays out Kamala is a bit of a special case, considering it's a reprint with a low print run that also contains a cameo in the story.
  15. I think an R rating would be problematic for ticket sales. I think they'll do what they have to to get it to a PG-13.
  16. All of the 451 Media comics were available, in advance, at NYCC. So I wouldn't worry about BAM getting some either. I was actually handed a batch of their books for free, including, it seems, Sunflower #1. I think my girlfriend got a batch as well, btu she's not a huge comic fan, so if anyone is looking I might have some available.
  17. Then your faith is getting a purple label. I find your lack of blue label disturbing.
  18. No demand for Ms Marvel or Captain Marvel? Or do you just see that demand from older collectors?
  19. I wish the CM 18 Carol Danvers "importance" would be put to rest. I've read it several times and the part with her getting the powers from Mar-Vell isn't obvious as it was retconned years later. Yes, I've made money off the book, but it's really a stretch to push it as a "key" to people who don't know any better. MSH #14 is Carol's actual 1st appearance and there's no argument there 13
